Great product, but probably turn off the wifi feature.
If you have multiple cameras this is exactly what you want. Similar to an nvr, just easier and simple. It’s able to produce 2.4 and 5ghz wifi just for the cameras, but it’s only recommended to do this if the hub is closer to the cameras than the router, but a lot. You don’t want it’s wifi interfering with your router wifi.I have it with 2 cams and it works great. I plan to get 1 or 2 more cams and the hub will be perfect for this.Just be careful when you change wifi settings, because once the cams are installed and the wifi disconnects because of a wrong pass or something, you will be forced to pull the cam off the wall and plug the ethernet back into your lan and redo the entire initial setup again. It’s so egregiously ridiculous, after having to do that once, I was tempted to chuck it out the window and buy another brand, but it’s so good that I just make sure that will never happen again.Reolink it you are listening, your initial setup process regarding wifi is ridiculous. I have never owned or seen another wifi camera that ever had to force a user to yank it off the wall outside and be forced to plug it into the router with ethernet all over again when something goes wrong with the wifi. It’s egregious. Please fix it, there’s 0 excuse to do this to your customers.

    A Horrible Unnecessary Evil
The Reolink Hub is the only way to get access to RSTP streams for battery operated cameras. It is also a horrible execution. I have an Atlas Battery Camera and a POE Doorbell camera. The Atlas is capable of running 24/7 despite being battery powered and the Doorbell camera is on POE. If you connect the doorbell camera to the hub, you must turn on the RSTP protocol because turning it on disables direct connection to the POE camera’s stream. Turning on RSTP forces it to be on for all cameras including battery cameras. If you don’t have an Atlas (I tried a Trackmix and Duo lens camera) it will drain the battery. The Atlas runs well with RSTP on however. That being said. The HUB malfunctions every so often and stops broadcasting the RSTP stream! You need to manually toggle the RSTP on/off every day or two in order to maintain that connection. They should just make them available through the CGI commands so we didn’t need to get this hub.

Worth using. Should be compatible with all Reolink cameras but is not.
Easy to use and setup as long as it is a newer Reolink camera. Check compatibility list.

Some camera locations may be a bit far like our camera 3 so then you can sync it to your home wifi.
If you want a separate WIFI device that can locally store all your feeds then the HUB is a must. It’s small, simple to set up and use and so far has been very reliable. Since Reolink isn’t a cloud based monthly payment security system then it’s best in my opinion to add the HUB especially for multiple cameras. You can still access the cameras thru the app on the phone but having the Hub allows you to also monitor on your computers and possibly internet tv though not a Fire stick. It would be cool if my Apple play in my vehicle could run the Reolink app.

Perfect for storage of indoor or outdoor cameras.
Perfect for storage on indoor and outdoor cameras. I have this job setup by our internet router and have cameras in the main parts of the house. It keeps all the recordings on the hub so if anyone steals a camera I still have the footage saved.

Reolink Home Hub, Home Security Systems, Expandable Local Storage, UP to 16MP Motion Recording & Playback, Encryption Algorithm, 2.4/5 GHz WiFi6, 64GB microSD Card Included, No Monthly FeeThis is absolutely awesome. What does it do? Ability to manage 8 reolink cams and store all 8 cameras’ footage into your hub locally. You own the data. Encrypted. The nonpro model (this one) is just a hub that takes 2 micro SD cards. (pro hub lets you connect more than 8 cameras and takes a hard drive instead o SD). It does come with an 64gb high endurance card. I put the sandisk 512GB card in the second slot. This hub allows you add to your reolink ecosystem and associate REOLINK cameras with the hub. Check if your reolink cameras can work with this hub (see the reolink site). The hub can manage up to 8 reolink cameras. It allow ALL reolink footage to be stored to your local home hub (rather than the cloud) thus eliminating the need to subscribe to cloud space –> of course the benefit of uploading to cloud is obviously for the fact that the data is safe from fire and in a different location. The hub connects via ETHERNET to your switch/router. so long as your cameras are on the same network as the hub (same subnet), it is able to connect to your hub and store the data. In fact this hub association with solar powered cameras such as the two that come with this kit, is actually better for batterylife on the solar powered cams becasue the hub manages when and how footage is sent, reducing unnecessary wake-ups and conserving battery. Also he hub acts as a local relay, minimizing power-hungry Wi-Fi activity thus saving battery life as well –> it was found in some forums that you get a huge power savings using the solar power cams with the hub rather than without the hub.Now how does this work when cameras have SD card install in standalone mode and then you join the camera to the hub? what would be the point of keep SD card in the camera itself? Well it acts as redundancy. If network is down, and cannot reach the hub, then footage is stored in the sd card directly in the camera. if your home uses power, and hub is down, then the solar powered battery cams still operate and footage is stored on the sdcard installed in the camera itself. So yes theres still a good reason to keep sd card in the camera itself, even when you have huge storage in the home hub.Something i immediately noticed when using reolink cameras with the home hub is that i can connect to each camrea quicker . Something i didnt expect but was a pleasant surprise. If you have more than 8 cams on your property you could actually buy a second one. Manage two sets of cameras in your home. Example: use one hub for front yard cams and another one for back yard cams. Buying one hub is a nice low cost of entry (compared to the home hub pro which is pricier). Most homes you’d just need one hub. But for more elaborate properties you might either upgrade later on to a home hub pro to get more than 8 cameras… or just expand youir existing setup with another 8 cams with a second home hub.————Anyway, i’m impressed. i absolutely floored by the reolink hub. Thus far i’ve got nothing but great news on this system. VASTLY superior to main stream camera systems. Adding home hub imo is a total MUST HAVE. It adds a lot of value to the setup for very little cost. Saves you from needing a cloud subscription . I can easily recommend this one.

