The AmScope SE306R-PZ-LED stereo microscope has interchangeable pairs of 10x18mm and 20x10mm widefield eyepieces, 2x and 4x objectives, upper and lower LED lighting, two stage plates, and a pillar stand. The forward-mounted binocular viewing head has an interpupillary range of 55 to 75mm and a 45-degree inclination to ease viewing for young users. The WF10x18mm and WF20x10mm eyepieces combine with the 2x and 4x objectives to provide 20x, 40x, and 80x magnification, and a longer working distance for inspecting large-scale specimens that require handling or repair. The optical glass lenses provide sharp images, and are fully coated to ensure high-resolution images. Dioptric adjustment accommodates individual eye-strength differences, and eye guards ensure comfortable viewing. A stereo microscope, sometimes called an inspection or dissection microscope, has low magnification and a long working distance that enables users to manipulate the object being inspected.
The microscope has upper (episcopic) illumination that reflects light off the specimen for enhanced visibility of opaque specimens, and lower (diascopic) illumination that transmits light up through the specimen for enhanced visibility of translucent and transparent objects. The LED light source provides bright, cool light for working with temperature-sensitive or live specimens. The pillar-style stand secures the head for precise focusing, and bilateral coarse focus eases use for left- and right-handed users. The stage has a frosted stage plate for use with lower (transmitted) lighting, and a reversible black and white stage plate that provides contrast with light- and dark-colored specimens when used with upper (reflected) lighting. Stage clips that secure the specimen during viewing. The microscope has a 2-1/8″ (53mm) working distance. All metal construction is durable and stain-resistant. Microscopes are instruments used to enhance the resolution of an object or image. Types include compound, stereo, or digital. Compound microscopes use a compound optical system with an objective lens and an eyepiece. Stereo microscopes show object depth in a three-dimensional image. Digital microscopes are used to display an image on a monitor, rather than looking through a lens. Microscopes can have monocular (one), binocular (two), or trinocular (three) eyepieces, with varying magnification abilities. Magnification ability refers to the size of an image. Resolution, also known as resolvant power, refers to the clarity of the image. The interaction between field of view (FOV), numerical aperture (NA), and working distance (WD) determines resolution. Microscopes can control magnification through a fixed focus, or through a range of adjustments. They can also utilize LED, fluorescent, and mirror light sources to help control viewing capabilities. Microscopes are widely used in education, lab research, biology, metallurgy, engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, and in the medical, forensic science, and veterinary industries.
United Scope manufactures microscopy equipment and accessories under the brand name AmScope. The company, founded in 1996, is headquartered in Irvine, CA.

Excellent Stereo Microscope
I read all the reviews on this Stereo Microscope before buying including the negative reviews. My unit arrived in perfect condition after just a few short days and I couldnât be more pleased. The quality of the build is top notch and the LED light controls are wonderful. I use it for Philately (Stamps) and the quality of the image is exceptional. Some reviewer complained about the difficulty of changing the eyepieces because of the screw size. If you remove the screw I could see their consternation but removal isnât necessary, just back it out slowly until you can remove the eyepiece without fully removing the screw. Insert the new eye piece and retighten. I was able change out eye pieces in less than 2 minutes. One also complained about customer service with AmScope. I contacted them because I decided I wanted the ability to achieve 10X magnification. I contacted AmScope via their website and within 4 hours I had the part number to order for the 5X eye piece. My experience was perfect. The other thing I really like about this unit is that the LED lights can be plugged in or run on battery so the unit is very portable. Now I just have to decide whether or not I want to order a USB camera – still researching this as they have many options.

Nice scope, missing 20x eyepiece
I use the scope to check knife edge/burr. It’s great even though it’s a little overkill. One issue I had was that it arrived with only 1 20x eyepiece. I requested a return and a replacement. The replacement arrived with only 1 20x eyepiece. The eyepiece wasn’t in the main box, but was added as a separate, tiny box. I don’t know if this is an AmScope issue or a Amazon issue.

OK
Nice stereo microscope for the price. I bought it for ants classification and it fits my requirements so far. The structure looks very solid and both objective and eyepieces have good quality lenses; the only bad thing is that if you’re working with the WF20x, the image you see is quite dark ( i had to integrate the microscope lightning with a led stripe to be able to see a clear bright image) and you have to literally stick your eyes on the eyepieces. Overall, a good choice anyway!

Fantastic microscope!
The microscope is awesome, it’s an experience looking at insects through it. Originally it arrived missing the 20x eyepiece set. I was able to eventually email the seller and once the email was received it was less than an hour to resolve. Their support was good.

Missing pieces, others have had this problem
Missing one of the Amscope wf20x eyepieces. This affects my use of the microscope. Others have experienced this problem. I like AmScope but want my parts.

I use the 80x with middle and high school
The higher 80x power is a little tricky for younger kids. I use the 20-40x scopes for them. The higher the power, the smaller the field of view and the more patience it takes to get things in focus. This scope cannot easily be changed from a 20-40x to a 40-80x. You have to take out some very tiny screws to change the occular lenses. (It is not something you want the students doing all the time, since the screws will certainly get lost in the process.) Since I own 8 of these scopes and use them all with 20-40x, I bought this scope to be permanently set on 40-80x. If you are working with multiple students a lot of the time and want to offer the higher magnification you might want to consider doing what I did and having some scopes devoted to the 40-80x. However, I must say that for most things, the 20-40x is plenty of magnification for students. You can really see a lot at 40x! So if you just want a good basic choice for classroom use, save your money and just get the scope with the 20-40x.One feature that this particular scope has is the rechargeable batteries. But you can also use regular batteries. My other scopes just use AAs and they last a long time. I love having them be cordless. Also I like the cool LED lights. The lights on my old plug-in scopes used to get dangerously hot. These LEDs are super safe.

Just what Iwas looking for, so my grandkids could see things up close.

Excellent
I’m very happy with this scope so far. An interesting thing happened, in my case. The picture shown here on Amazon, and the picture shown on the Amscope website, and the scope in the video on the Amscope website that shows the operation, all show the lighting controlled by two rocker switches, one is on-off and the other selects whether top light or bottom light, no intensity control. The scope I received is the same model number, but instead of the rocker switches, it has two rotary switches, one for top light and one for bottom light, and each switch rotates from off to high and controls the light intensity of both lights, and, if so desired, both lights can be on at the same time, though I can’t imagine when I would want to do that. But it was a happy surprise, I suppose they have updated the model, but they haven’t changed the pictures, even on their own website. Interesting. Anyway 5 stars. So far.One small amendment: Those tiny screws you have to remove and replace to change the eyepieces are a pain, However, it’s a small price to pay. Still 5.

This is my first microscope – bought for kids/me to look at things. Decided to go with a stereo microscope to start as most items I want to see up close are visible to the naked eye. Pics taken with iPhone hovering over the eyepiece (pyritised ammonite, 2 of a coin at 40x and 80x)Straightforward to use straight out the box and obviously good images. Only a beginner but Iâm happy

Fantastico! Tutto nuovissimo.
