Customers say
Customers find the planter amazing and easy to put together, with a nice appearance that works well for both herbs and strawberries. However, the sturdiness receives mixed feedback – while some say it’s sturdy, others report it topples easily. Moreover, the size is a concern as customers find it much smaller than expected and too small to grow anything well. The growth rate also shows mixed results, with some customers reporting thriving plants while others say their plants did not grow well.

Works as designed
I wanted a compact way to grow strawberries and chose this tower. It was easy to load (dirt and plugs) while building the stack, and I was able to move it around on the patio pretty easily. The tower was solid and the green look is the traditional forest green. Strawberries are growing extremely well and already have some pollinated flowers. I’m very happy with it.There are limited downsides. It’s circular, so I felt the need to rotate the tower to make sure it was getting sun on all the plants. I’m not sure if this was really necessary, but because it is a tower, at least early in the season, the back side doesn’t get as much sun. Additionally, it seems that you need a lot of plants in order to get the amount of strawberries that I want, so I’m going to need a LOT of these towers if I’m going to get the yield I’m looking for. Additionally, when you water the plants, they drain from the top to the bottom, but it’s difficult to know exactly how much of that water is making it down the tower, so you’re really watering the whole tower just to be sure.Lastly, I felt it necessary to move the tower to a safe location when we had a few storms because it is lightweight and the wind was strong. It felt like the tower could be knocked over and because it’s easy to assemble, it’s also likely to fall to pieces if knocked over. I’ll be considering a method for anchoring the tower next year. Note, it didn’t fall over, it just was a worry in high winds.

Wrong color
Ordered green and got stone. Looks fine, gave it as a gift. We’ve had lots of random issues with orders lately, but this one had the least impact overall. So it’s a win I guess. She’s excited to use it for herbs. Simple setup and very lightweight and sturdy.

Makesure to lock the bottom tier to the watering tray.
After reading reviews, I decided to purchase two of these planters.I’d like to address the comments, about the planters being unsteady. At first, I was disappointed just like the other reviewers, until I realized the bottom tier locks into the watering tray.Once I connected the two pieces, the overall piece was sturdy. I plan on planting my herbs and strawberry plants in them, to free up space in my garden.Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and I’m looking forward to using them in the Spring.

Tier Planting
I like this product, because I purchased two of them, however after I planted, I realized that unless you put this item in a place that gets sun all around it, that one side didn’t get the sun it needed. So, I would suggest that you put a mixture of plants ones for full sun and the other side for partial sun or shade plants. I love the conservation of water idea. Pouring water on the top and just letting it go through to the other plants is awesome, however you have to put water in the first two tiers to make sure all plants get watered. This is a good sturdy product the plastic is thick and they interlock well with each other. The catch plate helps to catch excess water, in which you can reuse to put on the plants, however you have to unlock it and then lift all the containers of plants off it and then pour it on the plants and then reattach it so you have to lift the plants and put them back on it and lock it. It is hard to do it with all the containers attached, so I have usually taken the first 4 tiers off and then unlock the bottom one, pour the water and then lock the bottom one back in place and then put the other containers back on the bottom one. However, it was trial and error at first. Second, it is a good idea to over fill the boxes with soil or your potting mix and then pack it down, because I am finding that, because I didn’t do this, my potting mixture is coming out, and not covering my plants so I have to make more potting mix and add it to the emptying pots. I hope that this helps. I do think it would be great for strawberries, but again the sun issue is the only thing I want people to be aware of.

Nice planter with the right soil
I purchased this stackable planter to grow strawberries in. It’s a good concept, but it’s really small for what I want to do. Also, trying to keep it evenly watered with regular soil was impossible, so I swapped to a 2/3 coco coir, 1/3 compost mixture, which seems to be doing a great job. There’s no place to grow runners, so I just let them grow down to the ground, then place them in solo cups filled with dirt and fasten the runner to the soil using a paper clip. I’m not a fan of wasting strawberry plans, I guess I’m a plant hoarder in a way, but this method works best for us thrifty people.I have my planter outside in my greenhouse. 110 degree Oklahoma summers are brutal, but at least it stays around 86 in the greenhouse with misters on. In the winter, I will move the planter into my garage so that my plants can overwinter in the planter — this will be interesting. If using the saucer, the plant is pretty sturdy, I don’t understand how people are saying that it’s not sturdy. Perhaps in gale force wind, it may topple over.PROS:Overall, I like the concept. After changing from soil to the coir/compost, drainage and water retention improved.I like the way this planter saves space by stacking the potsEasy to set up and quick to get startedCONS:Too smallI’m relatively pleased with my purchase — thanks for a nice product. Please make it larger.

Smaller than pic

Listed as 12 inches high per level when in fact they are only 6 inches high per level. We are left feeling a slight disappointment. That aside a stackable basic planter for not too much money.
