Has really helped to keep our granddaughter safe at our house.
Has really helped to keep our granddaughter safe at our house. Was easy to configure to our stairs and and baseboards when installing unlike others we looked at. Has been in place now for 6 months or so and has held us. Once we had to do a little adjusting so the it would latch and unlatch properly. It works great and we find it helpful now for keeping our senior dog from wandering down the stairs. Love that it can swing either direction to open.

Good and easy to install
It’s a really good gate and meets my requirement of having no bottom bar as a trip hazard.. Most importantly, it’s already packaged as-is and ready to install, not needing you to make measurements for individual mounts. It’s certainly way easier to install than the babybelio one.

Great child gate, not as tall as I thoughtâ¦
We have a very wide door jam, so this gate works exceptionally well. Measure the width of the door jam if you have narrow woodwork where the gate will go. We have another door where this gate would not have worked.On to the features:It swings both ways and stays open. Great feature!There are two locks. The one on the bottom we never use. We use the top lock/latch to open and close. This is brilliant to have two locks that work independently.It was VERY easy to install.It is very sturdy.Cons:It is not very tall. We are not using this for child safety, but recalling our âclimberâ son, he would have been over the gate at age 12 months.The screws are going to damage your woodwork, no question about it. You will either need to replace the wood or use a lot of wood filler, sanding and refinishing when you no longer need this gate.We are using it to keep our Ragdoll cat out of our bedroom at night, since my husband recently started experiencing asthma. Our cat is NOT a jumper and is easily trainable, so this gate works well for him, but I cannot imagine this working for any other domestic cat. My cats from the past would have leaped over this with ease, some having the ability to actually jump to the top of door jams. We are very fortunate that our Ragdoll cat follows commands and does not make any attempt to jump over, though he easily could. Not many cats are this agreeable or willing to obey.We are happy with the purchase. It is very well made, passed my husbandâs critical eye for quality and does what we expected. When the gate is no longer needed, the fun begins in restoring the door frame.

Great without ruining baseboards!
Was hesitant to buy this because of the plastic-y looking and bulky footprint of the wall pieces but we really didnât want to drill into our baseboards so needed something that would clear the height and go into the wall instead. Perfect compromise here, Iâd rather look at that eye sore than drill the base boards or buy expensive adapters. It is sturdy, and safe. I saw other reviews of the gate swinging open with a gentle push and that is not the case. They did not install that gate correctly because this is a secure gate that weâre using at the top of the stairway. I purposely abused it and it did not open at all. We installed it in such a way so that there is 5in of space between the floor and bottom of the gate so that our cat could barely squeeze under, but also so that our baby would not fit through. If that becomes an issue when she gets a little more clever then we can always reinstall it lower but I really donât think it will be a problem how we have it now. There is also two latches which you can flick up or down to control the direction that the door would swing in. Added bonus, put both of those latches down and I think the door would be extra secure, in addition to the locking mechanism, and would not swing in either direction. Worked for a Month and then…
This gate arrived July 27, 2018 (1.5 months ago!) and it was quite heavy for what it is. Packaging was very well written and detailed for installation. I had it partially installed and almost immediately my son stepped over it and the screws all pulled out from the wall. So I took the entire gate and brackets off the wall and reinstalled using wall anchors in new holes. It was very secure and had no issues until last week. Suddenly it was not unlatching. I could not open it with all my strength. I finally got it open and it has not been latched until today. Same issue. As soon as it locks shut the buttons don’t align in the mechanism which pushes down so it will not open. Very frustrating for an expensive gate. I have a lot of baby gates, in this case it is for a puppy so it receives little use. I fully intend to remove it from the walls and try to return it. I read another review which has said it pulled out of the wall nearly immediately, that is 100% accurate! There is no way this gate can stay in drywall and not pull off. See the photos above, clearly showing even with wall anchors that the screws are coming out again. These are in new holes from the first time it pulled out without using anchors. I now have a mess in my walls with 2 sets of holes to patch for each long bracket! Not at all happy. Can’t risk this thing jamming up again and not being able to open it.

Nice Once Installed Securely
Overall, we like this gate as long as you can get it installed correctly. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the included drywall screws will hold initially, but with repetitive use, they will rip out of the drywall. Ideally, you will need to install the gate into a stud, and/or use toggle bolts (1/8â x 2â worked well) to hold it securely to the drywall. We purchased two of these gates for our house. The first gate installed without issue. For some reason, the second gate we installed did not line up properly the first time. I ended up having to drill extra holes in the wall to get the appropriate alignment so the gate would latch securely. Happy now that everything is installed and squared away, but I deducted 2 starts for the difficult install and need to purchase extra hardware (toggle bolts) for installation.

Absolutely easy to install. The packaging makes it almost impossible to make a mistake. Only tools required are a Philips screwdriver and a level(not necessary, but I used one). Super easy to set up and adjust. Easy one handed opening of gate. Super simple to adjust width. Hopefully it lasts a while, but I anticipate it shouldn’t be a problem.

Es tal cual la foto, la instalación puede ser algo molesta, ya que los tornillos que trae no son buenos para concreto, pero queda muy bien.El único problema es la manija para abrir la puerta, esta algo dura, y puede complicarse abrirla con una mano que creo es algo esencial en este tipo de puertas.
