There’s nothing like the undead to bring the living together in an action-packed and apocalyptically romantic genre-shattering novel by a #1 New York Times bestselling author.
Casey Pearson grew up with a doomsday-prepping father. At eighteen, tired of living an unconventional life, she left home, vowing never to return.
More than a decade later, a mysterious viral outbreak changes everything, including the people it infects, turning them into zombielike creatures. It’s the end of the world, and no one saw it coming—well, except for Casey’s father. With no place left to run and danger lurking around every corner, Casey is forced to return home.
Upon arrival, she’s surprised to find that her dad has hunkered down with a group of survivors, including her archnemesis, Blake Morrison, the high school bully who made Casey’s teenage years a living hell.
While struggling to live on the compound, face outside threats, and survive alongside her handsome enemy, Casey will learn that although the world has ended, hers is just beginning.

5 STARS!
âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸Dating at the End of the World by Jeneva Rose was everything I hoped for and more. Jeneva is one of my favorite authors, and this book reminded me exactly why. The story pulled me in right from the first chapter, blending humor, heart, and that signature suspenseful edge she does so well.I absolutely loved the characters and the way their relationships developed, and the pacing kept me hooked until the very end. Speaking of the ending; what a cliffhanger! I truly hope thereâs another book coming because I need more.If youâre looking for something unique, funny, and addictive, this one is a must-read.

A great read.
I received this book through the first reads program. This book was a whirlwind of emotions.I was angry and yelling at the pages.I was crying like a baby.I was laughing and rolling my eyes. This is a fun read going into spooky season, That offers light-hearted breaks in between serious moments. And just enough love to keep you going. It’s written short and precise making it easy to pick up, good for readers who get lost in the world building of fantasy. This means there are jumps in time, so if you prefer a book that flushes all of that out for you keep that in mind. It does this well though keeping the story complete without making you guess and fill a lot of holes yourself, offering flashbacks for clarity when needed. Just don’t go into the book thinking you’re going to get a detailed overview of a post-apocalyptic world after all it’s only 300 pages. It’s quick moving, but the true romance doesn’t kick in until later in the book So I would definitely consider it an actual enemies to lovers story. Which I appreciate. Nobody’s falling in love a few pages into this one. In fact expect to be on the edge of your seat not sure what’s going to happen until the last few chapters, even when you think you know. The main characters were not complex because again this is a short read but they were imperfect which made you hate and love all of them and made them feel more real in the short time, in my opinion. This read will have you thinking you figured it out only for a plot twist to put your head on a pivot. If you’re looking for something that will have you laughing 1 minute and crying the next this is definitely a book to add to your TBR list. I couldn’t put it down and read it in just a few days making it the perfect book to throw into rotation between series.

