Excellent Tapping Block â Makes Flooring Installation Easy
I recently used the NAACOO heavy-duty tapping block for a vinyl flooring project, and it worked perfectly. Nice, heavy block
This is a heavy/sturdy block, with one caution: As at least one other reviewer mentioned, the bottom may not be flat, with the “high” spot in the middle. This makes using it correctly pretty difficult, and it might even damage thinner flooring if you’re not careful. Mine arrived this way. Using it this way would mean when pressing the back portion flat on a subfloor and rotating it toward the edge of a flooring plank, the front end would be a good 1/4″ off the subfloor as it struck the plank… or rode up over its edge. I sent it back for a replacement which is much better… not perfectly flat, but nearly so. It may be that the force of bolting on the wooden handle makes the block want to twist upward, so I’ve considered removing the handle and putting a slight angle on the inside edges of the handle to put just a tiny bit of force pushing down toward the ends, but I haven’t done that yet. Other than this, if you get a flat one, it’s a very nicely weighted tool.

Works marvelous with LV plank flooring!
I bought this to install 800 sq ft of LVP flooring in a rental. I knew I needed a good tapping block to tap the planks together. This works fantastic, it is heavy enough you don’t need to use a hammer most of the time. It is long and straight so you don’t worry much about damaging the tongues or grooves of the planks. Thick enough that it can easily be hit/tapped with a hammer if needed. The handle is comfortable. I am glad I bought this instead of the small hand held tapping blocks. Well worth the slightly greater cost.

A must have for hardwood flooring installation.
We put down about 800 square feet 2″ hardwood White Oak flooring and this tool was very helpful. I have never done a hardwood floor before and can not imagine not using one of these. Buy it you will not be sorry.

I own this one as well as the striker xxl by Marshalltown. You can not go wrong with either or. Iâve owned the Marshalltown one for a while and the handle cracked about a year in but they were quick to send a replacement. The striker is bit heavier than this one but they both work just as good.

Nice, solid block. Handle feels nice but does come completely raw so you’ll want to toss on some linseed oil or finishing wax, which is actually kind of nice for customizing. Overall good value.

Ive installed thousands of floors (millions of square feet) and this is the best tapping block ive used. The only downside was that the bolts holding the handles on tend to come loose overtime. A little loctite on the bolt threads helped mitigate this. Definitely recommend this block if you use a tapping block lots.
