    Outstanding performance—and flexible
This router has solved long-standing issues I’ve had with my home wifi setup. Let me explain my situation first:I have a separate building behind my house that serves as my office and music studio—it’s where 99% of the tech lives here. I have fiber internet that comes in behind the office, at the back of the property. In the house, I need to feed the TV in the living room at the front of the house. I have ethernet cabling that runs underground between the buildings, so TV in itself is not a problem, but I need wifi in the house and the router in my office won’t cover the whole property. So, I’ve been running a second router in the house, a TP-Link that cost about the same as this one.The TP-Link router has been a continual frustration. The wifi isn’t strong, despite claims, so in going back and forth between the buildings I have to switch wifi sources. Worse, it’s problematic connecting wifi devices to it—some smart devices and even a wifi repeater simply refused to complete the setup process with it, getting part way through the handshaking process then mysteriously going unresponsive—I’ve wasted hours trying to get some devices paired with it, even when nearby. I’ve also had ongoing issues connecting to the admin management of the router, leaving me stuck with the “weak encryption” message when connecting to it.This WAVLINK router had no problem with configuration and the wifi is so much faster than either the router in my office (supplied by the fiber internet company) or TP-Link that I’m stunned. 2.4 GHz wifi is three times as fast as the TP-Link, twice as fast as the office router, and I’m getting 534 Mbps at 5 GHz. And I actually have functional wifi from the house while sitting here at my office desk, and farthest point away from the router—not high speed at this distance, but the fact I have a stable connection this far away is surprising. Wifi is not important for me in the office, but the fact my phone can stay on one router means I don’t have glitches from walking around due to one router going out of range and it waiting until failure before switching the wifi.Especially important in my use case was being able to change mode to “AP” (Access Point) configuration. It looks like this solves my problems, but if I want to set up a mesh configuration to cover my property with wifi more evenly, it can do that too.Very happy to be rid of my TP-Link issues and have a wifi router that works. I originally planned to use this device as a repeater at a more central point between my two buildings, but after realizing how much faster and stronger the wifi is—and the setup flexibility it has—I simply replaced the TP-Link with it, good riddance.

Strong Signal, Fast Speeds. Instructions a little rough though.
If you are looking for a functional, strong performing replacement for your current Wi-Fi router, this is a great option! Signal strength on this thing is seriously impressive, giving you plenty of coverage in large areas. It’s not going to get through steel walls or anything, but under normal conditions this seems to outperform my previous router by quite a bit! Internet speeds are blazing fast, seems like I’m more held back by my internet provider than I am the router which is where I always want to be. This offers some of the most current security types to lock down your wireless network to keep out intruders, so no worries about this going out of date any time soon.Setup is definitely easier with the included instructions if you’re familiar with tech and can do a little personal translating, but otherwise isn’t horrible. I’ve seen much worse! It’s also not the prettiest of routers, looking more like a squid monster about to attack a coastal town…but it’s not so ugly that people are going to gasp when they see it. It looks like it’s a router with a bunch of antennas…so nothing shocking.Overall, this is a great Wi-Fi router with a lot of flexibility. This can work for a very basic setup, or also help get you set for larger installations where you need multiple units for a “mesh” network (connecting multiple routers together to provide the same Wi-Fi network over a larger property). Having four ethernet ports to hardwire devices or switches is a nice feature which for some reason a lot of manufacturers are starting to get skimpy on. Having a USB port to be able to attach a storage device to share over the network is also a under-rated feature, and great to have.Really the setup process being a little more complicated than the average person is going to be familiar with is really the only thing keeping this from being a five-star product. It’s like 4.7-4.8 out of 5 as-is, and an easy full 5 if the instructions were written a bit better. Highly recommended!

