Book of the year!
You know you hold a treasure in your hands when the introduction brings you to tears. Ashlee Gadd and the Coffee & Crumbs writers have captured the complicated, multi-faceted essence of Motherhood in this beautifully bound and photographed book. Motherhood is often an isolating experience, one where survival and uncertainty abound. Itâs all too easy to forget that every other mother is also experiencing what you are. In that sense, âThe Magic of Motherhoodâ and Coffee & Crumbs have created a village of sorts, a safe place for mothers to be inspired and encouraged and to offer support to each other. The prose in this book is breathtaking. Each sentence was crafted with care, and the emotion, imagery and metaphor flow off the page and into the heart of the reader. I am forever thankful for the vulnerability of the writers, for their willingness to use their gift to touch other hearts and lives.I laughed and cried the whole way through and will be revisiting each and every essay many times with highlighter and journal in hand. The writers remind us that through it all, every failure and triumph, every fear and joy, it is God who has given us this calling and is carrying us through each challenge. Motherhood is hard behind description, but this book reminds us to lift our eyes to the One who pours out grace upon grace so then we can then model His love and grace to those He has entrusted us with.

A collection of stories equally beautiful, uplifting, heartbreaking, encouraging and funny
I found the Coffee and Crumbs blog one night, around 3 a.m., almost 23 months ago. I was wide awake but exhausted â physically, mentally, emotionally â from the amazing highs of life with a newborn. I was overjoyed but also terrified that something would go wrong. In those small hours of the night, when no person should be awake, I discovered a whole new cosmos of the world wide web â parenting advice. How to sleep train by 6 weeks. Why I should co-sleep. Babies need a schedule and discipline. Free range parenting is best. Each new thing I read contradicted another, equally compelling article. I was obsessing over answers to questions I didnât even know I had.And then I stumbled upon a story. It didnât tell me how to get my baby to sleep. Or what type of baby food I should make in six months (but not a second before then!) But it helped me more than any advice article could. The Magic of Motherhood is a collection of stories equally beautiful, uplifting, heartbreaking, encouraging and funny. More than that, many of these stories are my story. Or probably will be one day. Or my best friend’s story. Or the neighbor down the street. Motherhood truly is magical in its way to connect us.Plus, this hardcover with ribbon placeholder is absolutely dreamy (and small enough to toss in a diaper bag or purse).

I was not disappointed. One issue I’ve often had with bloggers that …
I’m a long-time reader of the Coffee + Crumbs blog, so I was thrilled to see they were coming out with a book. I was not disappointed. One issue I’ve often had with bloggers that write books is that there is too much repeat material in the book–it feels as though I’ve read everything already. This was not the case with The Magic of Motherhood. There were a few essays that had previously been published on the blog, but the majority were new, and the ones that were repeated in the book were essays that I love and was grateful to have in print.I’ve found in my own experience with reading about motherhood that writers are frequently overly sentimental or overly harsh. One of my favorite things about The Magic of Motherhood is that it doesn’t shy away from the difficulties that surround motherhood, but it also presents the beauty and joy that come with it. The writers have been incredibly vulnerable in these essays, sharing things that I think most mothers think and feel but don’t always share with the world. Reading this book, I felt as if I was not alone and that I was encouraged by a team of women walking the same path. The writing is thoughtful and well crafted–no sloppiness here. The book itself is lovely from an aesthetic standpoint, with beautiful photographs and a ribbon bookmark. I will be purchasing this for many baby showers and Mother’s Days in the future!

AMAZING BOOK!!!
Friday afternoon I received this bookðð» that I had ordered from Amazon. I couldn’t wait to start it! (I was excited about a book?!whaaatð). Not much of a book person so this was a little different for me. I was so absorbed in this book that it was only put down to give my daughter a bath, run to the store & for bedtime routine. I wish I would have known about it sooner, but now was almost perfect timing for me to read it. I needed everything I got from it, especially the reassurance that I am a great mother (to be truthful most of us aren’t told enough) & even if we should know within ourself, we are all human & want to hear it from others as well. I know I’m not alone. I relate to so many other mamas out there (present & future). I felt so much connection almost as if I was reading my own life during parts of it. This book is AMAZING (I don’t tend to choose that overly used/cheesy word, so when I do, I mean it). Highly recommend this book to every mama & mama to be! Thank me laterðð & if you haven’t been told lately, you all are great mamas (even when you don’t have it all figured out)â¤ï¸ #TheMagicOfMotherhood ð«

No page marker
I love his book! I love it so much I ordered this one for a gift for a friend who is expecting. One thing that I liked about the book itself (not the content but the book) was the satin ribbon page marker to hold my place. However, this one did not come with the satin ribbon page marker. I should have just gotten it from Target, which is where I got mine originally.

I started reading the Coffee + Crumbs at the very beginning and I was thrilled when I heard the ladies behind the blog were working on a book! âThe Magic of Motherhoodâ contains some of the best essays from the blog as well as new stories, each of which offers wisdom, encouragement, comfort, and understanding. The writers are genuine, authentic, vulnerable, and likeable â I felt like I was sitting around the coffee table with a group of friends, sharing stories, as I read this book! Read with a box of Kleenex and a journal handy! I bought a copy for myself, then another six for my sisters and best friends!
