Great device overall, once you understand how it works
PROS:ReliableFairly CompactVersatileCONS:Requires separate powerForm factor might work better as a dongle as opposed to a brickGreat device overall. Does what I need it to do. Just to be clear about what this is: This is a Zigbee-controlled device that simply switches a USB connection on or off. This means it can be used in between a USB power brick and a USB device to turn something on or off or some people use it to connect or disconnect a USB data connection since it also works for that. These are very specific use cases but as long as you know what you’re buying, it works great. This biggest thing to note is that IT DOES NOT PROVIDE POWER. If your USB source is not providing power, this will be useless. This means it needs to be connected to a powered device such as a USB power brick, computer, car, charger, or anything that is providing USB power. The only bad thing I can say about it is that its form-factor might be an issue in some cases considering it’s cube-shaped. If it were shaped like a dongle it might allow it be used in tighter spaces.

They work great!
I use Home Assistant for my smart home. These work great! I bought 2 of them for 2 tablets. These are older tablets that don’t have the battery maintenance option, so I can set these plugs to turn on/off at 20% or 80% battery charge. Not I don’t have to worry about battery over charging. I did lose another device to that. Plus I didn’t need anything else added to my smart home setup to get these to work! No additional Sonoff app, api, etc. They connected directly to HA and I would get more of they also had USB-C, too. Then I could set the phone charger in the bedroom for 50% to 80%. My phone automatically stops at 80%, but I’m on call 24×7 every other week, so I’ll have a mostly charged phone, at minimum, if I get called out in the middle of the night

Used the generic zigbe profile, not the sonoff template, controls my kids led lights so they are not on all night long. Not sure about the app since I just use Hubitat, but gets the job I needed done perfectly.

I picked this product because the Amazon AI assured me that it would work with my Aqara M100 hub.As far as I can determine, it does not.Since Sonoff has handed off responsibility to a third party app, I now have a 3-way responsibility split â is the problem Sonoffâs, Aqaraâs, or eWeLinkâs?No way to tell.This is just another reason to avoid Zigbee â it is a fragmented ecosystem, with everybody pointing fingers at everybody else.Â

A USB powered USB Smart Adapter that works!
Finally, a USB powered USB Smart Adapter that works! I’ve tried several Wi-Fi versions of this adapter and they either don’t work or aren’t easy to configure. Ironically Sonoff creates this exact same adapter using a Wi-Fi controller which is horrible I was never able to get that one to register or pair after 45 minutes of trying (it also forced download of eWelink app).This version (Zigbee) of the adapter paired immediately, I was able to pair and configure both of these adapters in less than 5 minutes directly in SmartThings without having to install any 3rd party app. The Zigbee 3.0 radio requires a Zigbee smart hub, other reviewers state that got these paired in several other Smart hub controller solutions.Beyond that the adapter supports all automations to control power onoff events. Google home and Alexa are also supported for voice support and automation integration into those platforms. The switch supports 4.6amp vs 2.5amp for other similar Wi-Fi adapters. This is great as PD level charge speeds are supported with this adapter. I’m using this in my small Solar installation. I’ve got four super-fast 3.0 QI charging ports configured and with these adapters I can now control the power on and charge state of any USB device connected.

Perfect zigbee usb plug
Perfect for a usb desk lamp. Doesnât take up too much space in the plug brick I use. The only âquirkâ is my Alexa hub doesnât recognize that the plug did indeed turn on or off so Iâll get a no response message when I use Alexa to trigger but it definitely turned on or off.

Got these to fix a zigbee network that was constantly dropping off devices here and there, sometimes after minutes sometimes after days, since installing these in some locations throughout the house the links of devices all skyrocketed to 120+ link quality and my whole network seems to be stable, now its been a few days and no drop offs have happened!Using these with zigbee2mqtt pairing was fast and the rf turbo mode is available and turning it on increased the link quality even more. Since i got low amounts of 2.4ghz equipment this is not an issue.The plus side is the toggle for the usb port, fibally a way to turn a “smart” led light on and off with automation.The switch is silent, has no sound what so ever when turning on or off.Definitely a great addition to my zigbee network all sems to be stable and happy. The ends are a bit bulky but not a problem.Can be powered from a wall outlet, a phone charger or any usb port really.Might be a bit expensive but worth it. Works with aqara sensors as well as tuya and sonoff.
