worked on my 2009 Aveo
My car is a Chevy Aveo 2009, 4 door sedan. My original thermostat housing was made of plastic. In 2021 it started profusely leaking. I was not interested in replacing it with another plastic housing. I thought I would take a chance and see if this one would work. Everything on the housing lines up perfectly. I installed it in Sep. 2021 no issues with it at all.

Direct-fit but failed after 18 months
Replaced the original plastic thermostat housing on my 2014 Chevy Cruze 1.8L as it had cracked with the Dorman housing. It worked well for a year and a half but began leaking. If you look at the picture, you can see where the housing failed and allowed the gasket to blow. Thankfully, the housing was replaced in less than a week under the Dorman warranty.I recommend replacing the oil cooler pipe gasket and the intake manifold heater hose while youâre at it as it tends to break during removal.

Poor workmanship on item
This would of been perfect if the workmanship of this was up to standards. The pipe that connects from the thermostat to throttle body has the smallest seam where Iâm guessing they welded. Making it leak. No the leak is not coming from the hose, after watching the hose you can see it coming from the seams of the pipe. The part has been installed and work all done only to come to this issue. What a extreme waste of time and money. Looking for a sealer to ban aid it for now. Beware going this route.

Great product from Dorman, aluminum design is much better than the OEM plastic.

I have never received a product from Amazon where the packaging was so damaged, but fortunately this product is so robust that it wasn’t damaged in any way. Fitted perfectly and is far better than the original unit. I felt the seal was a little thin so a bit of copper RTV was added to make sure. However, unlike the pathetic original plastic housing, this robust unit has a channel all the way around the seal that holds it well anyhow. Only slight thing was the wiring bracket retaining stud was imperial rather than metric (coming from USA to Australia), so just needed an imperial nut to replace the original metric one. A really good product and much better than the original.

Schon alleine weil Dorman das Teil komplett aus Aludruckguss hergestellt hat, und nicht wie beim Original-Teil aus Plastik (werde ich niemals verstehen)Hat sofort gepasst, echtes “direct fit”. Sogar die Sensoren und die Dichtung zum Block sind vormontiert, top. Preis/Leistung finde ich wesentlich besser wie beim Original Teil. Und das ist ziemlich ungewöhnlich, Dorman ist ja nicht gerade bekannt dafür Premiumanbieter zu sein (wie ACDelco bspw.), aber die können offenbar auch anders.
