Great Product
The NOCO Boost Plus GB40 is an incredibly handy tool. I love how compact it isâand most importantly, it works! We used it on a dead battery, and it started the car quickly with no issues. Its small size makes it easy to store, and itâs very user-friendly, even if youâre not mechanically inclined. The built-in flashlight is a great bonus, and it can even charge your phone in a pinch. Itâs one of those things you hope you never need, but youâll be so glad to have when you do. Highly recommend for every vehicle!

NOCO Boost Plus GB40
The NOCO Boost Plus GB40 is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Now, three more members of my family have one. I purchased one for my motorcycle since sometimes I donât ride for a while due to travel or weather. This gives me peace of mind knowing I can start the motorcycle no matter what. I once had to use it when commuting from work because I didnât notice I had left the flashlights on all day. Eventually, I ended up getting a GENIUS5, also from NOCO, to keep my battery charged. Since then, I havenât used the GB40, but I still keep it in my pannier, charged just in case.I was so happy with the GB40 that I recommended it to a family member. They got it and, fortunately, didnât need to use it. Then, on a recent trip to visit them, one of their cars had been parked for a couple of days with some lights turned on. The battery was completely dead, showing less than a Volt on a multimeter. Of course, the NOCO starter didnât recognize the battery as it was too low. We used the boost mode and were able to start the car with no issues. My family was so happy with the result that they bought two more to have one in each car. What I like:It has safety checks to prevent sparks, shorts, and reverse polarity (this also detects the voltage on the battery, which means if the battery has very low charge, it will fail to start in the normal mode). The boost mode disables all safety checks and works similarly to using cables from one car to another. This is a bit risky and you donât want to use it often, but when you need it, itâs a relief to have. The cables are short and seem of good quality. The crocodile clamps have a firm grip without damaging battery connectors.Itâs not bulky; I keep mine in one of the motorcycle panniers and it doesnât take up much space. I probably should have bought the GB20, which also has the boost mode but is cheaper, and for a motorcycle would be more than enough. However, I vaguely remember it was not available when I got mine. I donât regret it, though, as the GB40 can start a motorcycle (even a car) several times before needing to be charged again. You can use it as a lamp or emergency light, and also as a power bank for your phone or any other small device. What I donât like:Storing it in the provided bag works but feels a bit messy. Other models, such as the GB70, can accommodate the clamps on the starter, which seems much cleaner. There is a case you can buy, but that will consume space, which, in my case using a motorcycle, is not much of an option. The boost mode is not really a boost, just a safety-disabled mode. I donât like when companies use misleading names just to have a selling point.About the specs:I have no way to verify the claimed specs in the description, such as the 1000 Amps of discharge, but from a userâs perspective, it works with cars and motorcycles with no issues, even with flat dead batteries. In conclusion, I think this is a must-have. Hopefully, you donât need to use it, but like insurance, youâll be really happy to have it if you ever find yourself in a situation where you need it.

Highly recommend this! Itâs easy to use and dummy proof
Ok everyone who owns a car should own this. This jumper is AMAZING. I am not a car person at all. Iâve never jump start a car before despite having multiple dead car batteries. This product is seriously dummy proof. My only complaint was that I had to come back to the product page on Amazon to find out how to work it since the instructions wasnât in the box. Other that it was extremely easy and works! You just have to add the clips to the battery (red +, black -), power on the jumper, then turn the car on. Thats it! Highly recommend! It took about 15 minutes to fully charge the jumper before using. And the jumper is so small that it can easily be stored in your car!

Missing cable but works amazing with old one
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is an amazing battery jump pack!!! I loved my first one so much I bought a second one for my other car. I gave it 4-stars because in the second packaging, completely sealed, it was missing the extension cord to charge it in a cigarette lighter port. Other than that, itâs been good to me.Â

One of my best purchases from Amazon
This thing is amazing. I can’t believe I hesitated to buy this product. Here is my story:This past Sunday I woke up to my 2014 BMW X5’s flat battery. There was a cold snap and within a couple of days my battery was dead. The last time it was functional was Friday night. I called my auto shop on Monday and due to pretty much everyone in the area having dead batteries due to the cold snap, I couldn’t get an appointment for a week. I didn’t know if I should jump it, or call roadside assistance and drive it around to make sure the battery was fine before next Monday. Instead, I took a chance on this wonderful device. It came yesterday and I was already impressed with just the packaging. It’s minimal, sturdy, and accurate. Straight to the point packaging. I opened it up, and started charging the remaining battery. Apparently, it comes 75% charged and you have to do the rest. I used a USB-C cable from my computer and charged it full within minutes.By the way, the USB slots on this device are USB-C. I’ve seen a few reviews say that it’s MicroUSB. The one I purchased is USB-C which was another plus since you can use this to charge your phone.Fast forward to this morning. I let my car sit for another day, which I thought may have been a mistake. I went down to try to use this device to re-awaken my beast… his name is Benny. Benny the Beemer. Anyway…I attached the positive and negative clamps to the posts under my hood. For most BMW owners, those posts are connected directly to the battery which (in)conveniently is in the trunk behind a electrical trunk latch. BMW did a solid adding these posts under the hood so you didn’t have to mess with the trunk release.I turned the device on and the light appeared, but the LED’s for Boost weren’t “chasing” as the manual says. I figured my battery was completely deceased and I would have to call for RA or a tow. I checked the manual again and I missed the spot called “Manual Override”.Now, as a sci-fi geek, this intrigued me greatly. Manual Override you say? Yes, if your car has a completely flat battery, so flat that the device cannot detect that it’s even connected to a battery, it will not function within the safety limits. Meaning the device doesn’t know it’s connected to a battery so it will not provide the 2A charge for safety reasons. That’s what the Manual Override button is for. I love it. As soon as I pushed that button, the car came to life. It was like Frankenstein’s monster. Everything negative turned positive (NPI).See, the Manual Override sends the 2A charge without verifying it’s connected to a battery. This lifts the dead battery to at least 2A so you can try and start the car. The car came to life, the alarm started blaring so I jumped into the drivers seat, said a split second prayer to the car gods, and VROOOM! Benny was alive. This device is amazing. I will be buying one for everyone in my family. Everyone should have this device in their car.If it can bring back my 2.5T 11 year old 3.0L twin turbo beast, it can bring backs yours as well. This device can handle anything up to 6.0L for gas and 3.0L for diesel.Buy this now, especially if you live in colder climates.

Although this is the smallest of the range of jump starter power packs (GB40 1000amps) I found it to be extremely effective. It a in a different league to the older style jump starters being compact, powerful and effective. It is very good value for money. I found it easy to charge with a phone type USB charge cable and it reached 100% within a couple of hours. I have only used it so far to jump start a car with a dead battery and it worked brilliantly. It has more than one use as a phone charger, flashlight etc. Small portable with a convenient storage bag this is excellent value for money.

The NOCO battery booster is an absolute game-changer! I bought this as a backup for emergencies, and it has already saved me multiple times. The compact design makes it easy to store in my car, but donât let the size fool youâthis thing packs a serious punch.Jump-starting my dead battery was effortless. Just connect, power it on, and my car started instantly. No waiting, no hassle. The built-in safety features, like spark-proof technology and reverse polarity protection, give me peace of mind when using it.The added USB ports and flashlight are a great bonus, making it useful for charging devices or emergencies at night. If you want a reliable, high-quality jump starter, this is the one to get. Highly recommend! ðâ¡ð
