Great Small PC at an excellent price
This computer deserves 5 stars for the size and the value it presents. Do not buy this if you need gaming performance or to do high end graphics. This is not a Mac Mini 4, but it has its place and if you want a very fast budget computer this is it.Strengths of this computer:It is small, you can put anywhere in your house and it will stay out of the way. It has Windows Pro included and is activated with Microsoft. It has decent speeds in terms of SSD and Ram speed. You can change the Ram settings and performance settings in the Bios. I put it on the performance setting. For some reason this PC had the Ram set at 4400 and you can change it in Bios to 4800. This computer runs web browsers, video and audio files with ease.The sound is very good with speakers and headphones. Also Bluetooth devices connect quickly and smoothly with this machine.Minor issues to know about:Also with these Mini PCs it is recommended to do a fresh install of Windows. When this computer boots up some of the menus are in Chinese and a fresh install of Windows where you format the drive and reinstall works perfectly and fixes the language issues.Make a USB drive using the Microsoft Media creation tools after you make sure Windows is activated and then use the USB drive to format the SSD and install a brand new image of Windows. You will have a great experience with this machine after doing that.The only drivers that I had to reinstall after installing Windows was the drivers for the two Intel Lan ports. Make sure you download those drivers after you clean install Windows. Wifi will work after the install, but the lan ports will not work unless you reinstall the drivers. All drivers for this machine are available on the Aoostar website and they will allow this computer to run at peak performance.Overall this Mini is a great deal and works well for the money. If you need a gaming PC or want more power go with a Ryzen 5 or 7 model, but for overall computer tasks this computer will get the job done.

Small, Quiet and Powerful Mini PC
If youâre like me and love exploring options for all things technology and home automation, finding a compact, robust, and power-efficient mini-pc without breaking the bank was a long process. After browsing several pages and brands, I came across the Aoostar N1 Pro mini pc. It didnât have a lot of reviews, but the price was right. And based off my initial experiences, it fits the bill perfect.Hereâs why itâs a great fit for home automation and why I picked it â The N150 processor sips energy, but has enough power to get run Home Assistant with ease. Iâm currently using a VM to keep access to Windows to explore Plex and for testing, but you can certainly run it natively. It manages to run HA with connections to a variety of smart devices from Amazon along with some Zigbee and Z Wave devices without missing a beat. I setup and got my HA OS system up and running in less than an hour. Honestly, way quicker than I expected and thatâs why Iâm writing the review the same day I got the machine!Again, setup was super quick. Donât be worried if you notice some foreign characters upon setup. Youâll simply change the language during the Windows initialization and be up and running in minutes. Included in the box is the power supply, HDMI cable, and a mounting bracket and screws in case you decide to add it to a network rack or somewhere else in your tech cabinet. I added some pictures of the machine to help you see how it looks in real life.Considering the price point, I donât have any major downsides. It would be nice to upgrade the memory, but more than 12GB seems excessive for running HA or other automation tools. Final thoughts â If youâre looking for a compact, affordable, and capable mini-PC, this one is worth considering. Itâs ultra quiet but still manages to power through all the tasks I expect of it.Does it run 4k at 120hz? No. But I donât expect a sub-$200 computer to do so. Does it replace my MacBook Pro for photo editing? No, but at less than 10% of the cost, I donât expect it to.If anything changes, Iâll update the review with additional info. But for the first day, Iâm very pleasantly impressed.

great as network appliance, but might not work well for windows 11
This is a good little system. I have had one running for 3 months without issue running some security software on my network. The memory is not upgradeable but it looks like the SSD and the wifi could be as they are separate modules. The N150 processor appears to be a bit underpowered for windows 11 that came on the SSD. The system at idle with windows 11 seems to sit at about 30% usage and does not appear to “calm down” over time to a lower cpu usage. ( even with a lot of optimization). With BSD based firewall it lists as only 1% cpu usage. The dual network ports are nice. I am not using the wifi and not sure how well it works. I appreciate that it came with window 11 even though i am using it for a different use. If you are looking for something to run windows 11, you might be happier with something that comes with a more powerful CPU. The system is a small size, lite weight and performs well as a network appliance booting from a usb thumb drive.