Not romantic and not a standalone BUT it was fairly well written
I read this book through Amazon First Reads and it IS fairly well written but Iâm not sure I would consider this romantic and itâs not a standalone. It either has one of the worst endings ever or as I said it is not a standalone and the reader has to wait around who knows how long for the next book. Personally I donât know which since the information is not provided at the end of the book, or on the authorâs page at the back of the book or on the marketing blurb listed on Amazon to entice you to purchase this book. So I gotta take off at least a star for the âleft the reader hanging endingâ as well as the lack of clarity of IF or WHEN anxious readers can even expect another book. And while the book was well written, I have one major criticism that the author does NOT explain where exactly the heroineâs father got all the money to be such an elaborate âprepper .â As this author was world building just how prepared and elaborate this fortified bunker compound is and how thoroughly it is outfitted with munitions and food, I kept getting pulled out of the story as I asked myself how exactly did an average Working Class Joe pay for all of this and when exactly did he find time to actually work and make a salary to live in the past while prepping EXTENSIVELY and ELABORATELY before Armageddon happened? No evidence was given that they were independently wealthy millionaires so how exactly did one little girl and her dad do all this and how exactly was it paid for? The hero provided âoutside helpâ we are told for a year and half before Armageddon happened but it still doesnât compute to the size and scope mentioned throughout this novel and the compound that sustained so many people and had the wherewithal to be able to fight off so many attacks.I have read the five book series The Hunger Games twice and have loved all those books and the entire series and I got âlostâ in that world. I cried buckets in many scenes throughout the series and was holding my breath rooting for the romances. I truly appreciated the individual human stories as well as the sociological story writ large that the author was trying to go for in the overall arching theme of both the ills and the good found in humans and what that means for the fate of all mankind. So anyway I think the author of âDating After The End Of The Worldâ was trying to go for that sort of dystopian life and love in a new world order. But I believe the above two criticisms are truly valid at least to me and if Iâm being honest the author did not do enough to build up the interpersonal relationships among the heroine and her friend and honestly between the heroine and the hero. I didnât feel it on a visceral level. It came the closest when the virus clock countdown was âonâ for the hero, but Iâm not sure the author gave the reader enough to redeem the bully/monster from the heroineâs youth. The heroâs personal journey from lashing out in pain on the heroine to true emotional growth needed to be fleshed out more so that we are rooting and more importantly believe this couple should be a âcouple.â So unfortunately the author really didnât bring my heart along in this reading journey for the coupledom. So anyway I thought about the book and my 3star rating. I went back and forth about my rating, if it was warranted or if I was being too harsh. But I ultimately decided that yes I would stick with the 3stars because if I had paid for this book instead of getting it for free through Prime First Reads, I donât believe I would have been happy with my âpurchaseâ given all of the above so some future readers may want to know that fact.

Fast paced and entertaining
This book was an absolute blast to read. The story moves at a breakneck pace, packed with twists, turns, and action from start to finish. Itâs violentâvery violentâwith plenty of corpses piling up along the way, so if that sort of thing makes you squeamish, fair warning. The prose is straightforward, simple, and down-to-earth, which makes the chaos easy to follow and keeps the focus firmly on the momentum of the story. Now, I wonât pretend itâs flawless. There were a few things that bothered me, and the biggest one was the throwing stars. I have to admit, this pulled me out of the story. Throwing stars just donât have stopping powerâtheyâre flashy but basically non-lethalâand here theyâre a key part of the plot. Sorry to be pedantic, but it bugged me.That said, none of these flaws outweighed how entertaining the book was. Itâs the kind of story you burn through in a couple of sittings, grinning at the sheer audacity of it all. For fans of fast-paced, violent, action-heavy stories, this one delivers in spades.Highly recommended.

Dating After the End of the World by Jeneva Rose is a well written end of the world/zombie apocalypse story.Caseyâs father prepped her for the end of the world, but years later she never thought that training would actually come into use. As a wide spread âfluâ starts inflicting everyone, she needs to make choices that are best for herself and that includes returning to her estranged father.Unexpected the boy who was her school bully, is all grown up and Blake is one of the surviving people with her father. With tensions high and close quarters making it even tenser, these two end up finding romance/love in an unexpected way. This was a great end of the world story, that had me captivated from the first page with the storyline, emotion and action. I canât wait for the next bookâ¦there better be another.Iâve never read anything from Jeneva Rose before and this story has me adding her books to my TBR.

A love story with zombiesWhat more could you ask for, I honestly can’t not enjoy a dystopian end of the world drama so I may be biased but what a brilliant story. Loved every second, easy to read, witty and full of emotion

I loved the premise of this book. Girl returns home to her dads compound during a zombie apocalypse only to find out her childhood bully is living there. I think that author did a great job of writing the action scenes. I felt like I was reading the walking dead. Loved that part.I thought the ending could have been dragged out a bit more. The ending felt a bit rushed. The fiance. The burners. Just felt like she was trying to insert a villain into the story when the sickness itself could have been the villain. It’s a good quick read. I enjoyed it.
