Another link in the Alexa puzzle
I have fully embraced an automated home in whatever way I can do it, and I have decided to use Alexa. I have placed 4 Echo Dots strategically around my home so that I can ask Alexa to turn lights off and on, set reminders, re-order items from Amazon, play music and I recently added a Sensi thermostat to my HVAC system so I can remotely turn off or on the air conditioning or the heat and yes….I can ask Alexa to set the temperature. So, I was having a hard time trying to find a Alexa compatible light switch for my kitchen because I live in an older place and the wiring is a little tricky. However, after I discovered that I don’t need to replace the switch with these Amazon bulbs I ordered some right away. My kitchen has fixtures for 6 recessed flood lights and my wife hated how bright it was with 6 regular bulbs on at the same time. My solution was the Amazon flood lights and although she is always skeptical at first, she really likes them now. With the Alexa app I labeled each bulb individually as K1, K2 thru K6. I then set them up in groups of Kitchen, Kitchen 1 and Kitchen 2. If you say turn on Kitchen then all 6 bulbs come on. If you request Kitchen 1 or Kitchen 2 then alternating sets of 3 bulbs will come on depending on which one you request to turn on. The real handy part is that you can request to turn on any 1 bulb or multiple bulbs just by asking for that. A lot of times my wife will ask for Alexa to turn on K1 which is the single bulb over the sink. It is also very convenient if you forget to turn off the kitchen lights and you are laying in bed. We simply tell Alexa to turn off the kitchen and it happens. Some people think I”m crazy but we are really enjoying the convenient of controlling your whole home just by asking Alexa. I think they’re great.

Awesome light bulbs, easy set up
For some reason, someone decided when they redid my kitchen (a rental) to put in 6 flood lights for the lighting. Good Lord thatâs bright! I had switched them out to 45w bulbs which was awesome until they died and I couldnât find a replacement. Enter dimmable smart bulbs! I love that these are connected to Alexa! I am going to purchase some more regular bulbs to put through the rest of my house. As a woman who lives alone, being able to make it look like people are here when they isnât, is a big deal to making me feel more safe. Thank you Amazon!Ps. I had a bunch of Hue bulbs Iâm going to replace with the Amazon one because I donât need to hook up a stupid hub! AWESOME!

Simple light bulb install and connection.
Super easy connection, each individual light was numbered with a sticker and the box included a separate sheet with codes to scan by the numbered light once it was installed and turned on. None of this was even necessary because as soon as the light bulb received power, my alexa app recognized it. I cannot imagine a more simple install and connection.

Highly recommend. Leave it to Amazon to make installation simple. Great value for the money. The lights are a plug and play with Alexa. Turn off the power remove old lights and install new lights. Turn them on and just wait a couple of minutes and Alexa will find the lights and install. This is a soft light and not hard on the eyes.

Color too warm/yellow!
Ok, I sooooo wanted to love these. The price was right and they work seamlessly with Amazon Alexa. But I have a few issuesâ¦1) The âsoft whiteâ color is much more âwarm whiteâ than soft. It throws a lot of yellow and as a result Iâm not using them in any of the spaces I intended for them. Iâm having a hard time trying to picture a space that is ideal for warm white BR30 light bulbsâ¦2) The response time of the lights has a noticeable lag. For comparison, I have Feit smart bulbs that respond almost instantly with Amazon Alexa.3) I have one bulb that seems to not work/connect well at all (I bought 8 in total). And I have another socket that doesnât seem to be working well with any of these bulbs⦠not sure why that one socket wonât play nicely (that one may be a me issue, but Iâm curious to know if other brand light bulbs would have the same issue?)Ack, do I regret buying them? Maybe⦠I debated returning them but I had over zealously opened both boxes and installed all the lights before I realized they were not going to meet my expectations. So then I let them sit for 12 hours to see if they would grow on me (I had them in my kitchen). They didnât. So then I started putting them in other obscure places and rooms of my house (laundry room, mud room, only in a few sockets in the kitchenâ¦) to see how I felt about them. Iâve been updating a lot of my lighting in my house as the bulbs are all mix and match at this point. I think they are good enough in some of these spaces and did save me some money. But I donât love them and that is 100% due to the color (I could live with the lag and a faulty bulb).

No extra hub needed!!
I have previously used sengled with Alexa, but that hub has gone down a couple of times where Iâve had to redo all the attached bulbs. That is a pain for an entire house. These hook right into Alexa. So convenient! Theyâve worked well for now and the connectivity works as expected. As my older sengled bulbs need to be replaced Iâll be using these. I just wish they had multi packs of the smaller bulbs!

Get what you pay for
These didn’t work. First of all, they made a terrible buzzing noise when I turned on the switch, although I’m guessing that’s because I had them on a dimmer switch. If I could connect the lights to my wifi, I would have replaced the switch. That may have fixed the problem.The main problem was, I couldn’t set up the bulbs because they would not detect my wifi, despite the fact my Echo is already connected to the wifi. When searching for available wifi, it detected every single wifi signal from my neighbors, but not mine.Finally, these feel really cheap. Compared to philips hue, these feel like a feather. Also, for the few minutes I had them turned on during my failed attempt to connect, the bulbs were already hot.I knew i should have just got the Hue and paid the premium price for a fast better product.Returning these
