[DURACORD ROPE]: Synthetic blend that is soft as cotton with durability of polyester. This rope is All-Weather and resistant to impurities. DURACORD is the densest rope on the market resulting in less stretch and increased support when relaxing.

Customers say

Customers find this hammock to be of top quality, comfortable, and durable, noting it has held up well outdoors for a year with minimal wear and tear. Moreover, they appreciate its appearance, build quality, and color, and consider it worth the price. However, the stretchiness receives mixed reviews.

    Great hammock
This review is after 7 years of use. This hammock has been amazing. It stayed outside year round (except during hurricanes) under some Crepe Myrtle trees in my back yard through summers and winters in the Deep South. We have temperatures topping 100F during the summer with average rainfall of over 60 inches annually. Finally after 7 years of use it is starting to wear out but not from rot. Most of the wear is from the ropes rubbing together with very frequent use. I highly recommend this hammock to anyone who wants a quality, well-made hammock.

    Great material, nice color
This hammock is made from solid, durable material with a soft, cotton-like feel. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to purchase a hammock that will last a long time. The oatmeal color is a very neutral, it is not too dark and looks more natural and balanced than the bleached white available with other brands.About the length:Nearly all hammocks on the market are 13 feet long, and this one is also advertised as such. I measured my wooden stand and it is exactly 13 feet long, however, when I began using the hammock, it became too long/too loose after it broke in. I don’t think this is necessarily a problem with the hammock, but a problem in general for people who have a combination of: 1. a wooden stand which bends slightly under weight; 2. a low stand which will not keep you hanging if the hammock becomes too loose 3. heavy use/use by more than 1 person at a time. My recommendations to people experiencing these problems is to either shop for slightly shorter hammocks or hammocks made from polyester (these are tighter), or to shorten the hammock by tying knots around one or both ends of the hammock, where the ropes come together.

    It’s a Great Hammock
After a little problem with delivery by courier service I received my Hammock in perfect condition. The Seller East Coast Hammock had the best Customer Service I have seen in a very long time – I would recommend them to anyone. The hammock is a perfect shade of blue, I had never seen a hammock with any color but beige before. Best of all it is the Perfect size – I have an oversized iron Hammock stand I bought years ago and it’s so difficult to find a hammock with the correct length that doesn’t drag on the ground. This one is absolutely Perfect, and made extremely well. It’s very sturdy and tight. Love it!

    Seems more than satisfactory
This is my 3rd Hattera Hammock. The first 2 have been cotton and, since I leave them out from April to October, have lasted about 4 years each. The first gave out when the cotton rotted out, the second when the spreader bar rotted. I am hoping for better from the duracord construction. I ordered one polyester hammock but sent it back the next day as it is so stretchy as to be unusable on a metal hammock frame. (Don’t waste your time) Since Hatteras no longer makes the cotton hammock I ordered the duracord model.I put the duracord (which is supposed to be ‘cotton like’) on my metal frame. The hardware was not as heavy as on my previous hammock and I had to go get smaller S hooks but it’s heavy enough to support anything I’m going to put in it. It is stretchier than the cotton but not nearly as bad as the polyester. I had to re-adjust the hanging chains 3 times due to stretch but finally got it to the tension I wanted it. No further problems with stretch. It is as comfortable as the cotton one and I hope, longer lived.Update one year later: Still happy. The hammock sits out from Spring to Fall. It has not, after 2 seasons, discolored or shown any signs of rot. Still happy.

    Great Hammock, worth the price.
We purchased this hammock 5 years ago. This hammock has been up year around in Northwest Florida through rain, ice, high temperatures and is still going strong.

Very comfortable and more durable than cotton rope hammocks
4 years ago I replaced a 5 year old cotton rope hammock that had rotten and broken strands with a Duracord hammock at our Wisconsin vacation home (only used from June – September, but left out in the rain)…it still looks and feels brand new.I recently replaced our 10 year old cotton rope hammock at our primary residence in California (used from April – October, which is primarily dry weather), given that the cotton rope hammock ropes were fraying and one finally broke.Duracord is far more durable than cotton and is just as comfortable and is more resistant to rot than cotton.

Still going strong after ten years!
I bought the Duracord Hatteras hammock back in March 2013 It’s beautiful still-no rotting, no discoloration. It’s kept outdoors year around and I cover it with a waterproof hammock cover during rainy weather. It is glorious to relax in my backyard with a book or look up at the trees. Every home needs one!

    Disappointed
Purchased July 2015 and used only in summer. Unfortunately this summer, the ropes are already fraying. Very disappointed.
