Great for people and pets!
I bought this with the intension of giving it to my cat, but I liked it so much that I am keeping it for myself and buying a second for my cat. My cat is turning 15 next month and I wanted to put this under her pet bed to provide warmth all day and night long. I have the K&H electric heating pet bed, but sometimes it gets very hot. I wanted something that I did not have to worry about becoming too hot or having to constantly use electricity.As for the person who complained that their heat pad was made in 2004, I do not think that the number was actually indicating the year of manufacture. Mine says “2126” and that is over 100 years from now. I suspect that it is just the batch number.Why I love it: I have poor circulation in my hands and feet and I discovered this is the best heating pad and foot warmer that I have ever had. Prior to this, I was using various products filled with rice for my feet at night, but they lost heat within a few hours. With this under a few blanket, it will stay warm for 10 plus hours. I never thought that I would be spending $40 on a heating pad, let alone buying a second but here I am and I have no regrets.I chose this brand over some of the others because it seemed to have a very sturdy construction with a nontoxic filling. I considered the Snuggle Safe Pet Bed Microwave Heating Pad (currently $28.99), but I decided against it when I read the reviews about some people/pets getting burned by it in the event that it sprung a leak. Even if this K&H pad started to leak (which is hasn’t so far despite the fact that I accidentally stepped on it), it seems that the cover would offer some protection by absorbing the leakage and therefore preventing the hot wax from pouring straight out. It also seems much less likely that this design would rip open. The seams look very sturdy and it is made of neoprene. The other brand appears to use some sort of plastic or rubber, which would not absorb any of the wax if a leak were to occur.

love this bed warmer for my 2 small Chihuahuas – So glad didn’t buy an electric bed warmer with the worry about them chewing on an electric cord ! just put this in my microwave on 4 minutes and it comes out toasty warm and I put it in their bed under 2 fleece covers and it stayed warm all night long ! their bed has a nice cover over it so no drafts are on their little butts as I turn my hear down to 65 at night – when you use this I feel 2 covers is the way to go because it is warm and with their body weight pressing on it , it jiust migt be a little to warm so 2 covers over it is great !

I am compelled to pass on something that I learned from reading reviews of Pet products. Pet owners expect exceptional quality in products for their pets that they don’t expect for themselves. This K&H Microwavable Pet warmer is the perfect example. To be honest my Cats were not that interested in it, but it is the BEST microwavable warmer for people that I have found. I challenge anyone to find anything close to this quality for the same price in a Microwavable Pet Warmer for people!!! I use this for myself every night. It has a carry handle, the construction is military grade, and the heat lasts 8 hours. I am a former weight lifter and have found that I have a lot of aches and pains from arthritis that has set in my back from years of abuse. I LOVE this bed warmer, because it only takes 5 min in the microwave and the heat lasts until the morning. I did not like using a heating pad, since it is plugged in and cannot regulate the heat when you are sleeping. This bed warmer cools down slowly, and does not dry out your joints. I discovered using pet products over ones sold for people when I saw K&H selling a 12vdc heating pad for pets that goes in your car. The review posted by one of the people said that he loved it for use in his car for his sore back. I have since purchased two of these, and he is 100% correct. The heat shuts off when the car does, and it is Sooooooo much better then the Hometics junk that does not work!! This is a god send for anyone with sore muscles. I am grateful to K&H for putting out quality products for pets that work even better for humans.

Great product until it wasn’t. VERY DISAPPOINTED
I bought this warmer for my outside semi feral cat. He has a house on my enclosed mudroom but I wanted him to stay warm during our recent subzero temperatures. The warmer worked great. It was soft, the heat lasted 10-12 hours, and my cat was warm and comfortable.When I was going to rewarm it for another subzero night, I noticed it was leaking around the edges. I purchased this item December 22, 2024 and it was leaking by January 21, 2025, after less than one month of use. It had been working so well, that I had ordered another one for my elderly cat earlier before the first one failed. Because it kept my outside cat warm during these past frigid nights and days, I returned it for replacement, so I’ll see how they stand up to use this time. However, if I get the same poor results, they are both going back for a refund.

It’s warm and safe!
I bought this product about 8 years ago to use with my older cats when they needed a safe heat source. I also had another name brand of microwavable disc purchased about 15 years earlier for the same purpose. I wanted to try a neoprene cover/gel to compare to the disc. I like them both for different reasons. This K&H gel is initially softer. I had to replace the initial K&H gel pack I bought when I took it into our clinic to have additional portable heat sources when we were doing an emergency C-section, expecting 8-10 pups. Then my gel pack disappeared :)Versus the initial K&H pack I had, I think this replacement product doesn’t stay warm as long and it seems the gel is harder when cooled. It also doesn’t stay warm for as long as the disc product, but is softer. Not disappointed and still use, but I reach for the disc more often than the gel pack.

Ich habe diese Wärmepads für meine Igel Pfleglinge bereits zum zweiten Mal gekauft. Der Preis ist ordentlich aber sie sind wirklich prima. Gute GröÃe und auch abwaschbar was sehr sinnvoll ist. Trotz des Preises definitiv empfehlenswert.

I bought them to bring newborn puppies home after a C-section and to resuscitate after delivery they worked very well But they do not hold heat for 12 hrs not even close barely warm after 4 hrs.
