Can’t Go Wrong With a Good Brand Name
The tool seems well-made and sturdy. The blades are sharp and they cut well. I’m not using them on a hedge, rather, long bladed leaves on some flowers my daughter planted. The Clipper handle them well, except if there is something else growing up within the leaves that is sort of ‘twiggy,’ then the blades get hung-up. I remember that these things used to be more robust when I was a kid. Oh well, they should get the job done, which is all that matters.

I’m a FISKARS Shears Enthusiast!
The FISKARS Powergear-2 Hedge Shears arrived promptly and were just as described online. As you can see from my photos, all of my manual garden cutting tools are of the FISKARS brand. That’s because I have used this brand of tool for many years, along with other brands of garden shears. FISKARS shears and tools have out-performed and outlasted all other brands consistently over many years. In fact, they may one day be passed on to my grown children as the sturdiest, most durable and most precise garden shears ever made.I chose this particular Powergear-2 hedge cutting shears primarily for their lightweight feature. They are comfortable to hold and maneuver in tight sports. They operate smoothly and efficiently and reliably. My other FISKARS cutting tools are heavier and some have very useful, extendable handles that allow me to trim large and tall bushes and hedges. Some allow me to cut very thick branches easily.I have been using these lightweight shears weekly on extensive, full-grown plantings for almost two months now. They are very sharp, easy to manipulate and cut cleanly all of the time. They are designed for thin branches on hedges and shrubs. They are particularly useful for tall bushes and hedges where I have to reach over my head to trim for long periods of time. Their light weight and clean cutting ability is a definite asset in such situations. Yes, I do have electric hedge cutters, but I rarely use them. I prefer the precise shaping ability that these FISKARS shears alone provide.The shears are an excellent value at $31. I am confident that they will provide years of use, based on current and past experience. They are a real bargain when you consider the high cost that professional landscapers charge. With these excellent shears, I can manage my own yard professionally at a small fraction of the cost.Enjoy!Highly Recommended.

Product is Very Good – Shipping Package/Padding Terrible
Fiskars is a respected product in our household (scissor, fabric cutters, etc.), and this hedge trimmer seems to be great also (but needs more usage before final verdict).The Amazon packaging however, was terrible ! The box was too large and there was absolutely no padding to protect the shears. As a result, the product’s plastic guard was broken (protects the blades and also provides for hanging the item on a nail or hook). Luckily the cutting capability seems OK but this is the worst shipping prep I’ve ever seen from Amazon, and I receive quite a few packages. Most products, even inexpensive items are very well padded, sometimes to excess – this one had no protection whatsoever and it was in an oversized box – not a good combination!
