Sturdy Little Spoons That Are Eco-Friendly!
When I ordered these, I had my oldest kiddo in my head when she was running out the door with a yogurt in her hand on mornings she woke up late after staying up late finishing up homework and etc. (remember high school junior years?) Wish I had these compostable spoons for her, so she could take with her, eat her yogurt on her way to school, and dispose of them without feeling bad. These 200 Count Compostable Biodegradable Spoons are eco friendly and come in a bulk of 200 pieces — if you were to use this everyday, it’d last you almost seven months! What surprised me was how sturdy these spoons are. I pushed it down (back side of spoon) really hard with three fingers. No budge. I pushed it down with a full jar of spaghetti sauce. No budge. I have used these for yogurt and my nightly ice cream and they worked fine. They aren’t designed to scoop a big quantity nor meant for heavy use, they are for dessert, yogurt, ice cream, and such. These will come in handy when my kids have play dates, birthday parties, I can also donate for class parties and such, and bring it with me yogurt & on-the-go. Very versatile, convenient, and wallet-friendly!

Eco friendly
Decent sized mini spoons. These are eco friendly, made out of bamboo. Quality is good. Used this for an event selling ice cream.

Some Quirks, But Work Well For Frozen Or Thicker Foods
These compostable ice cream spoons work well overall for frozen foods and more solid liquids like greek yogurt, etc. that hold their form. They come as a box of 200 and then they are packaged in plastic as sets of about 50 I believe as there are 4 sets. They are sturdy and heat resistant up to 200F. They are also plastic free so a great option to reduce your plastic use.I say that though about being great for ones that are thicker or hold their shape because of one sort of design flaw for runny type liquids. The spoon indentation is the same as the handle indentation. So it is all just one big indentation. This means if you are eating something runny then it travels down from the spoon head to the handle and onto your fingers. It works as a kind of moat down the handle.Which for ice cream and yogurt and things doesn’t matter much. But once it starts to melt or if you’re eating something runny like thawed frozen blueberries you notice it.The only other critique I have is the wording they use, decompose within 90 ays in a commercial compost facility. It takes 90 days in the commercial compost facility but they estimate 6months or so at home. Not a huge deal but not quite the highlighted claim they make. PLA spoons also only take 90 days or so in a commercial compost facility. But PLA spoons take 1-2 years at home to decompose. Just something to keep in mind. But overall they work great for their intended uses just with a few quirks. If you don’t need them for something runny then they are great.

Spoons for Desserts
These compostable spoons are a solid alternative to plastic, especially for ice cream, yogurt, and other desserts that arenât rock hard. Theyâre surprisingly sturdy for plant fiber and sugarcane material, and they donât get soggy quickly, even when used with liquids. The smooth surface makes them comfortable to use, and the compact size works well for kids, party tastings, or dessert toppings. That said, the small and shallow design means theyâre not ideal for large servings or tackling frozen-solid ice cream. Runny foods can also travel down the handle, which can get a little messy.Overall, theyâre practical, eco-friendly, and convenient for casual desserts, parties, or reducing plastic waste, as long as you keep their limitations in mind.

Great for sampling, perfect size for kids hands
These wooden spoons are the perfect size for sampling items, or for ice cream treats with kids. While other spoons have a long handle of wasted space, these are the perfect size to have a grip on, while still remaining compact and easy to travel. And unlike other compostable silverware that bends and melts in hot liquids, this stays solid even in heat. I see these being great for chili tasting contests, for ice cream bowls for kids, hot cocoa parties, or even for camping trips so you don’t have to clean any spoons. The fact that these are compostable and made of birchwood make these excellent environmental choices for anyone. You get 200 pieces, which should last you a long time or one time if you have a large amount of people to serve.

Flimsy spoons
Whether these are a good purchase or not depends on your situation. The spoons are about 4 inches tall and would be good for events that have partially softened ice cream and kids. They might also be good for cocktail parties for storing drinks. If you are like me, and like to eat your ice cream from freezer directly to bowl, these spoons will not work for you. When I tried this, the spoon bent in half. At least, these spoons are compostable.

Disposable spoons
These spoons are perfect for the little ice cream cups and to hand out for in classrooms to go with them. The spoons feel very sturdy and look like paper material in appearance. The spoon head is pretty dense, able to dig into the ice cream and pick it up out of the cup. By the design, it is strong when scooping up the correct way but if any of the kids were to bend the spoon the other way then it would begin to fold. Very good disposable spoons especially when I try to cut down on plastic waste.
