Great auto surveillance camera
Great video quality to record the front or a split screen recording both front & back. I got this for a 2007 Mini Cooper, it doesn’t have a dashboard screen monitor nor does it have a backup camera. I am giving the car to my daughter as she just got her license. Safety is my priority, this dual camera system meets her needs (or my) to record both the front and back at the same time during driving as a protection and to avoid any conflicts just in case she got into an accident. The backup camera helps her back out the driveway and leave parking spaces with more confidence. The video footage is good quality and clear, the night vision of the back camera can be a bit blurry when the head light shines directly to it. But I think this would happen to even the top brands. The device can hook up to her phone’s Bluetooth and can also be connected to the WiFi so she can use her Google map from the monitor. Easy set up, the monitor is big and the audio is loud and clear. I asked my daughter to remove it from the dashboard each time she parks her car or returns home. But as a teenager, she forgot a few times. My original concern is that it would not withhold hot Texas weather, but it could! The inside of the car was over 120, the car was on the driveway over the weekend and it still works great!

Wow, what a great CarPlay Unit!
I have owned this unit for over a week now, and I am pleased to report that it is a fantastic unit. My 2007 VW Jetta is an antique with a very basic sound system. As a result, I wanted to enable CarPlay on it. I was skeptical when I first came across this unit, but I decided to give it a try because it could potentially replace two systems with one. The other is the CAR DVR system. The unit comes with various car attachments, allowing you to attach it to the windshield with the suction cup mount or install it on the dashboard. I chose the dashboard for a specific reason. (Continue reading for more information.)The wireless pairing to the iPhone was a breeze. I wanted to see how easy it would be to connect CarPlay, so I didn’t read the instructions. I was able to connect my iPhone 13 without having to refer to the user guide. Kudos to Apple and this company. The device must be rebooted once to enter Carplay mode, but after that, it will automatically connect when I enter the car, making it very simple to use. The touch display is responsive and simple to use with CarPlay. I was concerned that it might lag, but it operates similarly to any current smartphone, with no lag.The other function I wanted to replace was the CarDVR, which was an aging 1080P unit. This one has a resolution of 4K, and I was able to get very clear images. The dashboard mount is your best option for installation because of the camera’s position. This will ensure that the mount does not obstruct your view.Overall, I am pleased with the outcome. I can use Hey Siri and Waze to navigate the road. Considering the individual cost of purchasing a CarPlay monitor and a 4K Car DVR, this is a fantastic value.

Apple CarPlay made easy and inexpensive
This is the perfect alternative if you don’t have Car Play installed. My ’14 Honda Accord has a dated GPS and it takes too much time to enter the address using a roller wheel control. I looked into getting Apple Car Play installed and they do have a version that would work for my car but would be over 1000 dollars. This barely over a 100 dollar unit works perfectly for Car Play and navigation is easy and fun to use again. The screen is bright and clear and even mimics the new AI border colors that are on new IPhones. Speaking to Siri is easy and clear, unlike using my phone with a holding device. So glad I came across this, I highly recommend.Follow up to review. All though the item looks and works great for Apple Car Play, I now have to reboot it several times to get it to work. Sometimes the screen will just shut down for no reason, but unplugging and plugging it back in again will fix the issue most the time. Not sure if I got a defective one or they will all eventually do this.Update, the company reached out to me and offered a full refund, so I will use to but another of these because I really love the unit.

Not good
Several issues:1) The device would randomly shut off and restart while I was driving. Sometimes this might be once every 20 minutes or so, and other times it was back to back to the point where I just shut it off so I didn’t have to listen to the squelching noise it made when it restarted.2) There was also a massive delay with what was appearing on the screen and what was playing over audio (aux connection). I could see that a song would change to a new track, but the first song would still play for another 10-30 seconds. If I hit pause, it would take 10-30 seconds for the audio to pause even though the screen had already updated.3) The aux cable seemed to be severely low quality. If you touched the cable at all, in any way, it would squelch obnoxiously, and sometimes the connection would be lost entirely and I’d have to fiddle with the cable to get sound to work again. The audio was also very low, forcing me to turn the radio up much higher than I normally would.4) The screen wasn’t very bright. Driving in the dark was fine, but during the day I could hardly see the route on the GPS.5) The USB-C cable was hilariously long. I’m guessing probably 10 feet. What use case would this be for? I admit my car is small, but I could have plugged this into the trunk and would have had several feet worth of cord left over. This was an issue, because this meant I had a huge clump of cord hanging under the device and it got in the way of other car controls. The aux cable was also super long, but not quite as ridiculous. Maybe 6-feet. For me I probably only needed 1 foot aux and 2 foot for USB-C, but a 3 foot cable for each would make a lot more sense, and I think would fit 99% of cars, if not every vehicle.

