⚠⚠⚠ WARNING ❗❗❗ This is NOT an automatic dead-bolt lock ! After pressing a valid code, you have ONLY 3-sec (indicated by a 3-sec long beep) to TURN the keypad knob to unlock! If you don’t turn the keypad knob within this 3-sec, the lock will be back to the “lock position.” This is a security feature “auto-lock” designed to prevent “forgetting to lock.” This is a spring latch lock. The latch does NOT have motor and does NOT move itself. Therefore, it lasts longer than dead-bolt. Again, you will need to TURN the keypad knob to unlock.

Really impressed.
I bought this lock for my home office door. I sometimes travel and need to be able to lock it while my house is being taken care of by others. It went in pretty easily. I like being able to put in eight combinations/passcodes. I also like being able to leave it unlocked. To someone who doesn’t know the lock it still appears to be locked but a user knows that all one has to do is touch one key to open in this mode. So, I leave it this way most of the time and if someone breaks into my home, it will appear to be locked. Super cool. This lock is very sturdy and operates smoothly. NICE. I was very surprised. Great value for the money.

Great doorknob to keep loved ones with dementia safe
Wow. We really love this door knob. The packaging was nice. The door knob is sturdy and seems to be of good quality. The price on Amazon was good as well.We had a dutch door made for my mom’s safety. She has dementia and roams alot. She fell down the stairs so we had to move her to the main level of the house and block her usage to all of the stairs in the house. That door way is in the kitchen leading to the garage, basement, kids hangout room and loft bedroom. We didn’t want to close the kitchen off with a full door… And we wanted her to be able to still be able to call out for someone if needed in one of the other rooms.This area is high traffic so we needed a knob with a passcode entry and key override. We researched tons of locks. This one worked best for what we needed it for, which was safety for my mom on an internal door. It keeps her from traveling to unsafe areas and its quick for us to travel through. For fire safety etc we didn’t want a double key deadbolt etc.Since the door itself door was made foe this reason… Our door guy had to make everything on the door and frame work for the knob. Our door guy stated that the knob was easy to install and he was really impressed by the quality of it.There are compliants in reviews about the loud beeping. For us the beeping is fine. It allows us to hear when someone is at that door way about to come through.You only have 3 seconds to turn the knob after your code entry is successful. When the door closes it automatically locks… Which is what we needed.I highly recommend this doorknob. But its all based on what your needing it for. We would buy again.

Update:Stopped working after 3 months
Was easy to install and worked great for 3 months. Now it is not unlocking after the code is entered. It beeps correctly to indicate the code worked, but knob is not engaging to unlock.Update: Thought it stopped working as the lights were still on. Then read the manual and replace the batteries that had come with the lock. It is working now. Batteries that came with the lock worked for only about 3 months.

December 2019: used for 6 months now and we absolutely love this door knob. It’s easy to install and use and we have found it to be very secure. I haven’t had any issues and have been using it for at least 6 months so far. I am actually using this on an exterior side door and I love that my daughter can get inside safely at night and quickly without fumbling for keys. The keypad lights up, you can program multiple access codes so everyone has their own and it’s super easy to setup and install. I highly recommend it for both internal and external use (if itâs a covered area protected from rain/snow etc.) It’s been great for us!! Iâll be sure to update along the way.***Update Edit***We have now been using this for quite a while now. The original purchase was July 2019,, installed upon receiving, and we still love it and have never had any issues at all with it and itâs now November 2023! We now use it on the small entry door that goes from our garage into the house. I absolutely love having the security of knowing even if someone gets in my garage, they wonât be getting inside my home. I highly recommend to anyone looking for something like this.To anyone having code issues: definitely read the instructions and if still having issues Iâd refer you to go to the sellers website. This company makes a very wellMade product and is hey stand behind it as well.. so I guess we have been using it 4.5 years now and can tell you a couple things concerning codes: the code you received is your master code and should be changed to your own secure master code upon receipt. You should keep your master code safe and put away so as not to forget it and you shouldnât use it as your daily use code. You should make daily use codes using the instructions provided. Itâs very easy once youâve done it a couple times. Also, Iâve seen some people say they put their backup key in safes or other safe places. You should carry this key on your key ring. Should your batteries ever fail, youâre gonna need it accessible and not locked away somewhere.

Bought the first one 18 months ago. Worked well enough before the mechanical catch to turn the lock started failing to engage. Bought a second one and it lasted 2 days before the keypad stopped working and the seller didn’t respond to emails.

The passcode is constantly being accidently changed. This means if yo are outside and accidently change it you are locked out of your house. Would not recommend this product. I would give it a negative star if I could
