UPDATE: Turned out GREAT! You *CAN* duplicate keys and it offers so much smarts!
This product turned out to be ***really impressive**** and great! It’s a unique marvel of multiple products in one device: smart lock with keypad, palm reading, physical key, connected doorbell, digital peephole AND security camera with AI.If you struggle to record your hands, I have a suggestion. See video (uploaded low res for privacy). Start with your fingers on the sensor at the same angle of the palm reader (top of device) and slowly raise your hand while keeping the same angle vs the reader. At some point it will register/recognize it. This process became super simple for the whole family to register all hands. At the location it recognizes the palm you can then make a mark on the door frame with a pencil to help you remember the exact location and angle to use next time. Simple and easy. Also, I read information on the product page, and some reviews likely repeating the page info, that you cannot duplicate the keys “for security reasons”. ***BUT*** it turns out you can copy the keys as I did at the local hardware store, nothing different to other keys out there. This may seem like an issue but for us it was crucial to have the reassurance that we can each have a physical key to open the lock in an emergency if the battery or motor fails (it hasn’t). So yes you can easily copy the keys  (they include 2 with the device). The smart notifications detecting people at the door and recordings you can watch from anywhere and the autolock, state update and temporal passwords are already worth the price. On my first review, I was distressed that it required calling customer support to get the round faceplate to install on the door and that the customer support was not easy to reach. However customer support did reach out and did all they could to help me get the round faceplates quickly. Kudos to the eufy team!I encourage eufy to improve the product and communication in a number ow ways to make it even more awesome:Have better information on keys being able to be duplicated if needed, nothing to fear as every other similar lock out there will let you do that and this is an asset that could turn customers away fearing only 2 keys are included. Also, try to include all the right hardware in the box to avoid the issue of extra calls. Finally better support training to resolve and escalate things quickly.Overall, a great impressive product and team and I look forward to keeping using this device and learning more about the ways Eufy innovates in this space.

Worth the buy
I don’t have a metta base, and have installed this with a storm door. I’m sure I’m losing some functionality, but this works perfect for what I was wanting to do with my home.Lock is perfect, battery life seems long, not complicated to remove it to charge. Palm recognition is sometimes complicate, but all my family members seem to get it.I plan to come up with the solution around the storm door, as I live in MO and it’s nice to have open breezes in the house when it’s cooler.

So Handy
While I do admit that it is sometimes a little finicky reading your palm, that’s usually error on my part (trying too hard to manipulate my hand or holding it too close). Aside that, this door lock is amazing. I love having the option to use codes as well as palm prints, and being able to set up multiple family members. It’s great for having people come to your home to care for pets, etc as well because you can assign codes that are person-specific, and make them one time use or remove them at any time. The camera is triggered when someone uses the lock, but it also logs the user’s name associated with that code/palm. You can also check and make sure you locked your door from the app, and remotely lock and unlock. My front door window is hard to see through, so I also really like having the option to press a button to look outside, especially for my daughter. It’s also been helpful to be able to look for packages without opening the door unnecessarily and then having to keep a dog or toddler inside.

Works great, hopefully scan time gets better
Works really good, the hand scanner is very accurate, just wish it was a little faster, considering there are other palm vein door locks that are cheaper and scan faster. Maybe they can make it better in a firmware update? Besides that I like everything about the lock. Installation was easy and the app is very well made.

Super high tech and handy
Just installed the Eufy FamiLock S3 Max, and wowâthis thing is like a smart lock on steroids. It works great. Waving my hand over it to unlock (thanks to the palm vein reader) feels like something out of a sci-fi movieâand once you get used to it, it’s pretty smooth. It functions like a video doorbell, smart lock, and a traditional key lock. The camera and tiny display inside let me see who’s at the door without even having to grab my phone. Installation was easier than I expected , and the lock feels solid and secure. The dual battery system rechargeable plus AAA backups is clever. I’m really enjoying it so far.

Good quality lock. Easy to install and easy to use.

This is a great lock. Easy to install and set up. It seems to work very well. Recognizes our family palms and not others that I’ve tested with.I like the auto lock after a certain amount of time and you can define a time frame to do this so throughout the day you are not constantly unlocking the door.It only uses the key it came with. Would be nice if it can be rekeyed to match the other house doors. I have not tried to get spare keys made yet so not sure that is an option. The button that covers the key hole and emergency power plug keeps falling open. This is also the doorbell button so it tends to be used regularly and just does not fit tight after you open it. DON’T OPEN IT IF YOU DONT HAVE TO! LOL

It’s not perfect. The Palm reader can be slow at times, and it does not have open door detection. But I’m still going to give it 5 stars because it was simple to install, has a good battery life, and at its core works well. The pin takes seconds or we can unlock it as we pull up to the house from the app.

Good lock . Work perfectly .

Pretty fun door lock. I sometimes have to move my hand around before it picks it up, put it’s still faster then keys. The app is a little slow for reviewing previous notifications because it is “decrypting”.