Here’s my updated review after using it for about a month:## Display-Quality of the display is great! It can get quite bright and viewing it in broad daylight is no problem.## Audio-Audio quality is nice. You can also use it with your car’s radio and it works great.## Dash Cam-The dash cam is decent. Records clear 4K videos. You will be able to read the number plate of the vehicle if that vehicle stops in traffic in front of you and its daytime. I’m pretty happy with it.## Rear Cam-I have not installed it yet. However, just plugged it in to check if it works. It works and the quality is decent as well.## Mounts-Two mounts are included in the package. I was using the suction type one. It was working pretty well, until one day the mount came off and the whole thing dropped to the floor of the car. I contacted the manufacturer about it. They were helpful and sent me a replacement mount.## Issue with Phone Charging-Very random case. Sometimes during charging a phone, the tablet may restart. It does not happen all the time. I was told that this may happen with older cars as the car’s battery may not be able to provide sufficient current for both the tablet and the phone. Again, it is pretty random and does not happen always. Anyway, the manufacturer were nice enough to offer me refund for my troubles.## Customer Support-Initially the customer support was not very helpful. However, they reached out to me later with better solutions. I am overall pretty happy with the interaction.

Itâs excellent, highly recommended. The camera quality, display, and variety of mounting options give you a lot of flexibility. Iâve been using it for a few months now, and itâs been great so farâI hope it stays that way. Also, this display model doesnât have the hassle of removing the original system or complicated installations; it easily works with your phone and the carâs factory system

Pros: Nice big screen, touch is responsive. Easy to connect to CarPlay/ android auto, easy to use. Dash base is stable.Cons: extended arm is not stable. Very shaky.- says Bluetooth 5.1 but has no multipoint connect. Only one phone at a time. I have a speaker on my visor that has multipoint connect and connects both my iPhone and android at the same time. I can accept calls on both which is important because one is my work phone. Why canât this be done on this device? Big fail.- I use an app called Zello to communicate with my dispatcher and use simple radio app to listen to my favorite stations while Iâm on the road and out of range. While my music is playing and I get a call on Zello the radio does not shut down completely so I can take call. It stays on and competes with my call. It should shut down on incoming calls. It does not. Cannot hear person on other line clearly because music keeps playing. Fail- a big con with this unit is that you cannot connect Bluetooth without connecting to CarPlay/android auto. So if I just want to use this for calls out of those two things I cannot. Itâs all or nothing. Fail- So this device heats up. Overheats to the point the screen freezes and I get a message on my android saying that Google maps cannot be used while device is hot. This happened 5 times in one 7 hour shift. Fail- The device does not snap into the mount for a secure hold. It rather slides onto the prongs and uses gravity to keep it on the mount. Fail-What made me send it back was the overheating and screen freezing multiple times. That was the final straw. I cannot in good conscience recommend this device to anyone. Very disappointing as the tablet is nice size.

I wanted to wait until I had a few weeks of experience using this wireless Carplay before writing my review. I have used it with my Apple phone as well as an Android phone with equal success. My vehicle is a 2007 Camry, and this display is a very nice upgrade that makes it feel like a newer vehicle.I followed the instructions to install the app first and had no problems setting up this device within 5 minutes. The unit boots up quickly when I start my car, and connects to my phone within seconds. The screen is bright, responsive, and responds to a light touch. The 9 inch screen is nice and large, but does not obscure the windshield in any way.I use the bracket attached to my dash with a suction cup, and have not had any issued with it moving or coming loose. I do not regularly view the front dashcam videos, but they are of decent quality, and should help if I end up in a crash. For audio, I have used the FM tuner with OK results, but the audio cable has higher quality sound.Overall this has been a great upgrade to my older vehicle, improving my driving experience.

Functionally this product is great. CarPlay is really smooth, Airplay works, the screen is really clear, as is the camera. I honestly wish I could use it, but here is the issue. It is external. Most people should be saying “duh!” at this point, and rightly so. But, if you’re anything like me, you haven’t taken the time to actually consider what it is actually going to look like having a 9″ screen sitting on your dash or windshield. I love CarPlay and as I said, this unit works great. So I was willing to take on the inconvenience of losing a decent chunk of the limited viewing area in our Sienna, but my wife was not. I will even give the unit credit again for having a lot of options for where and how you can mount it. At the end of the day though, you need to consider how much space you have on your dash, how big your windshield is, as well as how it is angled, and consider those factors against the height (and to some degree the width) of any external unit. Ultimately I will be returning ours, but as I’ve said, the unit “functions” (from a software perspective at least) exactly as you’d hope.
