construction and assembly excellent
very satisfied with the the rigid construction, and that it matches my 60 year old gable vents in the other gable ends. Some roofer took the original from my home, and forgot to replace it. this was 27 years ago. Recently our power company technician said we needed to replace it, as the air handler was struggling during hot days. Anyhow, I did replace the screen with an aluminum screen, and put 2 coats of latex trim paint. It looks like it has always been there, I used the original frame opening, and am very satisfied it to my hammering and large nails, to bite into siding and frame parts.

I installed a whole house fan in my attic and needed to cut a hole in the exterior wall to allow for air flow. I live in a forested area and have cedar shingles. Initially I bought some metal louvered vents but the construction looked cheap and there was no good way to put bug netting on the other side. This cedar vent looks great, fits my siding perfectly, and the install went rather smoothly. If you’re cutting a hole in the side of your house it’s definitely a time to measure twice and cut once.

I purchased the 12″ x 12″ vent unit. It was very well made with good “fit and finish” of the parts. It took a coat of wood sealing stain nicely. The vent includes a screen mesh on the back side to block insects. These are high quality units, presentable, and suitable for permanent use on houses.
