Great tool!
It arrived today and I immediately took it to the garden to use it. The case is well made. The knife has a nice weight – not too heavy but not flimsy either. The hook and serrated edges cut well. The v-tip is prefect for lifting weeds by the roots. Overall a well made tool that will get tons of use in my garden.

Good quality, really reasonable price
Why did I wait so long to get one? This has turned out to be one useful garden tool.Whether digging to plant, or loosing weeds, this has simplified those tasks for me.I’ve used the notch next to the handle to cut twine a number of times, and also cut a few lesser sized roots. Plus I really didn’t think I’d have a use for the serrated edge, but a couple of times I ran into 1/2″ size root and cut through them. (Although, not exactly a saw) but still cut through.The quality is there, in this particular Hori Hori. It has a full tang, which is the only way to go. Better leverage, and no worry about snapping the handle off.The walnut handle could use a heavier finish, but a little oil helped (at least in my mind) the durability. While not perfectly aligned, it still fits comfortably in my hand.This is also a heavy stainless steel knife. It’s thick, heavyweight, real metal, not some 1/16th stamped out blade. And, a really good price. Literally just slightly over a dollar more in cost over the DIY box store’s price, and way better quality.The only complaint I have, is the retention strap. Not quite long enough, and makes it very hard for me to try to snap it closed. Other than that, I really like this tool, and use it regularly.

heavy duty & much less than another hori hori knife (not heavy duty)
it has a nice heft to it. seems very sharp. wider than the other hori hori knife. I really like the shapely contoured handle; it seems like I could use this without it wearing out my hand after a while. The blade is 1/8″ thick; I think I read 1 review saying the blade snapped in half; I can’t imagine this doing that; they must have been doing some pounding on it with a hammer or something. Blade is slightly curved. I had been using a steak knife I bought at a yard sale & this is much better suited to gardening. Well worth the price; it is about $40 cheaper than the 1 at my local garden center & I like this better! Also it is more impressive in person. I like the sheath in that the knife is easy to get in & out of. If you’re like me, an avid gardener, you’ll love it.

Take My Money
In my suburban dad era so naturally I started gardening. This knife cuts through weeds, grass, even thick roots like butter. I really dig the weeding tool, great leverage and gets down deep into the root to remove the whole weed. Seems to be well built and it’s sharp enough to make a fella bleed, don’t ask but I’m OKI really dig this knife and don’t go out into the garden without. Holster is kind of mid tho

Four stars because the first hori hori knife I received was obviously a previously used and returned item. I do not appreciate receiving a used item when I order and pay for a new item. The replacement I received was new and was shipped promptly.This Perwin hori hori knife is a little wider and heavier than a typical hori hori knife. The knife is well-made and makes gardening tasks easier. I appreciate the full tang, the comfortable handle, and the protective sheath.
