It’s huge, but man it works and I only need to change the filter once a year.

*UPDATE*It has now been about two months since I acquired the purifier and in that time there have been multiple firmware updates, albeit at the very start, no updates since but the firmware changes drastically improved its performance. The mobile app has also seen regular updates in these two months, although I still can’t get the outdoor air quality to work in my area.Dreame has also tried to contact me to go over any concerns and problems. So I am upping my rating from 3 to 4 stars. The product’s performance has improved and Dreame themselves have shown a commitment to trying to improve on the product and provide a great customer experience.*ORIGINAL REVIEW*I have several Dreame products and find that they offer fantastic performance and design for the price but this purifier left me a little disappointed.First off what I like:+ Fantastic design+ Powerful performance (when running manual settings)+ Easy to access filters, the filters are designed to last between a year or two+ Mobile app is easy to use+ Easy to move wheels+ It’s quiet (the highest fan setting is quieter than the highest setting on my other purifiers)+ Setup was easyNow my negatives and irritants…It is tall and rather heavy, I would guess around 30 lbs. With that said it can easily be rolled around, the wheels have a very smooth movement to them but do not having a locking feature. There are no handles or divots to put hands if it needs to be carried, so it needs to be lifted from the bottom. The display at first seemed incredibly small relative to the purifiers size but I’ve gotten used to the size. Speaking of the display you can cycle through the various things it filters which is good but I prefer how Dyson implements their graph, it’s easier to understand. The magnet that holds the remote to the purifier lacks magnetic strength, it will hold just fine as long as I don’t touch it but it has fallen off several times with a simple touch. It’s an IR remote that needs an almost direct view of the receiver otherwise it will not capture the signal. The app has a page to compare indoor quality with the outdoor air quality, I have never gotten it to show the outdoor air quality stats. It just shows an empty page, either it doesn’t work at all or it just has no data for my region. In terms of performance the automatic setting is where my biggest issue lies. It lacked sensitivity when compared with my Jafanda and Dyson (the Dyson Big & Tall purifier or whatever it’s called would be a better comparison since it’s a direct competitor but I only have the Dyson Hot & Cold purifier). I had it sitting in line with my other purifiers in front of my kitchen while cooking, both the Jafanda and Dyson detected the odour and smoke and had their fans blasting at max while the Dreame showed the air quality as being excellent with the lowest fan setting. I then moved the Dreame closer to the source, it then started to detect but only showed moderate pollution and set it’s fan to a slower setting (maybe a 2 or 3 fan speed out of 10).To Dreame’s credit I did get maybe 5 firmware updates since then, it increased the sensitivity of the auto mode. However I will still say that the other two still detect things the Dreame will not or cannot detect. My other purifiers will seemly go berserk and set themselves to high fan speeds to quickly clean the air, the Dreame tends to take a less aggressive approach, unless the air is really bad the fan speeds hardly ever hit high speeds making the Dreame a very quiet purifier; my guess is due to it’s size it doesn’t need to exert itself as much to clean the same volume of air.Overall it’s a good not great purifier considering the price. The letdown is the auto setting where it lacks sensitivity with it’s competition, you can manually change the settings to make it work for you but that defeats the idea of an auto mode which should be able to analyze and react all by itself. With that said Dreame has made OTA updates to improve performance.Lastly, there is another version of this same purifier but with a heat option, living in a cold climate I would probably pay the premium and go for that model.

Firstly I wanted to comment on the DREAME brand. I have several DREAME products from robotic vacuums to stick vacuums and they are all very high quality products. DREAME has very quickly shot its brand to the top of electronic devices because of its consistently high quality.I saw this air purifier by DREAME and I had have it. We have a lot of different hobby devices running in our home like 3D printers and CNC machines and I wanted to make sure that the air in our home stays clean throughout. This air purifier arrived very well packaged. IT IS HUGE! Not only is it huge, but it also has a very futuristic look to it and will definitely become a conversation piece.I decided to put the purifier on the main floor since that is where our living room and kitchen are. We spend a lot of time on this floor, and I also thought it would be nice to have a purifier on the floor where I cook. Sometimes cooking can lead to smoke, and a purifier would help clear this.Set up is super easy and well done. You scan the QR code on the back of the purifier and it directs you to the DREAME app that you load on your phone. You then add the purifier to your Wi-Fi network and the app. This went flawlessly and one of the smoothest setups I have done. You do need to set up a DREAME account which is painless. There is a fully functional remote that comes with the purifier. There are also 2 buttons on the front of the purifier that turn it on and cycle between the display screens. The remote attaches to the front of the purifier with magnets. The app also lets you control the purifier from your phone and change the settings. This purifier has multiple filtering components including the housing that filters out large particles, a carbon filter for VOCs, a very high-end composite filter, and a Formaldehyde removing catalytic filter. The digital display on the purifier shows the air quality as well as the temperature, humidity, fan speed and temperature setting. One thing that is a bonus with this filter is that it is also a heater. This is perfect for those cold days when you need an additional boost of heat. I found that this heated up almost immediately. The top of the purifier, where the air blows out, rotates. It directs the air wherever you want it and can be set to oscillate 45, 90, or 180 degrees. There is also a tracking mode that will track you and follow you wherever you go. I demonstrate this in the attached video. If there is more than one person, then the top will oscillate between the widest angle created by the people in the room. Very cool!Despite the size and power of this purifier, it is very quiet. As for consumables, there are 2 filters that ultimately will need to be replaced, the carbon filter, and composite filter. Unfortunately I could not find where to purchase the replacements so I can not comment on the price. The app has a link for accessories but it is all in Chinese. I am sure this will be updated soon. This air purifier works amazingly well. I burned something in my kitchen and the auto function on the purifier kicked in and increased the fan speed automatically and quickly cleaned out the smoky air.It takes a lot to impress me since I consider myself a techy and I am an early adopter of new technology. This purifier really does impress me and has far exceeded my expectations. It may be large but it is very cool looking and really looks great in any room.I am very happy with this air purifier. The price is definitely the price of a premium product and is worth every penny.I do recommend this.

