Customers say
Customers find the insulation tester works well, particularly for industrial motors, and appreciate it as a diagnostic tool that’s simple to use and provides accurate readings without guessing. The device saves time and is considered good value for money. While customers describe it as rugged, some report it breaking during first use, and several mention the leads being too short.

Reliable, Accurate, and Built for the Job
As a technician, having a dependable megohmmeter is a must â and this one delivers. Right out of the box, the build feels solid, with a rugged, rubberized housing that gives confidence it can handle the field. Iâve used it for testing motors, compressors, and insulation on wiring, and the readings are consistent and accurate every time. The display is bright and easy to read, even outdoors. I also appreciate the auto-discharge feature after testing â a safety must. The leads are quality too, with strong alligator clips that hold securely during testing.

Must have tool if working on HVAC
I do maintenance for living and this helps identify those units that ohms out well but just don’t seem to be working to full capacity.

Weâre checking motors
I thought that I would use this a lot. I donât use it a lot. I donât use. It is bad if itâs your motor could put power to it donât move is definitely bad or maybe you have a bad capacitor. If you have a meter and you know how to use it same thing it is a nice tool though

Cheap, reliable and simple. Love it.
I’ve been using these at work and love them. Light weight, simple to use and reliable. This will not get down to the finer details of measuring resistance readings but will tell you where the weak spots are in a circuit. The lower cutoff point on this meter’s scale is 20 Megaohms, well above levels I have seen circuits operating without tripping overloads or breakers. All of the problem circuits I’ve diagnosed with my expensive Fluke megger have shown less than 1 Megaohm from conductor to ground. I still love this meter, though, because it is so light and compact. I also like that I can attach the alligator clips and leave one hand free to wiggle wires in the conduit on intermittent problems while I press the test button with the other. I have thus far not misdiagnosed a motor with this meter but I usually go get my Fluke 1507 if I am in doubt. You will love this megger.

For the price, unbeatable
Needed to check for insulation degradation between my house and a distant outdoor subpanel. Easy to use, simple to interpret. Took off one star because… C batteries, really? I have a stockpile of batteries, but exactly two Cs in the entire house, had to raid the kid’s camping lantern.

Reliability
Works great!

Great help for the diagnostician
A small price to pay for the info this can provide in problematic situations. Intermittent or rare failures can be the most vexing to troubleshoot. This helps with that analysis, it will find faults that even a good multimeter and physical inspection will miss.

Great megger for the price
Works as well as the commercial units within a lower range good for home AC units.
