Itâs technically well engineered and balances convenience with security nicely.

Lockly PIN Genie Pro Zeno Series Smart Lock, Keyless Entry Door Lock with Apple Home Key, Built-in Wi-Fi Keypad Deadbolt Locks for Front Door, App Remote Control, IP65 Weatherproof, Easy InstallationI wanted a lock that didn’t rely on biometric (eye, vein, fingerprint etc) info to open and that worked with Apple HomeKit so people could unlock it with their iPhone or Apple watch. I wanted this because I can manage PINs and access in the Homekit app and everyone in our family has Apple devices.When the lock arrived, I was impressed by how solid and heavy it felt. The lock itself is beautifully made and was easy to install. I went with the black finish, which I think looks perfect for the style Iâm going for. Everything about the lock has been fantastic. The app is smooth and reliable, and it integrates perfectly with HomeKit. The lock prioritizes Bluetooth over WiFi to save battery life, but you can change that in the settings if you want. The rechargeable USB batteries are a nice touch, and Lockly even includes two of them along with manual keys. I didnât re-core mine, but the option is there if you want all your doors keyed the same.I also love the smart features. You can schedule the lock to open or close at certain times, which is perfect if you have someone like a cleaner coming regularly. You can set it to automatically re-lock after a set time, which Iâve got at 30 seconds. The usage log shows whoâs coming and going and how they unlocked it. You can add multiple PINs per user for convenience, and you can control exactly what type of access each person has.The door makes a small chime when it re-locks, though itâs subtle and easy to ignore, and you can turn it off if you prefer. I also like being able to check remotely if the door is locked, and the HomeKit and Lockly apps work together seamlessly. During a recent power outage, the lock still worked over Bluetooth, which gave me peace of mind even without WiFi.The price may look a little steep at first, but after using it for a while now I can say that it is worth the price as it is so much better than many of the fingerprint locks I have tried in the past. Itâs a solid, feature-rich, and reliable smart lock that Iâd definitely purchase again.
