Disappointed in Product (UPDATED review)
UPDATE: After researching dash cams, I selected this due to features and good reviews. The product was package well and appeared to be a solid quality product. It does not have a display and had a cleaner less bulky look. you need to link to your phone via an app to view video. Originally, I stated product did not work right out the box. It continuously beeped and would not connect to my phone nor would the dash cam reset function. I wanted to give it one last try before sending back and gave customer support a call. They told me that the product required 12v from the battery. I was connecting via the USB-C which is only about 5v. After all, it is a usb-c port. You will have to hard wire in power. I couldn’t comment on the video quality or road experience due to issues described in initial review. I’ve now had a chance to actual use it and it works great. Video was good and park mode work great. I’m giving this product a 4. It is of good quality, works great, and the customer support resolved my issue. However, the product description did not mention a 12v requirement, the product had to be hard wired, and the included instructions lacked trouble shooting details. For details you would have to visit their site or call customer service. I was fortunate enough to have unused space in my fuse (21 VW Atlas). I found some fuse taps here on amazon that allowed me to just plug into ACC and B+ power from in the fuse box. I wished they included in the box. Installing the wiring out of sight was a pain. You might want to get professional installation. If the tap were included and more detailed instructions proved, I would have given a 5.
