Works well, easy to change the dies if you have other ones. Been using it for rivets, not grommets. As others have said, the cushion that goes on the handle doesnât fit. Which is a bummer because it does hurt your hands after a while

I make busy blankets, sometime called fidget quilts. Think of a large placemat sized piece of fabric with items on it: a zipper to zip up and down, a button to un-button and button, a fabric pocket with a hook-and-loop closure which can be opened and keys on a ribbon removed; a strip of âfurâ which can be petted/stroked to help bring memories of Fido or Fluffy, a string of large, colorful acrylic beads to “worry”, and something to lace up – like how you would lace up your sneakers. I make these busy blankets for residents of our local memory care facility. I had been making ribbon loops – which takes too much time. Then I found a kit that I could install grommets by hammering them. Evidently, I’m not strong enough to have made that work. Then I saw an on-line video which recommended that I get one of these grommet hand presses if I’m going to be doing “production” work – which I am.Right now I’m using the 1/2″ sized grommets. I take a little metal circle and place it over the space where I want a hole. I take a ball point pen and draw a line inside the circle. That’s the size I want my hole to be. Sharp snips make the holes, I insert the larger piece with the “throat”- or whatever it’s called – on the machine, slip the right side of the fabric face down over the “throat”, put the little metal circle on top and bring the handle down. I don’t even have to stand up and put some oomph into the effort. The fixing of one grommet is the work of less than a minute. And, when I’m putting 6-8 grommets into a single busy blanket, time adds up. As soon as I’ve used all of the ½â grommets Iâll start using the 3/8â grommets. The shoe laces Iâm using will fit that size too.My ONLY complaint is that this company doesnât sell refills of its grommets. Yet. I did ask the question about what other grommets could be used with this QWORK hand press and was advised that any would do. Well, Iâve tried using the ½â grommets from the original kit I bought and the press doesnât make them work. Iâm thinking itâs because the grommets might be stainless steel and of a stronger metal or itâs because of me. Iâll try again when Iâm about to run out of the 3/8â grommets. The thing is, if I want to buy grommets in bulk then a tool is usually for sale, too – buy this tool and get a pile of grommets!. All I want are more grommets! I already have this tool and it makes my work so easy. Itâs worth every dime. I donât need another one.

Iâve had this for a couple years now and have used it many times. It takes a little practice and patience, but once you get the hang of it, this tool is invaluable. Iâve made everything from shade sails to custom sized tarps to grill covers. Comes with plenty of eyelets to play around with, and when you need more, you can pick them up at nearly any hardware store or right here on Amazon
