Great purchase
These dumbbells have lasted a long time as you might expect. The only sign of wear I’ve I have noticed is some of the metal flaking off in tiny spots. No rust or anything. Buy them!

Smells like Paint
My 8 lb weights came wrapped in paper packing. They look fine and feel fine. No sharp points anywhere. One raised spot on the edge of the handle. Figured I could file that down easily. Didn’t hurt or cut but was noticeable. My main problem is the odor. I didn’t think metal weights would smell. These smell like paint. The more I use them, the more they smell. I do not want to smell paint when I’m working out. Also, I don’t want something that is dry that smells like fresh paint. That gives me the creeps. To return it for the shipping cost is too much trouble for me. I’ll pass these on to some people who don’t care about them smelling like paint and try another straight handle 8 lb dumbbell pair … from another manufacturer. No more paint odor for me.

Fine for over 7 years but one of them broke in half
We have had the 85 pound pair since Nov 2013. One of them broke in half today just using them for lunges. With weights like dumbbells and plates my expectation is that they last forever because it is just iron but I guess these are faulty.
