These bamboo toothbrushes have very soft bristles. They are designed as well as they can be, but I wish the top was pointier to get behind the back teeth. With soft bristles you need to be more thorough. These will last a good while and are a good deal for so many brushes and a bonus floss. These are individually wrapped so good for travel.

Too eco-friendly to work well
If biodegradable and eco-friendly are your priorities in a toothbrush, then the Purely Calm bamboo toothbrush is for you. If cleaning your teeth is the priority, these will not be your best bet.They come individually wrapped with a bonus spool of eco-friendly dental floss, which is a nice touch. 2 of the 10 have carbon infused bristles, but wrappers are not marked. If you look closely under bright light, you can make them out without opening the wrappers.Taking one from a wrapper, first thing I noticed was the bristles were a bit smushed. They are a tight fit in the box so expect they all have some degree of it. The wood is nicely finished and smooth, the handles give good grip. The total bristle width is relatively narrow, and the head is a bit large for the bristle area. Part of that is the head does not taper toward the top as is typical to reach back corner molars.I was struck by how soft the bristles were. I missed the manufacturer calling out Ultra Soft for firmness. That is a very accurate description. For comparison, I normally use a Colgate soft toothbrush and the Purely Calm is quite a bit softer with finer bristles.After two brushings, the bristles did partially fluff back up, but still have some bend. The narrower row of bristles wasn’t an issue, but the larger head is not ideal. The wide leading edge gets in the way a bit in the back corners. The bristles are too soft, they simply don’t do the job as well, especially at the gum line. Brushing right after with my standard toothbrush, I could tell my teeth were cleaner. If you have super sensitive gums or temporarily need something very gentle after some dental work, these may work for you.The floss frays immediately on trying to get it thru tight gaps. Unless all your teeth have wide gaps, don’t expect to be able to use it.I am sure some tradeoffs may be expected with eco-friendly being the focus, but the tradeoffs here are too much. If I had to guess, I’d say 0 out of 5 dentists would recommend.

Very good bamboo toothbrushes
All the 10 toothbrushes are wrapped similarly without any distinction to determine which ones are charcoal. There should at least be a black stripe on the packaging of the charcoal ones.I really like that these dental products are biodegradable and eco-friendly.BAMBOO TOOTHBRUSH:I use a soft-bristled toothbrush upon my dentist’s recommendation and this bamboo toothbrush has the right softness in its bristles. It also has a slim head so it’s easy to maneuver in the molar areas in my mouth where I used a small kiddie toothbrush to reach in. The flat handle makes the toothbrush lay flat on the counter unlike my regular toothbrush that sort of rolls on its side. Although the handle is slim, it’s comfortable for me (petite 5′) and my husband (6′) to hold.CHARCOAL-INFUSED TOOTHBRUSH:I didn’t use it because my dentist said that although it’s antimicrobial, it’s abrasive and can erode the enamel and irritate gums.FLOSS:I was so excited to try it but alas, it’s not meant for people like me with crowded teeth. I can only use waxed floss otherwise unwaxed floss just snags badly between my teeth. I like the reusable bottle container although I wish the shape can accommodate regular floss.

Wonderful set of 10 toothbrushes and 1 pack of dental floss.
Iâm very happy with this set of ten individually packaged bamboo toothbrushes and one great looking dental floss.Each of the toothbrushes are wrapped in white paper and it came with 8 bamboo bristles and 2 charcoal bristles with all 10 having bamboo handles.I was surprised to see a pack of dental floss which came in a reusable, tiny glass jar.Both the toothbrushes and dental floss in a jar look so chic in my bathroom.Since the toothbrushes were all individually wrapped, I could not tell which ones had the bamboo or charcoal bristles and I did not want to open each one just to find out so I randomly unwrapped one and I got the toothbrush with the charcoal bristles.The bristles are very soft and felt gentle while using it. The smooth bamboo handles feel very comfortable to hold while brushing.The non-waxed dental floss inside the glass jar helped me finished my oral care routine.Iâm very grateful that I got this set as itâs eco-friendly since the bamboo used is sustainably sourced. I highly recommend this set and would buy it again.