Works very well, like the fact it has its own designated wifi for the cameras. Put 2 512GB as cards in there and running 6 cameras, 5 wireless wifi with solar and one AC wired and works very well. Highly recommend it is a local backup for your wireless cameras!

When it comes to home security, having a reliable and centralized system is essential. After testing the Reolink Home Hub, I found it to be a convenient all-in-one solution for managing and storing security footage from Reolink cameras. With features like expandable storage, high-definition live view, and strong privacy protection, it offers great value for those looking to enhance their home security setup. The Reolink Home Hub has a compact and sleek design that blends easily with home office or living room setups. The lightweight plastic construction is sturdy, and the simple interface makes installation a breeze. The front panel includes a power button, while the back features two SD card slots, a LAN port, and a power input.Setting it up was incredibly easy—I had it up and running in under 15 minutes. I connected it to my router, followed the instructions in the Reolink app, and instantly had access to my cameras. The biggest advantage of the Home Hub is its ability to manage multiple Reolink cameras in one place. I currently have 4 cameras connected, and the hub can support up to eight. It works seamlessly with Reolink’s PoE, battery-powered, and video doorbell cameras (except 4G models). One standout feature is the built-in 64GB SD card, which can be expanded up to 1TB using two 512GB SD cards. Unlike cloud-based security systems, the Home Hub stores recordings locally, eliminating the need for expensive subscription fees. This is a major plus for those who prefer offline storage and want control over their footage.Even if the network goes down, the hub continues recording, ensuring no lost footage. The ability to quickly retrieve videos is another great feature—footage loads significantly faster from the hub compared to pulling data directly from a camera’s SD card. The live view and playback experience is impressive. The Reolink app allows for smooth 4K streaming with minimal latency. Checking security footage from my phone or desktop is quick and efficient, making it easy to monitor activity around my home. The alarm system is another great addition. When motion is detected, the hub sends instant notifications to my phone and can trigger a built-in siren for added security.Privacy is also a key focus. The Home Hub features AES128 encryption, meaning even if someone steals the hub, the recordings remain protected. Files cannot be accessed or recovered without authorization, which is a major security advantage over traditional storage methods.Pros:+Easy to set up and manage with the Reolink app+Supports multiple cameras (up to 8 devices)+Local storage with up to 1TB capacity+Fast video playback & 4K streaming+No monthly subscription fees+Strong privacy protection with encryption+Built-in siren for security alertsCons:-Not compatible with all Reolink cameras (e.g., Argus Pro & 4G models)-Storage is limited to SD cards—no HDD support-Must use the hub to access camera recordings (previous standalone setup may not work)If you’re already using Reolink cameras and want an affordable, no-subscription solution for centralized security management, the Reolink Home Hub is an excellent choice. It’s easy to set up, supports multiple cameras, and provides secure local storage without relying on cloud services. While it does have some compatibility limitations and storage constraints, it delivers great value for those looking to upgrade their home security system. I think this hub it’s a worthwhile investment for peace of mind and data privacy.
