When starting your search for a bike rack, the best place to start is by asking yourself: where on your car do you want to carry bikes?
WHAT IS A BIKE RACK?
A bike rack is a type of bicycle accessory that attaches to a vehicle to transport one or more bikes.
WHICH BIKE RACK IS BEST FOR ME?

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TRANSPORT?

Customers say
Customers find the bike rack sturdy and well-built, with one mentioning it survived a 3-hour trip, and they consider it worth the money. The installation process receives mixed feedback, with some finding it easy to install while others report poor instructions. The fit and strap durability are also mixed aspects – while it fits well on Honda CRVs, customers report issues with 3 odd-sized bikes, and many find it impossible to keep the straps sufficiently tightened. Additionally, the rack has scratch resistance issues, with customers reporting that the plastic scratches easily.

Great bike rack for the money
After several days of searching for a bike rack for my mustang mach e I bought this one. Honestly I was a bit hesitant.During the installation I took my time, used silicon pads to protect the window and paint.Once all the straps were tight I used tie wraps to ensure the straps were not going to loosen.Weâve used this rack on several 150+ mile trips on highways, around town, etc.. There has been no issues, i.e no wobbling. One BIG item I would recommend purchasing are the stabilizer bars that attach to the bike frame to load on the rack. They keep the bike level.I have been extremely impressed with the overall quality and how this bike rack is built.

This Bike Rack Outclassed My Long Lasting Previous Rack In EVERY Way.
I have been researching many different bike racks to replace my old Yakima bike rack. I first saw the Saris Bones rack on my neighbors car. I was drawn by the easiness of mounting/unmounting the straps. On Yakima bike racks, the bikes are held on by these rubber bike straps which took up a lot of force and strength to strap in. This rack uses these plastic straps that are unsecured by holding it down and pulling out the strap. This might not seem like much but when you are doing this on a constant basis with multiple bikes you will appreciate the ease of use (at least compared to what I was using). The plastic straps themselves are very secure and do a great job of holding the bikes in place. I took three bikes on a 300+ mile trip and through bumps, hard turns, and highways the rack held up fine with no noticeable looseness. With three adult road bikes they each still have enough space between them to not overlap. The rack itself is installed the same way most trunk racks are mounted on the car with nylon straps that go around the trunk. Another feature that may go unnoticed is the tube in the middle of the bike rack allows you to stuff the excess straps in for a cleaner and more organized mount. This will prevent the constant flapping of the straps that may distract you or hit the bikes during trips. The mount arms can be adjusted and mount into place using a thumbwheel. I don’t usually keep the rack on my car unless I need to but from what I have seen the metal at the end of the nylon straps haven’t done any noticeable damage to my paint or trunk.Overall, the bike rack is the best bike rack I have ever used (or seen) and I have converted many people to this bike rack just by people watching me use it. If you don’t mind the pricier tag I would highly recommend.

