Good mower, with one minor design flaw
Of note:I chose the 144-cc engine over the Briggs and Stratton version, because I wanted more power for mulching. I would have preferred using the Briggs and Stratton engine, since that’s all I’ve ever owned, but the power was not as high as the other option. So far, this has been the right choice. It remains to be seen over the years if it will last as long as a B&S.What I Liked:I’ve used this mower now for 4 mowings of my lawn. It has performed well and I’m quite satisfied. It was very easy to put together and the instructions were clear. It feel light, starts easily, and the engine is not nearly as loud as my previous mower. It mulches well and I very much like the one lever that adjusts the mowing height on all four wheels at once! What I didn’t Like:Like many mowers of its kind, you have to prime the engine prior to starting it. The primer “button/bulb” is made of a stiff, rubber-like material. Because of its stiffness, you have to push it very quickly to get any gas flowing into the carburetor. You can feel it when it’s working (and when it’s not). So priming the engine takes about 5 or 6 pushes to get enough gas in there to start the engine easily. Hopefully, this button will soften up over time and priming will be easier. This is a minor annoyance and not a real problem.Unlike many mowers of its kind, this mower has a rubber “skirt” fastened to the back of the deck. I imagine this exists to protect you from flying debris should you run over something that could potentially fly out the back. A nice idea, but poorly designed. This flap tends to slide under the mower when you pull it back toward you. Mine got under there AND detached from one side of the deck and then got caught in the blade, which promptly chewed it up. So no more “skirt” for me (see photos). But – I really don’t care, because none of my other mowers have ever had such a thing and I highly doubt anything will ever hit me flying out the back. If it does, I’ll come back here and let you know. This cost them one star on this review. The bottom line:This is a quality mower at a good price. It works well, except for the rubber “skirt”, and is a good replacement for my previous mower. I recommend!

Great little mower
Starts first pull , mows well but the grass shute falls off at the slightest touch, very agrevating but still a minor issue. Arrived quickly in great shape. Recommend purchase.

Piece of junk
1st time using this piece of junk the height adjustment does not hold causing the mower to scalp my yard about every 10 feet. I had to use wire ties to secure the adjustment mechanism to prevent it from destroying my yard. It chopped the top right off one of my sprinklers which has never happened in 6 years cutting my lawn here. The side shoot that allows the grass to come out instead of building up under the mower does not stay in place at all! Every time I pulled the mower back from a cut the shoot fell of resulting in having to stop the mower a dozen times during about 20 minutes of mowing. Every time I started the brand new mower it let out a large puff of whiite smoke which makes me think the oil seals are also no good out of the box. DO NOT BUY THIS MOWER!

So far so good.
This is a much better mower than I had expected. Starts fairly easy, 2nd or 3rd pull. My old Yardman 20 inch was the easiest mower to start I have ever owned. First pull every time, even after sitting all winter. It’s a shame that amazon doesn’t sell them anymore. I use the push mower for trimming, the 20 inch is much better for that; lighter and easier to handle. Overall this mower was a good purchase so far but time will tell. I haven’t had it long enough to give a good assessment of its performance.
