Beautiful quality traditional fixture
We have brushed nickel Kohler Devonshire products in one of our bathrooms (pedestal sink, faucet / handles, shower head, towel and toilet accessories, etc). All were purchased directly from an authorized Kohler bath center. We have recessed lights in there but didnât have any sconces by the mirror. We were excited to see this 3-light Devonshire bathroom fixture because It fits right in – we would have bought this had it been available a few years ago.Appearance:One thing that we really love about the light is that can be positioned facing upward or down. We donât need as much light in the room due to our recessed lighting – so we loved that we could turn this up. Also by it being positioned upward, it hides having to see lightbulbs inside it. The light sits flush against the wall and doesnât have any gaps. The fixture is pleasing – a traditional / classic tiered look to the metal. The only negative thing I have to say about the appearance is that this light has a slightly different brushed nickel color than all of the other pieces in my bathroom – it is slightly more muted while the other brushed nickel pieces are just slightly âshinierâ. (The brushed nickel is nothing like polished chrome that I have in my other bathrooms though). I would say that 999 people out of a thousand coming into my bathroom wouldnât notice that there is a slight color difference but I had the light right next to the faucet while we were installing it and I noticed.Installation:- Compared to many 3-light bathroom fixtures this was a breeze. But we did learn a few things we wish we would have known first. This fixture comes with a back mounting plate that we took great pains to line up and level. There were multiple different places you could screw into the plate so you could attach it to your wall, which was nice. Well it turns out that there is give on the fixture itself after attaching the light to the mounting plate, so that was a waste of time.- The light fixture has 3 wires (positive, negative, ground that you attach to your existing wiring – and you get wire nuts included in the box). Then the wires attach to a quick connect. You donât need to have someone else hold onto the light while trying to wire it into the wall – just wire up one half of the quick connect and then when youâre ready you can attach that end of the connector to the mate that is connected to the light. Easy!- The glass sconces are easy to assemble – just place them over the end of the metal and a plastic collar screws on to hold them in place.- We had to unscrew the middle sconce to tighten the set screw of the round middle piece covering the back plate. There wasnât room to screw it with the glass sconce on.- It was more difficult to level up the fixture once it was in place than anticipated because the left light and right light didnât seem to have the same readings on the level. I donât know if the metal isnât straight across or what. It is so close that no one will notice though.Quality:- We exclusively have Kohler plumbing in our entire home – including kitchen and laundry room – due to the quality of their products. You get solid metal, quality construction that is sturdy and will last.- Other than the slight variation in color and the slight non-level business (which I am being very picky about), this item was perfect. It looks amazing, like it was always there, installed it right along with the rest of the bathroom fixtures.Overall, we are very happy with the light and would definitely recommend it whether you have Devonshire faucets or other similar traditional products in your bath. It’s a good value for the quality of the product.

Rusted in less than a year
I have had this for less than a year, and it has rusted! Yes, it is in a bathroom, and bathrooms get damp, but I assumed Kohler was a reputable brand and I thought for $210 that it would be good quality that would last a long time.

Kohler Upgrade
We looked at several places for new hardware for our bathroom remodel. We wanted the oil rubbed bronze and really liked the Devonshire style because we could get everything we needed to complete the bathroom. Great classy look from a company that makes reliable products.

“Design Makes the Difference”, indeed.
So, a few years ago, my wife and I decided we wanted to update the look of our bathroom. We started replacing much of the older 80s-90s style wooden fixtures and shelves, and updating our fixtures with brushed nickel plated equivalents. The 2 things we hadn’t yet updated, simply because we never found something we liked.. was the light fixtures (more on that in a few) and the medicine cabinet/mirror.I’m happy to report, we’re officially down to just 1 of those items, left to replace. :)This light fixture, checks all of the boxes that we required for our upgrade.Due to the previous owner’s placement of the electrical box, in the wall.. and the fact that our current faux tile is no longer being made, we were limited in what fixtures, and ORIENTATION, we were to put the lights at. This unit, for example, cannot be faced downward, due to the fact it would then overlap the medicine cabinet, preventing us from opening it.However, this unit is reversible, and that immediately appealed to my wife, who has always had a bit of an OCD about the light fixture not matching. On top of that, this unit has 3 bulb outlets, which ALSO meets a requirement for us.You see, our single bathroom is relatively small, so 4 lights makes it much too bright in the room, and 2 lights isn’t enough. On top of that, due to the color scheme of the walls, soft white light reflects too yellow, and ‘daylight’ bulbs reflect too blue. So, we’ve adopted a 2 daylight, to 1 soft light bulb requirement in there.. our last light fixture was 3 bulbs, so we had to find a replacement that ALSO had three bulbs.Installation was a breeze, it actually took longer to take down the old light fixture, than it did to wire up, connect, and mount this one.. including installing the bulbs. Finally, our existing hardware is all Kohler, so the light fixture had to be, too. (I know.. I know.. this is my wife’s requirement, not mine ;)So, obviously this light fixture checked off all of the boxes, and my wife loves the look of it.Now, all she has to obsess over, is the medicine cabinet being replaced, AND the left over metal brackets, from the previous light (that are barbed, and stuck in the wall) Baby steps, I suppose :)At one point, Kohler’s tag phrase was ‘Design Makes the Difference’, and this piece, much like all of our fixtures, proves that point, all too well.
