Wish I had bought these first.
Wish I had bought these instead of the vent savers. Messing with cable, a pocket full of screws, nuts, spacers, a handful of parts, even after assembling some of it on the ground, and trying to get the cable right all while trying not to slide off a steel roof was just a exercise in frustration and cussing.Solid would be a understatement for these. Easy to work with, more than enough protection for vents. Easily bent to fit with just a crescent wrench on the tabs. I had one that I cut a piece out of to fit around the ribs on the roof. Easy enough to do with a angle grinder.I did paint them to match the roof color. Tried doing that with the vent savers, their coating didn’t take paint as well. Even with primer.Update.After this winter, I would call it a fairly mild one here snow wise, the differences in snow breaks was surprising. The DuraVent protected all the vents nicely. Nothing damaged, the splitters themselves show no damage either. One small down side was they held the snow on the roof longer, most of my vents are in the same general area on the roof. While this was a minor issue, I just hand to knock the snow off by hand, I was happy with these splitters. By comparison, the one lone vent on the other side of the house the snow just slid off and around that splitter.By comparison, the other ones I installed weren’t so good. I had to replace one vent for my boiler because it was snapped off from snow. On a tar shingled roof this wouldn’t be such a issue. Even with snow on it. A steal roof with snow is a totally different problem. The other vent I replaced because it had bent pretty badly from the snow. I am looking at replacing or modifying the other snow breaks this summer. Might just figure a way to put the DuraVents over the other ones instead of trying to patch the holes from the lag bolts used to install the other snow breaks.

    Very heavy duty
Very sturdy. Bent easily with two people. Installation fairly easy if you have the right tools. If installing on a metal roof you will have to cut notches to go over the ridges, which requires some type of saw or a trip to a machine shop .

    Rugged
I installed this on a metal roof with a 4/12 pitch. Installation was challenging because, in this case, you have to clear the corrugations in various places. I ended up leaving the tabs down and the making brackets out of slotted angle iron. It worked well, and it’s solid as can be but it was tricky. Overall I’m happy with the end result.

    Great product
I thought the price was high, but it looked like a good product. As it turned out it’s a great product and a very good idea to protect a plumbing vent. Shipping was extremely fast.

The product’s description was not what I received!
The Amazon description from the seller for this item was not what I got!!THE DESCRIPTION SAID IT WAS 2 PIECE ACCORDING TO THE PART NUMBERAND…. using this stock number on their web site stated it was 2 piece. Not what I got.Mine was 1 piece. No install instructions ??? Had a lot of frustration installingthis as it was not what I thought I ordered according to the sales description..On the other hand……. after I found the product would work for my application. I was able to bend it with modifications to fit my needs. Will see how it works this winter in northern Minnesota. They need to redo, revise their product, on Amazon and their web site.

    Well made
The snow diverter arrived well packaged but no screws were in the packing. We had a local roofer install it on our metal roof. It’s up and hopefully ready for snow this winter.

    Heavy gauge metal
I received mine as a single flat piece of metal with no instructions, but it wasn’t hard to figure out how to install. The metal is perforated were you need to make your bends depending on the size vent your protecting. I placed the metal on my trailer angle iron and easily shaped the metal to the size I needed, it says 6” but I used it on a 10” vent with No problems. I bent the screw tabs with a vise and then used a 10” adjustable wrench to get the correct angle. If you’re looking for a heavy duty snow divider you can’t go wrong with this one.