This fool promises it’s foolproof
I am a grade-A dolt when it comes to assembling or using mechanical objects. Yeah, thatâs me over there, looking perplexedly at the tiny, language-free instructions printed at some plant in China. Yeah, thatâs me looking back and forth from the diagram to the assembly objects and wondering why they donât look like each other. Yeah, thatâs me damaging my new purchase because I assembled it wrong. Yeah, thatâs me posting some screed on Facebook about why nothing comes with decent instructions anymore. To make matters worse here Iâm not really an experienced bicyclist â in fact I had never before transported bikes by rack before buying this. I got this because I was tired of bicycling with my daughter on the same old streets in our neighborhood, and I wanted to get away to somewhere we wouldnât have to cross traffic every few pedals. So basically, if there was a way to mess up the installation of this bike rack I would have found it. And then I would have posted a critical review about it. But this thing was foolproof enough that even I was able to do it. And when I say foolproof, I do mean foolproof, because I am a top-of-the-line fool.Basically the rack consists of three legs that mount against the bumper and the trunk of the car; theyâre quite easy to adjust and to lock in place. Then you have little clips that respectively get attached to the top, side and bottom of your trunk. Finally there are three connection points for strapping each bicycle into place. I was able to get the rack mostly into place without difficulties. On the test run I found that Iâd not pulled the side straps tight enough and so the rack was bouncing around too much. But I was able to fix that and our subsequent transporting seems to have gone quite easily with the rack staying firmly in place.Of all the design elements of this rack Iâd give the highest marks to the straps for fastening the bicycles â very well designed and easy to manipulate and keep the bikes secure. Of course I still managed to do things imperfectly at first, not positioning the second bike in the optimal way on the first run (had a little trouble with the curved bar of the girlâs bike). But I figured that out by the second run.The most challenging (relatively speaking) element of the rack is the set of clips for attaching to the sides of the trunk. It takes a little work to make sure those straps are tight enough. And the clips take a little dexterity to get in and out of the slots. Now, this was where my natural incompetence truly came into play â after taking the rack off I belatedly noticed that the clips are clearly marked âTOP,â âSIDE,â and âBOTTOM.â And of course Iâd reversed the side and top clips. No wonder it was hard to get those side clips out â they were actually the top clips, made to attach to another place entirely! Iâll get that right next time.Anyway, well-designed, foolproof, easy to transport and store. Very easy to detach, fold up and store in oneâs trunk. Quite happy with this!

Need to Add Padding Between Bikes & Not for Full Suspension Bikes
This is a great rack and Iâve owned the 2 bike version in the past. It holds the bikes well, and the rack doesnât wobble around too much as long as you tighten the hitch bolt all the way.Just be aware that if you want to get three full size adult bikes on here, the frames need to be spacious in the middle to fit over everything and onto the furthest back spot. Also youâll need to put some sort of buffer between them so the bikes donât scratch each other up. I use a pool noodle that I cut into segments and down one side so they fit around the frame/suspension forks. You could feasibly get a full sus bike on the last spot, but not the inner two. Also, mine came with a broken arm and they sent the replacement part with no fuss. Good company to work with.

Love it!
Got this during covid and had it for several years now. It was easy to put on the car and I love how it tilts down to help me get my bikes on and off. And so I can open my hatchback. Initially I ordered this product from another company but after several days I found out they didn’t have any in stock. I contacted company directly and they were able to help me out. Their customer service was awesome. They got me hooked up with this item and I love it. Use it all the time when the weather is nice.

No vale para la Orbea rise, no entra en el hueco del cuadro y habrÃa que apoyarlo sobre la suspensión trasera y no sobre el cuadro. La calidad del producto no es mala.

I’ve used trunk racks for many years, so the Saris Bones EX was no surprise to me. But… the build quality is head and shoulders above the pack. They recommend “Hatch Huggers” for my vehicle (Toyota Venza), so I bought those as well. They are a bit fiddly to install, but no big deal in the end.I use the rack to transport my Giant Fathom E+2 EMTB (battery removed) and it is VERY solid around corners and over bumps. Yes, the bike weight exceeds the 35lb per bike limit, but based on the fact that the rack is rated for 3 – 35lb bikes I feel that as long as I keep the bike closest to the vehicle I should have no problems. The straps that hold the bikes to the rack are excellent, and the adjustments are easy to make.I thinks it’s great.

Completamente recomendado.

Never having used any product like this before, I was a bit apprehensive and wasn’t sure it if was going to fit my car or if it will work.As suggested by another reviewer, I chose to watch a video instead of following the 2 page instructions, which was a good call I think. Wasn’t too difficult to set it up, having 2 people helped as one person was able to hold the rack in place while the other put on the clips to various places on the car & tighten the belts.Took about 10 mins to set it up and we were ready to go. We needed to use only one bike for now, which fitted quite well. I had separately ordered a couple of straps to keep the front wheel steady, which came in handy. We drove from Birmingham to Cambridge on combination of motorway & A roads, and had no issues. By the end of the trip, we did notice the rack had gotten a bit wonky, most probably because I didn’t tighten one side of the belt properly. Or perhaps the clip could have moved a little, loosening the belt a little.Overall, quite happy with it. Now the issue is where to store it, as it’s not small :). Need to find a place in the shed.
