Customers say

Customers find the lawn mower to be of good quality and easy to assemble, with a powerful engine that performs reasonably well. However, the functionality receives mixed feedback, with some reporting it stops working too soon. Moreover, the cut quality and ease of start are mixed aspects – while it cuts grass nicely, it struggles with thick grass, and some find it difficult to start. Additionally, the frame durability is concerning, with reports of the aluminum handles snapping in half and the rear wheel breaking after 5 uses. Value for money opinions are divided, with some considering it a good purchase while others say it’s not worth the cost.

    Best push mower
This is well designed push mowers, after a dozen or so uses it has proven well so far. The ball bearing hubs make pushing a breeze and the one lever Height adj. Is priceless. The power that comes out of the engine Creates a strong force from the side discharge. Lastly, the design of the handle being bolted to the top of the deck instead of on side of deck is a game changer on turning the mower, no more loose handle. Best push mower I’ve ever had. Hope to get many years of service.

    Powerful and Efficient Lawn Mower!
The YARDMAX 21″ 170cc mower is fantastic! Its high rear wheels make maneuvering easy, and the 2-in-1 feature works flawlessly. Powerful, reliable, and perfect for tough grass. Highly recommend for a pristine lawn with minimal effort!

Worst mower I’ve ever owned, and I’m in my sixties.
I’ve owned this mower for 1 year and 5 months and have had 5 problems that stopped my mowing dead in its tracks. Three times the handle snapped off (And after the 3rd time they admitted an engineering problem and sent me bolts that spread out the stress. Another time the entire rear-wheel assembly came off, which I fixed myself with a new bolt and hammering the casing back into shape after it got a bit mangled from breaking off. Just today one of the rear wheels broke off and the other one is very wobbly. (They consider this a non-warranty maintenance item at $25 each). Also, the engine starts very poorly when it is warm (In other words, after mowing a while and stopping to get a drink, it is difficult to start until it cools. I definitely do not recommend this mower.

    Works as expected
It’s pretty decent. Haven’t owned a push mower in a long time. Cuts well, plenty of power. Used 2x, the first time my grass was pretty high. It knocked it down fine on highest setting. Went back over it 3 days later and that time it did great, everything was even and looked freshly mowed (lowered to 1/2 way). Handles seem a bit flimsy, time will tell. For now, it’s 4 stars. Beefier handles would make it 5 stars.

31 years of mulching and this mower mulches better than any previous mower.
I have used this mower 3 times on about half an acre yard.Likes:1. has a single height adjustment lever which makes it very fast to adjust for thick grass.2. is reasonably light weight, about 60 pounds and is easy to push.3. price tag for it delivered into your garage is fantastic4. gas tank is large enough not to need a refill and oil is very easy to put in it comes with a funnel.Complaints:1. I do not know what lawn equipment jerk started labeling mowers with CCs instead of Horse Power. For a hundred years we all know and understand what HP means. I think 170 CCs is approximately 7 horse power which is one reason the mower mulches thick grass so well.2. the flap on the back of the mower is too wide and will catch preventing the easy reversal when mowing. I took a knife and cut one inch of it off and the mower is much easier to use when backing up and pivoting. Conclusion: first experiences with this lawnmower have been very good….one year from now I will update this review. I would buy this again.

    Acceptable mower
Appears to be well made and comes with complete instructions on care and maintenance, all to the good. The weight is good, especially as I have areas where it’s difficult to mow and I have to manhandle the mower a bit. The motor seems to perform well, with the exception that it is inordinately hard to restart if you have to stop it for even a minute or so. It should just restart immediately, but I had to reprime and pull and pull the starter cord multiple times. That shouldn’t have to happen with the motor stopped for only a minute or two. It is advertised as a side discharge or mulching mower, which I liked, but the discharge chute, when fitted, is easily knocked off when you even lightly brush against something, and if that happens you have to stop the mower and then have the restart problem. The blade isn’t particularly sharp and doesn’t give the sense that you are cutting well, but on completion it looks fine, so I’m OK with it I guess. It’s not a perfect mower and could be better but I’m reasonably satisfied and will continue to mow with it.

    Good mower
Been raining so haven’t had a chance to run it but it looks like a good mower and it comes nearly completely assembled unlike the last mower I bought from Walmart that took an hour to plug together. All I had to assemble on this was the grab bar and add oil (which doesn’t come with the mower but not a big deal). Also this is largest cc mower for the price that I’ve found.
