For the first time, Charlie Sheen, the star of Platoon, Wall Street, Major League, and Two and a Half Men, writes the story of his extraordinary life in an unfiltered memoir.
“We can live the stories or hear about them later from others. I choose the former.”
Charlie Sheen should not be alive to write this book.
But in The Book of Sheen, the movie and TV star, who has defied the odds, finally presents his story, in his own words.
Charlie Sheen was born the third of four children to actor Martin Sheen and his wife, Janet. He grew up on film sets—from his father’s all over the world, to his own in Malibu. There he made ambitious Super 8s, with a roster of friends who went on to become household names themselves, including his brother Emilio, Sean and Chris Penn, and the Lowe brothers.
Sheen broke into movies in the 1980s, playing a hoodlum in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, a young soldier in Platoon, and an ethically compromised trader in Wall Street. But somewhere along the way, despite a successful transition to TV leading man in Spin City and Two and a Half Men, Sheen descended into a vortex of extracurricular activities.
Now sober, Sheen delivers a clear-eyed narrative of his highs and lows with humor, candor, and a vivid, captivating writing style that is uniquely his. The Book of Sheen comes across like a far-fetched, overstuffed novel of Hollywood life—yet it is all true.

Well Written and a Good Read
Just got this yesterday and I’m a third the way through it. I have read some of Charlie’s poetry so I knew he could write. So far, this book does not disappoint. It’s well thought out, well edited and I’m getting more information than I did in the Netflix documentary. I’ve been a fan for years and I’m glad to see Charlie out publicly talking about his issues and his life. I think this could help others. I know I’m enjoying the book.

Serious Self Destruction Story
Very good story, a bit intense so I read over it a few days. As a recovering Druggie and Alkie none of it was really shocking. He shoulda stuck with the women! Thanks Charlie

Heâs sober and doing good
The book was good but he doesnât get into why did Denise divorce him , or why did he divorce brook, were was his kids during the drinking and druggie days he doesnât say what kind of relationship he has with his kids . Did he love the kid that played Jake what he thought about Ashton muncher taking his place I think he needs to ride another one be a bit more honest and more deeper

missing
It seems like a crazy ride but definitely lots left out. Think you could just watch the Netflix documentary and call it good

Itâs a fitting reflection of his life
In his book, he explores the paradox of his brilliance and self-destruction, his journey from his childhood with a famous father to the chaotic peak of his career. I loved it!

An Addictâs Spiral and Recovery Awakening
It took a week and a couple of nightmares to get through. Cringed at times reading about his sex, drug and booze addiction. The only way out is through. Mangoes save lives. Glad he is clean and sober and hope he keeps the ego in check to do so.

Disappointing
Two and a Half Men is one of my favorite shows of all time, that is the first 8 episodes with Sheen. If you expect this book to cover those years in depth forget it. Approx 10 pages cover the show with a few mentions of his co-stars.This book reads like a journal from his growing up to today covering all his trials and tribulations. Very disappointing. No real insights. Should have just watched the Netflix documentary and called it a day.

Lacking
All about me like the rest of his life. Fans want to hear the stories of Melanie Lynskey falling off the deck. Stories about the shows, movies and peopleâs interactions with him. But no sharing from this guy itâs just purely about him and his booze and drug filled binge of the last 40 years. Couldâve been a good entertaining and interesting read. Itâs not. Save your money.

Leider kam das Buch leicht beschädigt an! Mehrere Seiten sind an einer Stelle leicht eingerissen… Da es ein Geschenk ist, ist dies sehr unangenehm! Für einen Umtausch fehlt leider die Zeit 🙁 schade

This review is not about the book since I just received it but the cover is damaged and it was just released so how could that be – itâs all flaking off and could be a danger to my grandson and animals
