If youâre looking for an affordable, dependable baby monitor, the VTech is a great choice.
Weâve been using the VTech Baby Monitor Camera for a few years now, and overall, weâre really happy with it. The setup was very straightforwardâjust plug in the camera, pair it with the monitor, and it was ready to go. The video quality is clear enough during both day and night thanks to the automatic infrared night vision. Good picture and sound quality. The screen is bright and shows a clear image of the nursery. Two-way talk lets us soothe our baby without entering the room.

I do NOT like this baby monitor!!!
This monitor has a lot of issues. First of all I tried to set it up to my wifi and it worked, however it made the screen so pixelated I couldn’t even see my baby’s face. So I had to take off the wifi and just use it the normal way. Then once using it I realized there is a delay, so every time baby cries I hear the cry in real time and a second later hear the cry again on the monitor which is very annoying!!! So it’s no bad enough to have a baby screaming at 3am, but now we hear it twice! The monitor also randomly shuts off for no reason saying it’s out of range. I did a test and counted how many steps it was from my room to my baby’s room, and it was 21 steps so about 21 feet. I don’t know how it could ever be out of range. Once it’s out of range I have to go into the baby’s room like 3 feet away to restart the thing for it to connect. It is dangerous for this to happen as often as it dose, the only saving grace is that it beeps when it happens, but I still have to get out of bed and risk waking the baby just to restart it in his room. I also had an issue one night with the temperature off by 10 degrees! I have a independent room thermometer in the room to double check, and it was a full 10 degrees difference. The monitor said it was 60 degrees when it was really 70 which is a big difference. I am considering buying a different one even though I spent a lot on this because it just isn’t good. I would look elsewhere. **One update, the temperature has gotten so off now there are times it says the baby’s room is 20°F! And we are talking middle of the summer when the house is like 72° so yeah not good.

Works well, battery sucks
I wanted to wait a few months to use this before writing a review.So far this baby monitor has worked well. There has been a few frustrations but for the most part it works as intended.The good:-Large screen-Clear picture-Good sound-Camera is able to move around and zoom in/out-I like that it has a dimming mode. After so much time the screen will dim so itâs not so bright in your face all night.The bad:-We have had several instances where the monitor just doesnât work. It says itâs not connected to the camera. Sometimes we have to unplug the camera just to get the monitor to work again. It was happening quite often in the beginning. So much so that my husband wanted to return it. Practically every time we tried turning it on it wouldnât work at first. We always had to wait 5-10 minutes, turn the monitor off and on a few times or just unplug the camera in order for the screen to come up. But recently we havenât had any more issues. I began to realize if I tried turning the monitor on while it was plugged up it seemed to cause issues. If I take it off the wall plug in and then turn it on it doesnât have any issues. Not sure why that is. But just be aware. Other reviews mention this problem as well.-The battery sucks. Thereâs no kind way to put it. The monitor will barely last 2 hours. Even if you have it turned off. Once you take it off the wall plug-in donât expect it to last long. Even if itâs turned off all the way the battery still drains. This is something vtech really needs to look at improving.

Perfect monitor
This is perfect. The screen is large and heavy so you cant exactly treat it like a walkie talkie like some of the older styles ive used. But its the size of your phone, so just treat it the same way – with care (for some of you….).It comes with a mount that allows it to hang and get the full 180 to see down which is great.Only complaint, i cant flip the screen to view it….i have to turn the screenupside down.

Good quality for the price
Easy set up, practical for use at home and easy online setup when you have to leave your baby with a sitter. Reasonable battery life if powered down when not in use. Night vision quality good and can also be turned off and keep sound only. Overall good product for price.

Me parece un excelente producto. Es nÃtida la imagen y el sonido es claro. Lo mejor es que desde donde esté (mi oficina) puedo ver a través del celular a mi bebé mientras está en casa. La única debilidad es la baterÃa, pero nada extraordinario, se puede mantener conectado, y cuando realmente sea necesario desconectarlo. Gran producto.

Ainda está em avaliação, pois não comecei a usar ainda, pois minha bebê ainda não nasceu, mas de primeira impressão gostei muito! Tem várias funcionalidades interessantes como músicas, avisa em caso de mudanças de temperaturas, possibilidade de falar, maior ou menor sensibilidade a barulhos e movimentos. Me parece muito boa e funcional. Precisa estar conectada a tomada tanto a câmera quanto o monitor e a vantagem é ser bivolt. Apesar de o conector de tomada ser da Inglaterra facilmente consegui ligar com um adaptador universal. Espero continuar gostando.

Works as expected with one missing feature.. the camera unit always has to be plugged in with charger .. and doesnât have a battery backup so cannot be placed anywhere.

I should have listened to the other reviews. The camera doesnât connect to the wifi network and connection to the monitor is shaky. In the first week of use, the monitor lost connection with the camera and we had to restart the camera to get it back working properly. I canât believe this is an Amazonâs choice product. Itâs a great concept but a real peace of junk.

We bought this a year ago for £69. Itâs now more than double!! I would not recommend this product even for £69, the picture quality/quality of the screen has completely deteriorated, the sound is okay but the connection to either the monitor or the app is very hit and miss, and only deteriorates over time as the aerial slowly breaks