The Dreame PM20 air purifier is very powerfully rated, with enough coverage for my semi L-shaped open-concept main floor area (with extended runtime). It’s rated with CADR of 400 m³/h and a 4-stage filtration (HEPA-13, carbon, and more). From the look of the filters after a month of use, it definitely seems it can do a very good job at removing most dust. As I have seasonal allergy, it also seems to do a good job at removing allergens in my home (as I sneeze much less and with lower severity of runny nose while in the house vs. stepping outside). This air purifier works great at quickly cleaning the immediate surround areas, but the far corners of my L-shaped floor do not get as much airflow, so those spaces don’t feel as fresh.Similarly for odour removal, it’s fairly efficiently. However, I needed to test several placements to achieve better odour-removal efficiency, as my kitchen is located on the far end of the L-shape floorplan, I had to locate the air purifier close to the kitchen to effectively remove the cooking related odours.I really likes how it uses mm-wave radar combined with “AI” to detect presence of human (and pets, but I don’t have pets) to track and direct the air flow where you are in the room. The sensitivity of the mm-wave is very good, and the purifier responds very quickly too. It actually out-performs the standalone mm-wave sensors I’ve setup in other areas of my smart-home setup. However, since I intend to use it for air purifying, I don’t actually want to have the fan pointed in my direction everywhere I move, so I disabled this option.During operation and even at full fan speed, the fan and rotating mechanisms are fairly quiet, and definitely won’t disturb you even if you are in the midst of a quiet meditation session. It’s also designed to heats or cools the air based on temperature. The cooling seems to be as effective as a normal fan, and I haven’t tried the heating as it’s still summer. It’s about 40 lbs but has wheels for easy moving, especially useful when I had to haul it around to test different positioning to produce the best air quality.I like that the app gives real-time air quality updates, but don’t use this much as I’ve adopted it as a set-and-forget type of household appliance.Overall, it’s a high-tech device with very good cleaning power but air circulation in complex layouts could improve.

While this air purifier hasn’t been perfect and I have had some issues, it still works extremely well in my apartment and has been really helping with my allergies.First off upon receiving it I was surprised at how big the unit was, I was not expecting it to be so large, though that’s not a problem for me and I actually kind of like it’s size as it has become a central piece of furniture in it’s own right for my Livingroom. When I got it all set up I ran it and noticed a very strong odour that kind of resembled ozone if I were to guess, I checked the manual and it did say it should clear up within 2 days, to which it did clear up in pretty much 2 days exactly.I tried the heater mode as well as it was still cool outside when I received it and the extra heat would be useful, it performed really well and it out out a good amount of heat which gradually warmed up the room.I did get an update in the app and when it updated the heater function stopped working, it would get luke warm then back to cold again which I found frustrating, about a week later there was another update and that fixed the heater issue for me thankfully. When it comes to air quality measuring I find that TVOC and HCHO seem to be working accurately, when I vacuum or cook for example they fluctuate realistically enough that I feel they’re accurate.Where I have a problem is with the particulate sensors, from the day I got the machine and even with several updates I have never seen them drop below the maximum level of 2000ug/m.I am very certain my apartment is nowhere near that bad and moving the unit around or cleaning the sensors makes no difference, they stay constantly maxed out which is frustrating.I have just gotten used to the fact that I don’t think I will ever get that part of the machine to work correctly.Fan volume varies greatly depending on which settings you have it set to, heater mode is moderately loud, but not enough to be a bother unless I’m trying to watch something, and any fan speed above 7 is just as loud if not louder, I only use those speeds if I really need to cycle air fast. For the most part I am more than comfortable keeping the machine set to fan speed 6, it seems like the perfect balance of volume and air flow for me.Overall, it is an expensive unit, but it works quite well despite the few issues I have encountered, I would be willing to give it a recommendation
