Most desirable upgrade for the 7th Gen Accord
10 inch Android 12 radio definitely gives a whole new look to my 2005 Accord. I used 4GB+64GB unit and its awesome, responsive & fast, touch screen is flawless and display is crisp. I would like to share my experience and also provide information as much as possible to help others!!Installation: I will recommend to go through a few you tube videos on how to remove your stock radio and install Android radio on 7th generation accord. Once old unit is removed, its easy to install this one. There are lots of cables comes with this unit, however most of the cables have different number of pins on connector side so you can easily figure out where to connect them, I have attached a few snaps of my connections as well. Don’t worry about the white connector that you will unplug from stock radio, that one is for XM radio and not required for this android radio. You will need to connect blue & green connectors and antenna cable to android radio.Backup Camera: I am very much satisfied with the backup camera video quality for both day and night time. Again to install backup camera there are many you tube videos available, I connected my backup camera’s power to reverse light 12V and camera’s ground to reverse light ground wire. Also I connected the long RCA cable’s red/orange wire to reverse light’s 12V and the other end of the long RCA cable goes into the single yellow RCA connector in android radio and the red/orange wire of long RCA cable should be connected to the wire labeled as “Back” on android radio.I am happy with the backup camera video feed. As soon as I change to reverse gear, I do see reverse camera feed on radio display. I have installed LED reverse lights which helps getting day like video during night and provided camera is also pretty good that provide HD video during night.Front View Camera: There is possibility of connecting a front camera and there is an app to see front camera in radio. I purchased another camera (which is not as good as camera came with this radio) and installed as front camera, setup was easy, connected red wire of camera and trigger signal to “ACC” fuse (located near driver side inside the car, I made a hole in the firewall area and pushed the cables inside to connect to internal fuse box because fuse under hood were constant ON), connected black wire to battery ground and on radio side connected the yellow cable to “Aux In”, other end of trigger wire was not connected anywhere. This way front camera is powered whenever car key is turned on, we can tap on “Front Video” app to see front camera feed, in the app we can turn ON/OFF the mirror view for front camera. I also assigned the “Mode” button on steering wheel to front camera so whenever I need to see front camera video, I just press the “Mode” button on steering, pressing “Mode” button again turn OFF the camera which is nice. Only drawback is even if we turn OFF the mirror view in “Front Video” app, if I see front camera through “Mode” button, it still shows mirror image. If you are viewing front camera and then changed to reverse gear, feed will change to backup camera and if gear is changed to other than reverse then feed will back to front camera which is good.This radio is not capable of showing 360° view even if you have multiple cameras connected to your car. But most other brand’s radio in this price range also may not show 360degree view, so nothing bad but just wanted to include that here in case for anyone it’s must have feature.Sound: DSP makes big difference in sound and it definitely sound better than the stock radio using same set of speakers. Equalizer gives you quite a few options to customize to play sound of your liking. I played music via both android auto and Bluetooth and it worked fine. The built in mic of android radio is pretty good and when on call, other people were able to hear me fine so I did not use external mic provided.Connectivity: Wireless android works fine for me, initially I had trouble getting mobile data connection for the android auto but I removed the car from android auto in both android radio and in my phone’s setting and then after connecting again it worked fine.Bluetooth pairing works just fine, You could pair more than 1 device with this android system, by default it will try to connect to the device which was originally paired 1st the first time or to the one it had last established connection. In Bluetooth app you can link or unlink phone from the paired phone list which show up when we press scan button inside Bluetooth app.Radio comes with GPS with North America maps, so probably it could be used for navigation if needed when Internet is not available.You could connect the radio to a Wi-Fi connection and utilize internet with in the android radio for various purpose, or it also comes with option to connect 4G SIM card to utilize SIM’s data plan and hotspot. I did not try that option.It comes with 2 USB connectors which could be used for Android Auto or media playback. I tested media playback and it worked fine.Built in radio app was okay, I felt the stock radio was catching a few FM stations better than the android radio but overall it worked fine.You can assign the steering wheel button to access various functionalities of android radio, I only assigned lift side of the steering wheel buttons like volume up/down to control volume, channel +/- for next/previous and Mode for front Camera. I did not do anything with Cruise related buttons.AC: AC worked for me, you need to select °F unit and correct CAN protocol in Settings -> Factory Settings -> enter code -> Original Car settings. All the buttons functions as expected but I feel AC worked better with stock radio. When car’s DRL or headlights are ON, AC buttons are illuminated which helps in night time. Whenever you press any AC related button, radio shows updated configuration on display which is good to see that changes we are doing are actually happening.Display: In the default UI, a car icon shows up on right which shows digital car speed as well when driving. Also if headlights are ON, the car icon display shows car lights are ON which I felt nice to see.When car door/trunk is opened, android radio also shows the open door UI which looks better than the one shown on car’s dashboard display.Default setting for sleep mode for Android radio is ON that means upon turning off the car, android radio does not shuts off but goes into sleep mode which helps turning on the display with in 3-4 sec of turning on the car which is good.Customer support is good, they usually respond back within a day or 2, I contacted them multiple times with different questions and they always responded patiently and try to solve problem we encountered. This unit comes with 1 year warranty which is nice in case something goes wrong!Though I like a lot of things in this radio, I wish it could have done better for below points:1. After connecting android radio, car stopped displaying outside temperature on the dashboard. Android unit does not display outside temperature anywhere on its own display as well so its pain to not know the outside temperature to get AC/heat working as we desire. We need to play with temperature knob to get it working correctly.2. USB connectors practically cannot be used for charging devices as it only support 0.5A current and would not charge the phone.3. It does not have screen mirroring, not that its needed pretty often but sometimes it could be useful.4. When we change the AC temperature knob, temperature is only updated on display when it is changed by 2°F e.g. if it’s set to 71°F (display updates), 72°F (no display update), 73°F (display updates).5. If we turn off the sleep mode, it takes around 10-15seconds for Android radio to boot up and show display. I kept the sleep mode On as that way if I do reverse as soon as car is turned ON, I can still see the reverse camera feed. Not sure if it will slowly drain the battery but as of now it’s more than a month and battery is doing good.Though this unit has few minor limitations, I believe you will run into many of those with other brand’s android radio as well. The working features outweighs the limitations for me specially considering the price we pay and features we get. I have still not explored quite a few things yet however I have been using this radio for 2 months and I would recommend considering this radio.

Touchscreen stopped working
Stereo was easy to install but came without instructions. Radio and Bluetooth worked good and the touchscreen as well till a few days ago I can’t do anything on it only connect to the Bluetooth. It doesn’t detect any touch so I can’t use the radio, volume or any other apps on the stereo. I reset it multiple times as it has a pin hole reset button right above the power touch button but no luck, ugh 😩. And to top things off I can’t return it anymore cause it’s past the return date. What great timing for it to stop working 😭😭

The stereo/radio is a good product but not the best. Right now i’m having problems with the AC controls and the settings. The problem with my AC is that there’s no arrow on the knob so i don’t for sure know if i’m getting cold or hot air until i actually feel cold or hot air. you understand what i’m saying? The problem with the setting is I can’t fix the time or the date for some reason or i just can’t figure it out. Actually setting up the radio/stereo was not too difficult but i had a friend that knows more about this type of stuff help me. The package came with a lot of things that i didn’t know what were… and also there was no instructions on how to do this… i also had to chop off one of my clips cause the radio wouldn’t properly fit so now there’s a gap between my vents and my radio…
