I Love EGO
65 yr old woman living in a log cabin on 5 acres with 3 dogs and a paraplegic. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my EGO tools! 6 year EGO user. Lightweight, powerful, reliable, easy to maintain, batteries and tools interchangeable. Power Station saved my frozen food during 22-hour power outage with plenty of power left for another day. So lightweight this old gal can move it around. The big batteries work great in my EGO chainsaws. My other batteries work in the power station. Perfect! Enough said?

Ego generator with 7.5 batteries
Why would you purchase this? You have power tools that arenât cordless and youâre using them away from power. You throw tailgating partiesYou have extra batteries and you want back up power just in caseYou like to camp but due to health reasons need power to sleep (note ego put a disclaimer on this and wants no liability for life support failed)Iâm going to assume you have ego products already because they are the overall best products out there. This is what you do with the extra batteries.First off… gotta love the bidding war on amazon. This is currently 760 with shipping. Bare is 655. This is a 1200 tool… so, now is the time to purchase. This comes with two 7.5amp 5 bar power indicators, and upgrade long awaited for. The transformer and cord are stored on top of the generator. The generator will charge 4 batteries (goodbye slow chargers, you have been consolidated) and the screen shows how many bars each battery has. Love it. It also shows how long until charging is complete for all batteries. It charges by rotating between all of them… so my two dead 7.5 and two slightly used 5 amp will all be done charging in 9 hours. If you need emergency charging, keeping a rapid charge available will be good. For my uses, more than 4 batteries is overkill so the slow speed works.Installation consists of installing two rain covers for the vent, and plugging in cords. The plugs ports are 4 usb and 3 standard USA plugs. The covers spring up with a push of a button. It looks like you push a button to activate them. The batteries slip on to the sides. Two on each side. When running, the indicator identifies time on batteries.I recommend googling video reviews. The two review sites I prefer both have testing and reviews up. Iâll update as I play with this. One thing this wonât do is supply power while charging. Bummer. This my spoil the tool for some. Another question I see has to do with sine waves. I know nothing about that other than the answer is yes this is clean power âpure sine waveâ per other reviews and will work for electronics. While it states 3000w, itâs 3000w surge and 2000watt normal with a 7.5amp battery. 1200w with 5amp and 600w with 2-2.5amp. If I read the review site right, you just need batteries to build up to the amps… so 4 2.5 gets you past the 7.5amp.I love it and the price war brought it down to a price Iâll purchase. I may even add more at the current prices. If you review against alternatives, the current price wars have made this a no brainer back up solution (assuming no power when charging isnt an issue). When the price wars are done, the price makes other solutions potentially better, but you can also use batteries to mow the lawn.Online sources for videos and detailed reviews: Kite army and protool review. I use them frequently before purchases as well as other sources. Conclusion: if you have ego tools and have a need, this is a no brainer, particularly at current amazon price points. 760 all in is ridiculous.

It’s hard not to expect too much, may well deserve 5 stars.
Facing the front panel, this power station is 15″ tall, 20″ front to back and 13″ wide (and up to 6″ wider depending on the batteries used). It weighs just over 30 pounds, WITHOUT batteries, a dolly is recommended. This is NOT a generator. It is basically a charging and power distribution unit for the batteries you must attach to it. The batteries number from one to four and range from 4 to 10 amps (12?). Simplistically, the more batteries of higher amperage the more power and running time you’ll have (and batteries are expensive). This is a TRICKLE charger for the attached batteries and, as such is SLOW. It was interesting to note the way the charge took place; each battery in turn got service for a few minutes then the unit switched to the next one and repeated. It took twelve hours to fully charge four depleted 7.5 amp batteries. By the way, EGO batteries only discharge 80% so you don’t destroy them by over discharge. You could use a rapid charger then move the battery to the station. It has three 3-prong outlets and four USB-A ports (both selected by push button) (if you need micro or c there’s adapters). It WILL run a full-size refrigerator, freezer or TV, but time is limited, and toaster ovens will drain the juice fast. Also I’ve read that its safe for electronics ( true sine wave). In a test, an electric teapot didn’t take any longer to come to a boil than it did plugged into the wall socket. In use, it is quiet but not silent. It has an internal fan to help keep it cool. For short term use, tailgating or emergencies this power station is expected to be handy if not essential, but not ideal for long-term.Solar power is an ( expensive ) option, but without going into any detail, I am inclined to believe it’s not practical. On the plus side, it’s relatively quiet, safe to use indoors, clean and easy to operate.I expect this to be a worthwhile purchase. My wife pointed out that this power station is the only means we have to raise our power recliners if we lose power while watching TV. 😉

EGO tools rule !
Just a thought on ego tools in general . Hope thats ok. I got the line trimmer to start with. Love it . Since then I think I’ve gotten everything they make , except for the lawnmower . And so far it all works great . So powerful ; it takes a little bit to get use to it . I’m glad they have the back pack link thing . Like Buck Rogers or something , ; but the tools get a little heavy , I’d hate to have to swing those tools around with one of the big batteries on the tool . I’m not in shape like before retirement. I have a couple of the 7.5 Ah , a couple 5.0 , and 1 2.5 batteries , and I could run any of the tools for days probably , with that much juice . My favorite has to be th blower . Not the backpack blower ,but the biggest regular leaf blower they make . The coolest yard tool I’ve ever used . Use it for everything . Thats enough . I hope it helps . ego tools . I love all of them
