Excessive heat caused by leaving the unit plugged in longer than recommended can break down the dye, leading to black or dark hues. While this affects the indicator beads’ color-changing function, the moisture-absorbing beads inside remain effective.

Is it normal for the dehumidifier to become very hot during the renewal cycle?

It’s normal for the unit to become warm during renewal, as the internal heating element dries out the silica gel. Ensure the unit is placed on a heat-resistant surface in a well-ventilated area during the renewal cycle.

What should I do if the beads don’t change color after the renewal cycle?​

If the beads remain dark after the recommended renewal cycle, unplug the unit and let it cool to room temperature. Then, gently shake the unit and plug it in for a second renewal cycle. Do not leave unit plugged in beyond recommended cycle time.
