Nice bright light to chase away gloomy days
Light is easy to set up and is nice and bright. Did not give me a headache like some other lights I have tried in the past have. I have had this brand before and it lasted years. Hoping this one does as well!

I am a retired mental health counselor. I frequently recommended Verilux happy Lance to my clients in addition to family and friends They can really make a positive difference in mood and energy level for those suffering from seasonal affective disorder or those that feel that they’re beginning to hibernate due to lack of sunshine, frequent cloud cover and rain! They are portable and you can move them to wherever you are. You can set them up by where you’re working or by your exercise equipment or in the kitchen when you’re prepping food. The light is nice and bright, so for those that have some vision challenges it can if you set it up while you do your paperwork Very reasonably priced on sale! This is the third one I have purchased. I used to have one going in my office in Washington early in the day. Lots of health benefits.

Needs an OVERHEAD Stand
I used to have a bank of four 40W fluorescent full-spectrum lights hanging over my desk. It was great! Being OVER me, the light rarely caused any distracting glare while I worked on my computers.This is just as good as a light, but desperately needs a way to hang it from the ceiling. Perhaps a cradle that could hold three of these lights side-by-side and pointed down? That would be ideal. But this is still a fine light; the only problem is that sitting on my desk, the glare on my monitors is terrible.

Happy Light indeed!
I had this device recommended by my sleep doctor. Amazing results. He uses it to suppress my melatonin release. I use it for 15 minutes before my planned bed time (four hours later). Immediately improves my mood. And now for the first time in a long time, I was able to sleep for eight hours. Very happy with the light. The device says âhappy lightâ on the bottom. Now I know why!

Let There Be Light
My light arrived very quickly and I am thrilled. It is small and slim, kind of like a smaller tablet. It was easy to set up – just plug in the cord which is smack dab in the middle of the back, a tiny hole. The on/off button is on the top right edge. Warning – the light is BRIGHT. I was kind of put off by how massively bright it is, but… I am enjoying it by keeping it on a table to my side. You do not have to look directly into it ( you can’t b/c it is like looking at the sun). It will do its work even if it is just at my side. I journal each morning and like having it on the table beside me. I have noticed an unexpected benefit – I can write without my glasses!!! I wear glasses for everything, but I can see perfectly to read without them when I read or write next to my Verilux. Who knew???I always go outside and sit in the sun as soon as I get up in the morning, so I can get my day/night hormones set for the day, but now with darker mornings of little or no sun, I feel this light is the perfect solution. I have a friend who uses this light to head off depression related to dark winter days, so that is another benefit I am looking forward to.The price was excellent and I highly recommend this Verilux product. You will not be disappointed!

The Verilux HappyLight Lucent, and I seriously could not be happier! It has totally transformed my workspace and has been the only thing to really brighten up my day and mood on those dreary days or in the winter. The 10,000 Lux brightness is just right â you can be in direct sunlight without the harmful UV rays. It emits gentle LED lighting and is convenient to adjust so that I easily get it aligned in the perfect position on my desk or nightstand.So coumfortable the one touch operation. All you do is tap it for on and off (love it), and there is no fuss getting things set up. The first few days using it 20â30 mins first thing in the morning and I found a definite change in the daily energy and cognitive levels.And hey, the compact design is a nice addition too; it never takes away space, whilst remaining solid and sexy. If you are looking for an effective, easy-to-use light therapy solution that actually works, I suggest the Verilux HappyLight Lucent.

Light is great but the stand is awful!
I canât even keep this upright on my desk while working as the stand is absolutely ridiculous. Itâs not sturdy at all and is very annoying when trying to work around it. The light itself is super bright and works well.

This has made a huge difference in my daughterâs life! She is studying ballet/ dance full time in the UKâ¦The dreary weather difference of England from where she is from in America( and the fact that she walked to the school before light, no windows in studios, and walked home after 5pm in the winter) was getting her down. Not even kidding, thing thing has changed my life.I grew up in Southern California and moved to Eastern Canada 6 years ago. For the past couple of years I’ve been noticing low energy and just overall sadness that would come over me in the winters and I figured it was just the crappy Quebec weather. I then started hearing about Seasonal Affective Disorder a few years back, but didn’t think that I had it. Low and behold, the sadness this year got really terrible (and I am a generally happy person), so I decided to get this light (I’ve heard about these types of lights before) just for the reason that I wanted to get better and wanted to try the light therapy method. I have a background in psychology and I am always extremely skeptical about products that are meant to help and whether the placebo effect goes into play. So I try my best to stay as objective as possible and kind of expect things to not work and then see what happens. Well, this light is incredible. The first morning that I had it, I put it on right after waking up and I gave it 20 min, but it actually annoyed me, so I figured it won’t work, but I’ll entertain the idea and give it a go at the office. Game changer. I put it on as directed at 10 or 2 at the proper distance from the face for 30 min and actually found it really, very pleasant (but fyi, it is very bright). I then turned it off, and a funny thing started to happen, I started to miss it being on!! I was very surprised. When I put it back on, it was overly stimulating at the 10 or 2 position, but I really wanted it on, so I put it behind me (a foot behind me at about an 8 or 4 position if looking at a clock and 12 being my computer screen). It was amazing. I left it on for 6-8 hours and I couldn’t go without it for a week. Now I use it when I feel I need it, so maybe 2-3 hours some days, some more, some not at all. We have had very little sunshine this winter and I recommend to anyone that is even remotely entertaining the thought to try a lamp like this to not even hesitate. It’s amazing!!! And this one is the size of a tablet, so it fits anywhere and very light to carry, not flimsy or fragile at all, well built.

The light that comes from the Verilux Lucent happy light is bright and effective. 2 things they could improve: The clip that holds up the light definitely needs to be more stable, so they should put some work into that. Also would be nice to have a cordless light to use anywhere and be independent of a light socket.
