Mouse pad, shouse pad!
I am irrationally excited about this mouse!Brief backstory– I’ve been a stay at home mom for a decade. It’s been a little longer than that since I held a traditional job or used a computer for more than a couple minutes. I’ve recently gotten into gaming with my kids (highly recommend for bonding time!), and inherited an aging Acer Nitro laptop. Come to find, using a trackpad is rough with some games– so I set out to find a mouse.I knew I wanted something better than the old school mouses with the hardboiled-egg-yolk on the bottom. I was also trying to avoid a wireless mouse, because anything in my house that isn’t physically connected to someone or something WILL get misplaced. As it turns out, there are still WAY too many mouse options. Luckily my kiddo saw what I was searching for and kindly let me know that ‘RedDragon is so O.P.’ which I’ve learned means it’s fantastic.The fact that this mouse is super affordable AND made by a brand with a solid reputation? We were already off to a great start. I unboxed the mouse, and just like I was hoping, it was the easiest setup imaginable. If you’re a millennial or older, you remember the days of having to install software just to use a mouse. Then, there’s always something wrong with a driver, something has to be uninstalled and reinstalled, bla bla bla. Thankfully that was NOT the case with this mouse. Despite my computer being fairly ancient, all I had to do was plug the USB-A on the end of the cord into the USB-A on my laptop, my computer made a little ‘ding’ sound, and the mouse instantly worked.I’m not sure what else a mouse should be judged on, so these things may or may not matter to you: the gradient rainbow lights are ADORABLE, it has the little spinny wheel between the left and right click buttons (to scroll if you’re reading something or to zoom in/out in a game), where your extra fingers rest on the sides is a pleasant texture, there are a bunch of buttons that I haven’t figured out the use for yet but I’m sure they’ll be handy, and also it came with stickers.For me, the best part of this mouse is that you don’t really need to have the perfect setup with a solid surface and a mousepad and all of that. As I type this, I’m curled up on my couch, with the mouse resting on a pillow next to me. It still works perfectly fine on pillow. Earlier I was using my leg as a surface. It’s very adaptable and I appreciate that!All in all, highly recommend!

Can’t get software to work
The only reason I gave 3 stars is because I couldn’t get the software to work. When I launched the software I get a “connect correct usb device” message. Tried multiple usb ports, uninstall, reinstall, run as administrator, same results. If I’m missing something and you can get the software to work the I would say this is a budget friendly five star mouse.I really like everything else about this mouse. I use a Logitech G502 and this mouse is similar in size, just slightly skinnier. Just the right amount of rgb, it’s noticeable without being glaring or distracting. The shell is solid and feels good in your hand. It tracks well and the buttons feel nice. The scroll wheel is not the G502 scroll wheel so it feels a little off to me. In today’s age of super lightweight mice, this mouse is going to be heavy. I like a heavier mouse so it feels just right to me.If you are ok with the default rgb, and don’t need set macros or assign buttons (or if you can get the software to work) then this is a great mouse for it’s price range.I will keep trying to get the software to work and if I do I will update this review.

You Get a Lot of Mouse for Your Money
My youngest daughter has gotten into PC gaming, and the basic office mouse we had just wasn’t cutting it for her. I started looking around and wasn’t about to pay the crazy prices some of these companies ask. I found this Redragon mouse, and I’m giving it a full five stars because the value here is just undeniable.What I like is that for a very reasonable price, you get a piece of equipment that performs extremely well. The tracking is smooth, the clicks are responsive, and it feels comfortable in my hand, so I know it’s fine for hers. She immediately loved the colored RGB lights, which seem to be a big deal for kids’ computer setups these days. The extra programmable buttons on the side are a nice feature that you usually find on more expensive models. It’s a solid piece of hardware that does its job without any fuss.If I have to find a dislike, it’s that you can tell it’s built to a budget. The plastic doesn’t have the same hefty, premium feel as a mouse that costs three or four times as much. It’s not flimsy, not at all, but you can tell where they saved the money. The cord is also just a standard cord, nothing fancy. But honestly, for the price I paid, those are things I can easily overlook. It works perfectly, my daughter is happy with it, and it feels like I made a smart purchase. It delivers excellent performance for the money.
