Excellent power. Very Versatile. Best In Class
I have tried several in this category like the Ugo at Lowe’s and even a Husqvarna Gas unit and Stihl Verso system which was nearly 4x more expensive, and this Greenworks combo unit is works fantastically – every bit as good and in many cases better due it is relatively light weight and lower cost compared to much more expensive model. Compared to the uGo at Lowe’s, this is 10x better, and three of my neighbors returned theirs and bought this one after borrowing mine when the UGo crapped out. The chain saw easily cuts through branches on my huge oak, magnolia, and palm trees, up to 6” in some cases. Have not had any chain derailment, like I did with others cutting the same trees. The hedge tool is very strong and shards up to about half inch branches. You have to be sure to oil the chain saw and I used WD40 on both chain saw and hedge. The battery will last enough to make you exhausted, as I had two blocks of tree branches stacked 6ft high that took me about 10 hours to shred using a towed 10” branch gas chipper. It charges pretty fast either way. Some feedback for the manufacturer- offer more tools to use the battery system with. Edger/trencher and tiller, vacuum/blower, and weedeater would be fantastic.Better instructions on care of the hedge trimmer blades. These rust after first use if you don’t clean them properly requiring wd40 and a wire brush. This is actually the case for ANY hedge trimmer as I found out with the competitive ones I tried. The only things I wish were better – offer a telescoping expansion so I can use the saw on higher branches, and possibly a handle attachment for the pole. One of the best purchases I’ve made on Amazon.

    Fantastic pole saw. Very powerful
Excellent pole saw. Good reach. Assembly is simple. Disassembling is not easy but I don’t really care that much about that. The saw is self oiling and operates smoothly. Chain cuts through branches with ease. It’s not the lightest saw I’ve used but the balance is good as long as you’re not overextended. The 2 amp battery that it comes with has enough power to make a number of cuts before needing recharging. I also purchased a 6 amp battery for even greater longevity. It’s not the easiest tool to store assembled but it can be Disassemble with some effort. All in all, it’s a good value for the money and much better made than some I have had in the past.

    Heavy
Pretty cool unit. Helped clear out many, many overhanging branches on a single charge. It is heavy, however. Unless you’re very strong the third extension makes it quite difficult to control. Overall, quite useful in its shorter configuration but ungainly when third extension is added.

The company greenworks scares me …BUT..
This item has been nothing but amazing for me, it dose the job…. Only down side is the attracts are very very difficult to get off a lot of pulling and shaking and twisting… but the more u use it the easier it is to detach.Very good quality of the blades and metal/steal parts. I’m impressed

Delightful! Just what I needed for lots of out of reach branches!
I had considered a pole saw, but all the gasoline ones are super heavy for a lady, andI had bad experiences with recharable batteries in the past not lasting, so hadnt evenconsidered a battery pole saw. Then a friend got one of a different brand, it cut excellenttho had a fiberglass pole that sagged and bounced, and it was still heavy for me. So Iresearched and this was the lightest one I could find with good reviews. And the pole is madeof aluminum which is the very lightest, more then fiberglass and doenst bend.I use it without the extension, which makes it too out of balence for me, but I can stilleasily reach ten feet which is plenty to take limbs off of trees as well as reaching intothorny brush at ground level to cut out saplings without getting all stickered. So this isjust what I have been needing for years. I do have a full size gas chain saw for big wood, but this is so nice for small. Congratulations to greenworks for making such a nice saw,and the battery lasts a long time on a charge too!, much to my amazement!!

    Awesome!
This is one of the best tools I bought in a very long time. Easy to clean. Easy to use.Chainsaw: The ability to cut out parts of a tree or further up than I can normally reach are amazing. I mean, I’m not using it to take down 40 foot trees, just limbing up trees and shrubs that I can’t get reach or that I need to trim from taller shrubs.Trimmer: Using it on wax myrtles has been amazing for trimming them back. Use the chendo viburnum as well.Note: this is a heavier item and can get out of balance and away from you if you let it. You just need to be careful with it and make sure it doesn’t get out of your control. My wife and I can both use it without any trouble.

    Very light and powerful tool.
The pole saw is very light to use and very powerful. It takes an hour or less to charge. I have a Greenworks trimmer and it is over 2 years old. I’ve cut over 3″ diameter so far and it does great.

    Leaks oil
I have to say it works on branches that are at least 4 to 6 inches. If you use it on a 2 inch branch the chain will lock up and you’ll have to put the chain back on.The battery lasts amazing. I literally used it last summer and forgot to charge the battery and it still had three bars on the battery and I cut about four six inch branches with it and it’s still at three bars. The only issue is that no matter how you store it the chain oil leaks. I tried to only put in the minimum amount but even then I have to set it on a large piece of cardboard because it just leaks like a sieve.I don’t know why as the top is tightened very well, but that is my big issue.I had it hanging up, but oil started leaking all over-no matter how I hung it.It is slightly top-heavy, but what do you expect for a long pole saw that is battery operated. I never use the extension piece because I can only cut at least a 4 inch branch and it does wobble when it is extended- if the chain got stuck when it was insanely high up, I would be out of luck. Other than that for a 40 W cordless pole saw – it works pretty darn good. Also, the leaking of the oil is a bummer but I just try to drain it out so I can hang it up.