it wasn’t an easy setup, but that’s more on me and my requirements. the actual software on the router is well laid out and even has a helpful sidebar that expands on what some of the words or acronyms mean for almost every setting.I get the full speed out of my 500mbps broadband on both the LAN port and the wifi. by default the wifi combines the 5ghz and 2.4ghz bands together, but I found it easier to split them due to my setup.the normal use of this is to use it as a mesh network, but you can also configure it to act as your normal router too, either by connecting it via an ethernet cable to your real router or by bypassing your real router altogether and just plugging it into the ethernet port on your fibre connection on the wall. (this means you can’t do it with an older DSL connection)it has lots of LAN ports that will be very useful to some people. my current setup only requires 2 but I will definitely need more in the future so it has me covered there, which is nice.it only gets very mildly warm, so I’m sure it’s not using much electricity.if you can get it set up right and know what you’re doing this is a great router and well worth the money. if you don’t and are just looking to improve your wifi signal, I’d contact your internet service provider instead and ask them to provide extenders or send someone out.

I’m happy with the router, although I did find setup a little difficult, I got there in the end.I found the range to be quite good, and it was able to push the wifi from within my house into my shed. I wasn’t able to do this before with my previous router.I’ve connected this as a internet ‘repeater’ for my Starlink connection, and works flawlessly. I’ve noticed no drop in mbps between the Starlink, this router, and my devices – so I’m a happy camper.

This router might be the single largest router I have ever used. It is an absolute unit! This router is an 8 inch/20.5 centimetre square router with 8 large antennas arranged around the outside. It has one 2.5Gbps WAN port, one 2.5Gbps LAN port and three 1Gbps LAN ports, which is enough ports for most people’s needs. It was very easy to set up, and it also had a very good signal strength all throughout my home, which is a two story detached home with no other wireless networks nearby. The setup had all of the usual configurations, though I had a little trouble trying to set up a static IP address on my network. There was nowhere within the setup to access this very standard setting, and I am hoping that it was just overlooked on the part of WAVLINK. Hopefully they can issue a firmware update that will add this functionality. It is a brand new product, so it isn’t unheard of for new items to be missing some usual things.I do think it is a bit on the pricey side, though, but being able to set up a mesh network with this as your centrepiece does help a little bit. I was lucky enough to have had a WAVLINK BE3600 mesh router that I wanted to add to my network, and it could not have been simpler. There was no setup involved: I literally plugged it in & turned it on, and without doing anything the AX6000 router had added the BE3600 as a node. To be honest I was expecting to have to make some adjustments, but the fact that this WAVLINK AX6000 was able to use a router from a different product line to extend your mesh network is really amazing. My current wireless setup includes two Linksys AX5400 Atlas Pro WiFi 6 mesh routers, and they have quite a few more steps that are needed to add a new node to your existing network. I consider this a triumph for WAVLINK – well done guys.If you need to upgrade your wireless networking gear from a WiFi 5 setup, I would definitely consider using this WAVLINK AX6000 as your router. With the excellent signal strength and speed, this one unit will work for most normal sized British homes. If you have an older home or a home with lots of thick walls you may need to add an additional node, but you may not. It was able to provide a robust WiFi 6 network to my 1,900 square foot/176 square metre home.

I am not tech savvy, so I had to ask my brother to help install this, so I can’t say much other than it works fabulously. Our internet is now available no matter where we are in the house, and garage. Which was the aim. Set up was quite simple for someone who knew what they were doing.Comes as described.

We live in a rural location and rely on a TP-Link 4G router for our Broadband – in order to get the best signal from our nearest mast I’ve had to install this in our loft, which unfortunately means it’s a distance from many of our devices, including security cameras and our EV wall charger. I’ve tried a few different options for boosting our WiFi range but this dual-band mesh router from Wavlink looked promising.Unpacking the router on arrival I was surprised by its size – it’s a big lump of plastic and not the most aesthetically pleasing. The benefits of this size however include sufficient real estate for the eight antennas, three Gigabit LAN ports, a 2.5G port and 2.5G WAN port. The router is supplied with a power supply, network cable and quick start guide – I found set up straightforward.Using this as an Access Point connected to the TP-Link router has improved the signal strength and speed across our property – note that this can also be used in repeater mode without being hard-wired to the router if required.
