Homeowners tool
We just had a roofer come out to clean the moss off of our roof & they let us know what our roof life was, and that we were eligible for and overlay to extend the life of the roof. My husband used this tool to get on the roof & verify what they were saying was indeed correct and honest. It was just a little piece of mind to make sure we weren’t going to be taken advantage of. Being a homeowner this is a nice little self check tool to have, so you don’t always have to call someone out to evaluate. Be mindful that the composite gauge is only good for roofs installed PRIOR to Jan. 2011, and there are 2 other gauges depending on the material you’re working with.

Great quality and product, but be aware this is not a “2 pack”
First off, this is a great quality tool. The steel is thick and durable, clearly marked, and as a bonus includes a 5-inch ruler on one side, and the carabiner to keep it close and secure while climbing the ladder. Based on quality alone, it is a 5-star product. The star deductions were only for the misleading item description.This tool was listed as: “4/09 Shingle Gauge 2Pack, Roof Shingles Measuring Tool, Roof-Pitch Gauge with Carabiner for Measuring The Thickness of Roof Tiles”Clearly stating “2 Pack” in the title, while also showing what appears to be 2 separate tools in the picture and then stating “2 pieces” in the written description, leads you to believe that you will receive 2 separate tools. (I know the carabiner technically makes it 2 pieces, but that still seems misleading).In reality what was received is ONE 2-sided tool with an attached carabiner (2nd piece?). Combining both gages into one two-sided tool is convenient and is actually an appreciated move, but it does not qualify it as “two pieces” or a “2 pack” in my mind.I genuinely thought that I would receive 2 separate and identical tools, one of which would have served as my backup if the first one got lost. Not a big deal, since I don’t actually need two, but I do find the description misleading, and I want to make sure that others are aware of what they are really purchasing.

Handy and Specialized Tool for Roofing Pros (2-Pack Included)
Even though itâs a niche tool, itâs incredibly useful if you work with shingles. Helps quickly estimate the age and type of asphalt shingles by thickness â great for inspections and roof assessments. Comes as a set of two, plus a carabiner for easy attachment. Simple, compact, and does exactly what itâs supposed to.

Good tool, no issues
Others have stated issues with only receiving one, however the seller did in fact send 2 to me.Very sturdy steel construction. Now i have 1 for my tool bag and 1 to keep in my truck for backup. Works well and i appreciate the carabiner clip they came with.
