Good buy!
For the price and fast shipping from the seller this item canât be beat. I used this to drill out some AN5 volt heads for an experimental airplane. You can buy AN hardware with the head already drilled but they are almost $6 each. See picture for the setup I used. The drill bits that it comes with are just ok, if you went out and bought a cobalt but the job would have gone much faster. Key is to go slow and use plenty of lube.

Drilling safety holes in bolts.
I like that is easy to use, just put your bolt into the proper size hole .I do not like that it is made for modern only thin headed bolts . I wanted to use it for vintage Ford hardware . Ford used very thick headed bolts and tall nuts compared to modern hardware .

ESSENTIAL tool for my kit
FANTASTIC little device. You can easily use it with about any drill but I’d recommend using a drill press if you have one. Absolutely essential tool for anyone in the racing community. The only thing that would make it better would be a built in way to anchor it to the workbench (a set of mounting holes for example). I put mine in a vise and it worked fine but was just a little awkward. Certainly not a serious complaint.A little bit of advice. If you’re going to drill hard bolts (brake caliper mounting bolts on a race bike for example), buy the strongest, hardest bits you can find and buy a bunch of them. The fixture works GREAT but your bits will wear out.

Works well.
Works for both metric and standard, as you can tighten the drill guide to fit multiple sizes. I am able to drill bolt heads with ease, and also drill the ends of bolts with ease.

Works alright, not perfect though.
It works ok for regular hex head bolts with regular size heads, but when you get to smaller bolts its obvious that the holes arent in the center of the apex of the bolt you’re drilling. Maybe im judging harshly because i used to work in a machine shop, but the off center angle cause me to break one of the drill bits. I have to say however that the drill bits are of good quality. The hole they make also is large enough to pass .401 diameter safety wire through without a problem. I did get what I paid for though. I could have spent double.

Holds the bolt nicely. Having a drill press helps
Storage compartment on the side for drill bits. Holds the bolt nicely. Having a drill press helps. Make sure to use a cutting oil. If you are good you can sharpen the drill bits, but you might need a magnifier to do so.

Works great for the money, but buy different bits.
I have some AN bolts on my aircraft brakes that I need drill for safety wire. I bought the jig and did some trial holes on some old AN wheel bolts. The jig itself works fine. It easy to use and the little compartment for drill bits is a nice touch. The bits them selves however could be improved. Even with plenty of cutting oil, they’ll last about 3/4 of the way through a 1/4″ bolt head before becoming too dull to cut a hardened bolt.

Exactly what I wanted – works great
This is exactly the jig that i needed to drill holes in bolts. It works great.

Works great! Used it to drill holes in Grade 8 bolts. The drill bits that came with worked great.
