Cuts great, but you need apply a lot of pressure (more than I can using just my hand)…at least to cut 1/0 Fine Stranded Wire. I used a rubber mallet. But works better than anything else I’ve tried.

As Good As All The Rest of My Klein Tools
I started buying Klein tools in the mid-60s for work in electronics. A little expensive but they last forever. I needed a good lineman’s plier and cable cutter for some recent electrical work so I bought Kleins, Excellent tools that can be handed down. Just keep them clean and lightly oiled and do not try to use them outside their design parameters.I read a few less-than-flattering reviews and it looks like three problems are happening: 1) The plier/cutter is obviously used with dirt, rust, and contaminants. Probably someone who ordered them, used them for a project, left them dirty, and returned them to Amazon for a refund = zero cost tool use (I’ve had that happen to me and Amazon is quick to fix it.), 2) The user tried to use them outside their design limits. I even read where a “machinist” tried to cut hardened aircraft control cable and then complained when the cutter didn’t work so well, and 3) The user got a counterfeit item, which is Amazon’s bad.

Wenn man flexible Kabel in Kabelschuhe einfädeln will, braucht man einen sauberen Schnitt. Das wir mit ansteigender Stärke der Kabel immer wichtiger. Mit Kneifzangen und Sägen klppt das nicht, aber dieser Kabelschneider eigenet sich dafür ganz hervorragend!

Gave the cable cutters a quick sharpen with a diamond sharpening stone to touch up the edge before use. Cut a AWG 10/ 3 underground cable with ease. Also cut some 6 AWG wires like nothing at all. I should have got these cutters years ago for cutting electrical wires rather than fighting with pliers.Cutters are good quality, and the joint is nice and tight with no play.Highly recommend these.

Left is the product i bought and right is the product that stands out. Trialed both with 16mm2 and 50mm2 earth stranded. The knipex 160 shears were actually better than the long leverage klien. I find that shocking as they were double the price of the 160s. The handle is comfy but youll end up clashing ur knuckles together when chopping. Only just cut 50mm with these. Id recommend for cable under 50mm the knipex 160s in the pic. Anything over 50mm2 cable- the knipex long leverage 500mm shears. Or a good pair of ratchet cutters. Ill trial further but i think ill be returning these for better items for cheaper. Do not buy
