Absolutely works!
To preface, I’m almost 70 and have been a nail biter most of my life…it’s a terrible habit and I finally decided I wanted to stop once and for all. So, I ordered this product and it is, without a doubt, the most heinous taste ever…thus it works! I have not put a nail anywhere near my teeth since I started using it. I would highly recommend it to break the nail biting habit. That said, be forewarned, it’s not required to be biting your nails to get this terrible taste into your mouth…if you try to dislodge some tiny bit of food from between your teeth with your finger, the evil taste in your mouth will be the same. Buy some toothpicks and keep your floss handy. Good luck!

Worked great
We started trying to get my daughter (2) to stop sucking her thumb by reminding her not to do it. This worked to a certain degree but there were always moments that she was upset or tired that we couldnât get her to stop. To avoid a power struggle we started putting this on her nail. We explained that it would taste bad and it would remind her not to put her thumb in her mouth. It literally worked right away. She put her thumb in her mouth maybe 4 times in the first day and took it right out. The next few days I could see the muscle memory of almost putting her thumb in and stopping. Then after like 4 days we were in the clear. Itâs been about a month and it took! I think it worked so well for us because we started with a few weeks of just reminding to create a good base, but itâs undeniable that this product worked really well and really fast when we were ready for it.

The ONLY ointment that made me completely stop biting my nails. Tastes awful I would be cautious applying this before eating finger foods though otherwise your finger food will taste horrible lol.

Not for every kid
Worked for my 2 year old. The taste was bitter enough she doesn’t want to put her thumb in her mouth. We did had to reapply since it wore off after a couple days but it seems like she is to the point she doesn’t want to bother trying anymore. On the other hand my 4 year old did not care about the taste and did not work for him. I did read that some toddlers/kids have a difference in taste buds so they can like it. So theres that.

Use caution when using with 1 year olds
Be prepared when trying this with a 1 year old. This product works, but caused my 1 year old to throw up, even after it was removed. The dentist recommended it, but the results were not the best. My child wouldn’t go to sleep because he was traumatized from what happened and wouldn’tsuck his fingers.We got no sleep that night. He stopped sucking his fingers, but we had to stop using this completely due to the horrible results.

I donât know why I didnât buy this sooner!! 🙁 my 2yoâs dentist highly recommended it as my daughter finger sucks her 2 fingers and nothing helped!!! it started to affect her upper teeth making her bite look overlapped 🙁 you have no idea how happy I was when i got this in the mail. It was INSTANT!!!! with no complaints. today she is 5 days sober of finger sucking lol and she doesnât even question it or bother with her fingers! A thing of the past! Serious Deterrent
I bought this nail polish to stop biting my nails, and wow I didnât realize how often I put my hands in my mouth every day. I thought it was just when I bit my nails, but nope. Anything you used to do with your hands that ends up in your mouth? Forget it. Flossing, eating snacks, even crushing or rolling herbs it all tastes like this polish now. The taste even lingers on your body if your hands touch yourself while washing. A quick rinse or gargle fixes it, but otherwise, this stuff is a serious deterrent. This polish doesnât just stop nail-biting it makes you rethink everything you do with your hands. The only downside is that I wish the taste wouldnât transfer so easily.

Amazing product. Does what it says on the tin.Iâve bitten my nails for almost thirty years. I once stopped biting them for about six months but only because they were in artificial nails always. But thereâs never been a time where Iâve had them exposed and not bitten. Itâs been a real battle.My nails have therefore always looked bitten, unhealthy, malnourished and quite disgusting. I could only go on dates if I had fake nails. Playing pool, typing, holding a microphone or even gesturing became quite embarrassing with these nasty nails. I always felt embarrassed and disappointed in my self.I decided to try a bitter tasting polish as a fix. Best decision ever! This one tastes so Terrible and each coat lasts for days so you only have to reapply every 3-5 days depending on how often you wash. That means even though itâs a small bottle, it will last you months.I started using this on the 23rd of September 2018 and because of how bitter it tasted, the aversion started immediately. I stopped biting immediately but would initially still try to just have the fingers around my mouth but the taste is so nasty and long lasting that i actually became used to keeping my hands away from my mouth and even hated the idea of my hands going near my face. Do keep the bottle tightly sealed and clean as mine leaked and so itâs almost empty. However, even though I only used it for six weeks, Iâve now stopped biting my nails and instead obsess about having a healthy nail care regime which consists of pushing the cuticles back, painting them and applying nail hardener. My nails have grown leaps and bounds as you can see from the before and after photos (taken 6-7 weeks apart). I can now have a full manicure, paint them and flaunt my nails. They look amazing, I get complements from friends and family but they are quite weak due to extended Time spent biting for almost 30 years plus lots of gels, acrylic and stick on nails. So I am now rather focused on treating them and getting them strong and healthy.I canât explain the joy, peace, confidence and freedom I feel from using this. Itâs honestly changed my life. Been a lifelong nail biter.I’m worst in the car where I do it absentmindedly.Was a bit sceptical about how good this stuff would be, or how long lasting it would last, but my fears turned out to be unfounded. It is awesome, tastes disgusting, and it very hard wearing.It’s almost invisible unless you’re really looking close, and the few times I’ve forgotten about it, and started to bite a nail, I’m given a very swift reminder not to do it again. The taste is bitter, and stays in the mouth long enough for you to not want to do it again.I sit here about two weeks into using it – nails are growing back nicely, no more sore fingers – nails are actually starting to catch on surfaces if I rub my fingertips over things. Amazing.I imagine I’ll keep up the treatment for another couple of weeks, then stash the little bottle somewhere, and if I start to slip back into old habits, just do some shorter treatments as necessary, but I’m hoping this will help me break the association completely.If you want to stop – couldn’t recommend this stuff highly enough.
