Works great,… initially was worried about the negative reviews.
Some reviews depicted a problem with this tool where the handle would bend and leaving it useless for the purpose.I had a neutral density filter (K&F Concepts Nano X 72mm) that would not unscrew off my favorite lens (Canon 28 x 135mm EF) for months. I tried different things I found in searches like rubber bands, rubber placemat, putting the lens in the freezer to get it cold, using my hand with force, with no results. I was just about ready to break it off and risk losing the lens.I received the package for this product, paid like less than $16.00 for two tools. I bought a package containing a pair thinking I might need to use the other to hold the lens base. I carefully lined up the tool on the filter to get the best grip. I was careful NOT to squeeze too hard, and MAGIC!!! The filter came right off. I did need to use some force in turning but not clamping the tool down. I didn’t result in using the second clamp, was not necessary in my case.I think that is where these negative reviews went wrong, they squeezed it too tight resulting in bending the handle. I think the rubber bands can serve a purpose here, I saw a picture of someone using them on the handle not around the filter. If you find not getting a good grip, put the rubber band to hold the handle together and then use your hand around the clamp to turn.I saw many tutorials performing the filter removal while the lens is still attached to their camera. I highly recommend not doing this! Remove your lens from the camera first.

These are what I needed in a bind. A piece of overlooked kit.
Had an 82mm solar ND filter stick to a 77mm brass step up ring during the April 8th eclipse. Stuff nightmares are made of. That ND filter was still on the step up filter as of today, July 11th. I tried everything. Freezing. Heating. Vice with cloth to hold one side in place. A few solvents to attempt to break the bond. Rubber bands. Lots and lots of me holding the two filters and trying to turn. Finally had these recommended to me by a friend, and guess what. Came off in 5 minutes. I’ll have an answer going forward should this happen again.Great built quality and glad I didn’t skimp out and get a plastic wrench or cheaper version. These feel right and also feel safe to use with expensive filters. I don’t write a lot of reviews, but like to give credit where credit is due.

    Works As Advertised
I had a slim 72mm filter attached to a Nikon lens that would not release because I had not lined up the threads properly. I got the wrench lined up properly on the filter and then “set it” by stretching the enclosed rubber band around the handles. This let me use both hands to get a good grip on the lens body and position the handle at a comfortable angle. I tightly grabbed the handles again and then twisted the filter and lens body in opposite directions. Released on the second try.The wrench is rubber coated for a good grip. No instructions are attached (pretty self-evident how to use), but an e-mail and phone number are included for customer service. Saved me a trip to a camera store because I had tried everything, including a rubber grip jar opener, before getting this wrench.

    Much better than plastic
These filter wrenches grip better and are more sturdy than the plastic wrenches I have. Good for low profile filters.I have a very stuck filter and these are still not enough to get it off and bent one (still usable). They do their job – better than the plastic wrenches – but I just needed more in my situation.

    Worked perfectly
I had two filters that had gotten stuck together. I wasn’t able to get them to budge, so before using hand tools and conceding one of the filters might get ruined, I figured I’d give this a try. It took a few attempts to get the two wrenches lined up and holding with enough pressure, but after a few minutes of readjusting them, I was able to get the filters apart, with zero damage to either one. The rubber coating did not peel off, even when having to readjust the wrenches many times during the process. If you’ve a filter(s) stuck, this is definitely worth a try before you move forward with possibly damaging your lens/filter(s) using other tools.

Decent Tool for Stuck Filters, but Not Perfect
The Neewer Rubber-Coated Metal Camera Lens Filter Remover Wrench Set is a handy tool to have in your camera bag, especially if you frequently deal with stuck filters. The rubber coating provides a decent grip without scratching the filter, and the wrenches feel sturdy enough for occasional use. However, the fit can be a bit inconsistent, particularly with filters on the larger end of the size range (77-82mm). You need to apply careful, even pressure to avoid slippage, and it sometimes struggles with filters that are extremely tight. For the price, it’s a decent option for light use, but it might not be the most reliable solution for heavy-duty or professional needs. If you encounter stuck filters often, consider a higher-end alternative. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done in most cases.

Poor quality control on a useful tool
Thankfully they give you two, because one of them broke the first time I tried to apply even a light amount of torque. Tried using them together to apply opposite force and the handle just immediately snapped.Eventually I was able to use the second one to get my filter off after sitting it on a freezer pack for about 15-20 seconds; if your filter is REALLY stuck, I’d recommend that combo, using a fairly light touch with the wrench. This is a good tool to have, but would recommend looking for a different brand as I definitely don’t trust the quality control on these.

    Breakthrough CPL remover
Works on super skinny filters that are stuck on skinny adapter rings. High quality like a nitrile mechanics gloves costing, feels profressional.

They worked great for me.I had a really tight UV filter stuck on my lens which I wanted to remove without breaking anything. No instructions, but it was minimal effort to apply to the end of the lens and remove the filter without too much fuss.Maybe I won’t need these again, but they are cheap enough and work well.
