Quality of product, easy to use and performance
My son who is a fire captain in Ca. He has helped me ever since his Dad passed away 5 years now. I bought this after getting rid of the old one. As he unpacked it he was impressed with the the type of material it was made with and how strong it was, I also own the Ego lawn Mower and blower plus weed eater. This product is so good and Im not joking here.If I could do it all over again I would buy the ride on Lawn mower. As it stands even I was able to use the mower self propelled but I would need the ride on now. I never have to worry about the noise the mower makes, bc I can’t hear it inside. Lets just say I had people asking or at least happy to mow my lawn and the power from the blower can last a long time. Just can’t say enough about this brand. I dont go on and on about a product unless its great. And its worth every penny and continues years later with items I purchased back then. Would do it over and over again. Waiting for new products bc im going to see if I can use it for sure. The price is great bc I have not needed one repair yet. So its worth the amount. The cut was easy with the pole saw, the mower was very easy to use. I have my 9 year old grandson mowing. It folds nicely without using much room at all. The batteries last longer than any man using it. Charger is fast to charge.

Better Than Expected.
Let me preface this with I have had electric chainsaws before, just not an EGO. I have slowly been replacing all my yard tools with Cordless EGOs, mainly because I can have the job done using the EGOs, before I even get out the extension cords for my older other brands. This is also my first extension chainsaw. I wanted it to keep branches off internet line, they go by or through trees. I also wanted this for quick 1 or 2 limb jobs, not do an entire tree service.Noise is 90% quieter than my electric chainsaw from another brand. Think like the sound of a drill. Once you stop pulling the trigger, it stops. My electric chain saw is much louder and still makes a lot of noise after the chain stops. It may feel a tad heavy, your not going to be whipping this around, but the carbon fiber shaft doesn’t make you feel off balance.Easy to use. Very quick. You cut through branches faster than I expected (compared to my other electric chainsaw). I would say 2 seconds and I was through 1.5 inch branches. I felt I had just fully squeezed the trigger by the time I went through. So it has some cutting power.Battery is still compatible with my other EGOs. A 2.5 hr battery I charge up, I can normally trim, blow off the sidewalks several different days before recharging. I had one that charged up months ago, I use it every week when I mow. Still used it on this extension chainsaw without charging so it still has enough power. So now I just have an extra battery.I would also suggest buying the tools with the batteries. Tools without batteries are usually $30 cheaper, but buying a separate battery on its own, a 2.5 hr battery can run $140-200

Great tree and shrub pruner
The EGO system is a bit expensive, but they are quality tools and work very well and this pole chain saw is no exception. The chain saw end is easy to take apart to clear and by tightening the chain guard, it ensures the proper tension of the chain. It has plenty of power to cut every big branches (4-5 inches in diameter). I find the extension part of this product critical. Sometimes you need it and sometimes you want a shorter tool. Some reviews of other brands talk about excessive flex in the shaft. I never felt that there was excess flex in the EGO design. I use my 5Ah battery as that is what I have. I suggest using the 2.5Ah. Well done EGO.

LOVE EGO
Saw works great, a little heavy after a while, good work out. Check chain oil often, and chain tension. Battery lasts forever in this tool, more the my other tools.

Perfect for home use!
Despite all the negative reviews, I have used this over the past month on my property and found that it works great as long as you take care of it. Fantastic cutting speed and not to heavy when trying to reach a branch. The battery life depends on what size your using but overall it lasts long enough to do the work you need to do, I have 4 total batteries so not to worried about running out of power. The strap that is included definitely makes it easier to use. Does not put to much strain on the back.

Great saw, works well.
Saw works great! Cuts super fast. It’s really nice to have the easily adjustable length because I change it a lot based on the reach to each branch.Note that the green light is not to illuminate a line on the branch where it will be cut (not like miter saws do). It is just to kind of make it easier see generally where your blade is as a point of reference. I think this is spelled out in the instructions (or maybe stated on the box) but somehow I missed that point. I’m super happy with the saw.As a side note, I have several EGO tools and one went bad (jut barely within the warranty period).. I was super pleased and shocked at how well EGO handed the warranty aspects.
Amazon Customer –
First off, I have all the Ego Products so I know about the product. When this arrived I was quietly surprised how long it can extend too,the carbon fiber (life time warranty) poles are super but it would be difficult for a man or lady who is not some sort of fit to hold for any length of time but in general it was great and help to get into brush and trim the base of trees that are hard to reach with the normal chainsaw or hedge trimmer .Im not 100 percent, yet but I feel it uses a lot of chain oil and if you was doing quiet a bit of trimming serious stuff then it would be best to have a second chain available has it’s only 10 inch and all the other chains would not be suffice.

The saw is easy to use, not heavy, and with the extension can reach as far as I want to go. The cutting head is effective, and makes trimming branches an easy job. Battery power is sufficient, and much easier to use and safer than an extension cord.

I wasn’t initially planning on buying this but I was having a hard time finding a company to come by and trim a few trees on my property, and those that did give me an estimate were very high priced, so I bit the bullet and purchased this product, I have an Ego mower, trimmer and blower plus a couple of batteries so I just needed the tool and not the battery and charger. Over the past few weeks I’ve been trimming my own trees with this, and it has worked amazing, the chain tensioner does loosen slightly over time but I just re-tension it after a doing a dozen or so cuts, no problem with the bar oil reservoir lid popping off either (as in some reviews) I would totally recommend this to anyone. I have saved at least $2000 DIYing my own tree trimming.

Absolutely works great, Before I purchased pole saw I paid $600 to have some trees limbed in on my property ego pole saw great investment has paid for itself on first use.
I See Dead People –
THIS AD HAS A MAJOR ERROR! It does not reach to 16 feet unless you purchase the ADDITIONAL EXTENSION for $179 + tax. I have contacted Amazon about it, reported the listing and others have mentioned it in their reviews. Amazon has done nothing to fix it. As for the saw itself, it works well but isn’t long enough to reach what I bought it for. Now I have to fork out another $200.
