This heavy duty strap filter wrench has a heavy duty, heat treated alloy steel yoke and strong web strap. This strap filter wrench is used with a 1/2 inches drive to remove or install filters and other objects up to 6-1/2 inches in diameter. The 3-5/8 inches long yoke fits into tight areas.

Gets stuck stuff unstuck!
If you have a water filter case that is stuck, this is the tool you need. I tried everything and nothing worked. I was ready to spend a lot more to replace the whole thing and then I saw this. It was easy to use and works great!

Best wrench so far to un-screew Whole House water filter
When you purchase a whole house water filter they always come with the most worthless cheap tool, that works one or two times. This strap tool used with a 1/2″ socket handle is a winner. Also I used to use Vaseline on the threads so the case would unscrew easier. Now I have switched to a special plastic on plastic thread lubricant that is much better, beats the Vaseline lube hands down, see pic. The strap is heavy duty, and would be something that you could hand down to your kids, it could easily last 50+ years, super well built. I wish I would have gotten this 30 years ago.

Pros are apparent when your putting this thing to the test.Build quality is significantly higher or equal to every similar product I have used.The tool is capable of performing in some pretty tight areas usually with ease.The material grabs very well. Just remember that a clean surface free of oily dirty debris is ideal and allows the tool to perform flawlessly. (I’ve always used small amount of an ammonia free glass cleaner directly on a rag.)The only negative I’ve experienced is simple.Add the use of a 3/8 ratchet without an adapter.I understand the idea that this tool can outperform a standard filter wrench but requires more torque to actually turn due to force applied. so it makes sense to include the use of the larger heavy duty ratchet/breaker bars.However when I’m upside down sideways in boats compartments or trying to remove a filter from a vehicle without pulling twenty layers of plastic shielding I just need a product capable of excessing the filter in time saving ways.More than once or twice now I’ve grabbed this thing paused and found myself realizing I didn’t bring an adapter and almost never any 1/2 tools to service calls. Then I end up a little irritated I didn’t buy a brand with an additional square built into the opposite side…Overall Lisle has built another great tool that I have become attached to.

Perfect to remove oil filters
I could not remove a stuck oil filter. This is the 2nd time in years of doing oil changes. The 1st time the clamp wrench worked despite completely crushing the oil filter.Unfortunately, this 2nd time it was really stubborn. I tried many different methods on YouTube with no success. I bought this strap wrench as a last resort, but I wish I would have bought it sooner.Itâs perfect for vertically and horizontally place oil filters. Easy to use and fits great in small places! No fear of breaking the filter in half by clamping or sticking a screwdriver through it.Also, I did buy a 4 piece ratchet adapter for $5, which is included in the pictures because I did not have a 1/2â ratchet.

Saved me a plumberâs call.
I have two very large whole house filters in the crawl space of the house I recently moved into. When I attempted to remove the filter housing, it wouldnât budge. I released the pressure on the line and tried the filter wrench, filter wrench with a pipe on the handle, pounded on the filter wrench with a rubber mallet, pounded on the filter wrench with a three pound hammer, twisting an oil filter strap wrench on it, and heating the exterior part of the housing but nothing would move the housing at all. After the second day I received this strap wrench. Even this product with my ratchet wouldnât twist the housing until I combined this strap wrench with a four-foot section of pipe and applied steady strong pressure. I had to use all of my body weight, but both housings did twist off. The old filters did have grease around the o-ring but there was no way I was getting them off without this product.

Made in USA. Not labelled USA on the tool though, unfortunately.

Used to remove two water filter sumps which were stuck tight. Worked perfectly, and had to endure a lot of force.
