Exactly as Listed – I Like This Item
I will try to be as honest as possible because I depend on other people’s reviews and feel I want to help the best I can: Bought this to replace my heavy wood ladders. I am now 65 years old, and carrying a heavy ladder is harder than it used to be. BUT I still need a heavy duty ladder to hold me and keep me feeling safe and secure due to my fear of heights. These heavy duty fiberglass ladders with aluminum are so easy to move around, and yet feel so safe and heavy duty that it’s amazing the difference. There is no give or nudging when using them like what I felt on my wooden ladders. The rating is perfect for the average person. I keep a few different sizes in my barn for household outside projects. I expect this ladder to outlive me by many years. Very strong. It appears to be a high quality product. I have only used it a few months, so I cannot tell how many years it will last, but it is doing exactly what they claim it should do. No problems or complaints. It arrived to me from Amazon safely inside a large HD cardboard box without any damage. EXTRA NOTE: I see many reviews on here where people have Ladders arrive damaged or scratched up. So many reviews that I was nervous to buy it from Amazon and hesitated a while. Here’s what I think I figured out. It seems like these ladders ship from the manufacturer without any protection. So that means if you buy it from a third party seller the ladder might be shipping directly from the manufacturer to you without any protection and that is when the damage probably is occurring. If you buy the ladder thru a 3rd party seller but from the Amazon warehouse, or if you buy it from Amazon directly, I think the ladder still travels to Amazon exposed. This is where any damage might occur. However, it seems like the chances are slimmer of a group of ladders being delivered to Amazon getting damaged, than if one ladder is shipped to your house directly. But once the ladder arrives to Amazon, they put it inside an Amazon box before shipping it to your home. At least that is how mine arrived. I ordered it thru a 3rd party seller but had it shipping from Amazon. My ladder arrived without a single concern or flaw. But the Amazon cardboard box was beat up pretty badly indicating to me that if the ladder was NOT inside the box, the ladder itself might’ve been beat up. Just my observation and opinion. Good Luck.

Sturdy, stable, heavyset ladder.
This ladder is good, especially for the price point, but it is a bulky to carry around, even when closed and folded, with other tools. I previously used a Gorilla Ladder that was much lighter but not as sturdy. What I miss about the Gorilla ladder was the magnetic top it had, this Louisville ladder does NOT have a magnetic top or section to it.And I know you’re not suppose to stand on the top two steps, but some of the jobs were just out of reach and I was able to stand for long periods on the very top of the ladder, with my feet spaced and placed directly over the legs, to keep it stable. The ladder never budged and the top never gave in or dented, it’s made of very thick ABD type plastic.The only complaint is the shipping. Amazon ships these ladders either as they are, that is, no boxes or wrapping, just the ladder itself with a label. Or they place it in a cardboard box and that’s it. However they are storing them at the warehouses or getting them delivered, they are getting beaten up. The fiberglass red paint is scratched and rubbed off, the ladder is coated in black dust particles, it has scuff marks all over it. It’s not from being used or returned, it’s from their storing, packing and shipping processes. I ordered two of these ladders, over two months and both were the same: scratched, nicked, scuffed, some damages, all from shipping and storage.It’s a shame, as quite a few reviews here are from buyers who say it was a used and returned item they received. I think it’s just Amazon’s warehouse practices.But this is a really great ladder and extremely strong and sturdy, it’ll last for quite some time, for sure.
